Hello all,I have a few questions about game licences.The first is about "Hunter" from BSC games. I know that it closed its doors, but I would very much like to buy a licence. Does maybe one of you have a licence and would sell it? Then please send a private message! Thanks!The other question concerns GMA games. I would like to buy licences for "Shades of doom" and "Lone wolf," but another blind gamer told me to be careful with that, he said that he had severe problems with GMA games when trying to buy his licences. [[wow]], awesome!  Can you tell a bit more about the server? I mean, if I set up a server, can the players who join then choose between game modes, maps, teams etc.? Or is this limited by my choices? It would be awesome to offer a server where people can do what they want without needing me to launch anything.If the server can handle this, I could maybe set up one server for the development team and an other public server for all other players. Well, just some thoughts.  I'll take a look at it.

Hi.I tried the world very briefly yesterday, and it's quite nice. I like the easy commands.However, for me, having the speech read the whole output to me doesn't work very well. why? The speech client can't go back and read word by word or spell out any words. This can be an issue for many users when it comes to reading character names. For me, this is an issue if I'm not sure on how to spell an object I have to use in the game. Not because I'm bad at spelling, but because english isn't my main language. It doesn't seems like the client is able to repeat the output, and read the text again line by line or word by word. For me, this is an issue when I'm in a room with many objects.Having said all that, I look very much forward to check this out some more. I haven't even finnished the tutorial because I then got an important phone call. Lol. I really see some great things in this world, especially the great and easy comm
 ands. I have played a few muds where the commands are really complex or quite annoying, which is not the case here.Keep up the good work guys. More feedback will come soon.

Thanks Soren!IMO spelling names is even more of a problem than you suggest, because game players invent interesting and unusual character names.  I don't think many native English speakers could spell "Chiensha"!Others have made the same point.  With that in mind, we've just added a "spell names" command which reads out the spelling of all logged-in characters.  The command reference is being written as we speak.  This only addresses a fraction of your point, but it's a common use case.  More to follow as we think about the rest.Greatly appreciate the feedback!--M

Hi.cracks are not allowed here, but I'm not a moderator, so I'll shut up! However, Infovox 230 and 330 are not supported on 64 bit systems as far as I know. So you need the newer Infovox voices. Or are they called Ivox? I don't remember.

Hi Stardust. first as regards hunter, another person cannot sell you a license sinse they are specific to each computer and need to be generated for that machine. Bsc did sell a license key generator briefly before they closed their doors in 2013 It's a very bad state really sinse at the moment nobody without the ability to generate the license can have a new one, however Bsc haven't given permission for the key generator to be passed around or made the games abandoneare. I'll also add that as per the faq, requests for, or attempts to pass around software that is still on sale will get you into serious trouble on the forum, though in the case of Bsc I do recognize that this is a bad situation as they are both no longer selling the games but not allowing anyone else to get them. As regards Gma, I don't know what you were told but there are no problems with buying Shades, lone wolf or any of their titles. The only slight issue is if you
  want two different license keys for two different machines you have to get them separately, but even that is being fixed as Gma are upgrading their new licenses to their game accounts system. So, feel free to go ahead and buy the games from them, Gma have some great games that are more than worth playing.

You might also consider a "show objects" ad "spell objects" reference to give players an idea of what they can interact with in the current location. Btw, my screen reader pronounced "chiensha" as Cheensha, and it could've equally said the same if it were spelt cheencia or cheansia.

The standard Room description command, "Look", outputs the Room title, Room description, list of Items in the Room, list of characters in the Room, and list of Exits from the Room.  Granted that's an earful sometimes, we could easily add new commands for each of those components: "room description", "room contents", "exits".  Happy to do that if it's helpful.A more global solution might be to cache the spoken text and make the cache navigable via keyboard, say with the arrow keys.  Up and down equals previous and next line; left and right equals previous and next word.  Maybe some other combination could spell the current word.  This is doable but I think there'd be inevitable unhappy interactions with new text pushed from the game world.  For instance, you're navigating through the buffer when a pigeon enters the room, replacing the buffer with the text "A pigeon wanders into the

@Sebby, the equality discussion might be fun elsewhere, but for the immediate point I agree, on the one hand sighted gamers do need an intro to audiogames, on the other that intro should not give sighted gamers the impression that all audiogames are essentially bopit. However, just because mechanics are simple doesn't mean the game can't be addictive and have gameplay that requires more complete thought. Look at blind swordsman as an audio game designed as a novelty for sighted gamers with very simple mechanics, but mechanics worked out to be addictive and challenging. After all, there is a reason that a lot of 80's games like packman, space invaders etc became so popular and addictive even though the principles and mechanics were simple.

Agreed Dark. Well, I don't object to bop-it; it can be fun too. Of course, I think many early games were addictive purely on the face of the limited interface, i.e. the story was all you could really go on. PacMan is fun just as much because it's a reaction test as because it puts the central character into an entertaining and exhilarating position IMO.

Hi All,Now this is a game I've been looking forward to for a long time, a new full-length bit of interactive fiction from Andrew Plotkin, one of the most celebrated IF authors of the past twenty years or so.It can be bought for $5 on iOS, or directly as a Glulx game file from www.hadeanlands.com. The iOS game works beautifully with VoiceOVer.But what is this game about, you might wonder? Basically, you're a low-ranking crewmen on a so-called alchemical starship. Something has apparently gone very wrong, and you wake up in the Secondary Alchemical Lab with no real idea of what. You have to single-handedly get the ship in working order again, no mean feat, and figure out what happened and why.Alchemical starship, you might ask? Yes, the starship is stuffed full of alchemical equipment, and you'll find rituals for all kinds of things, from removing tarnish and rust to killing fungus, and that's ju
 st all I've discovered so far. The iOS version of the game keeps track of everything you discover in a neat little journal, so you don't have to worry too hard about where your various recipes have gone.I should say that while this is definitely a puzzle-heavy game, the puzzles are quite logical so far, and you can't seem to get stuck in a place from which it's impossible to continue. There is also a lot of handy work behind the scenes to let you repeat rituals quickly, for instance, rather than having to run through every step individually. There's even a VoiceOver accessible map, and you can tap the name of a room to go to it immediately. My sense is that this game was intended to provide hours of alchemical fun, and not be completed in one or even several sittings.It is still a parser game, so won't be to everybody's taste, but I highly recommend you give it a look. You can find it on the App Store or www.hadeanlands.com, for $5. If you buy it from the web site it will work in Winglulx or similar.Enjoy,Zack.

The short answer is that yes you can do it, but I wouldn't rush into it. To get rotating maps working you will have to know the Quake commands and modify the cfg file. And to get multiple servers up you will have to listen on different port numbers, and run ports through your NAT box.The thing to understand is that Quake is always client-server; even when you play single-player, what's happening is that the client is actually speaking the server protocol to itself, internally. The server program merely externalises that server function into a separate process. So, learn how to use the main engine first, i.e. the whole of Quake, and then you can learn how to run the server with the right config. You can choose which map to start, which game mode, and whether cheats are enabled or not.I will see whether or not it would be possible to run Quake from a direc
 tory rather than the launcher; that might be helpful. In the meantime, don't be alarmed if things are patchy; it is beta after all.

Agreed Dark. Well, I don't object to bop-it; it can be fun too. Of course, I think many early games were addictive purely on the face of the limited interface, i.e. the story was all you could really go on. PacMan is fun just as much because it's a reaction test as because it puts the central character into an entertaining and exhilarating position IMO.Purchased.

Well now the game is out, see This announcement I have my copy but can't say much thus far as I've only just downloaded it and can't play currently sinse I need to wait while the counsel fix my door. As to your previous comments Sebby, I agree there is a place for boppit, but we've already seen far too many audiogames like that. I disagree though that packman is a simple reaction test. If you analize the gameplay of the graphical version, it's calculating a number of factors into the future, the movments of all four ghosts across the maze both currently and in the future, the necessity to track those predictive pathways along side packmann's current position and the position of the dots packman needs to eat, and the need to balance this against the limited resource of the power pills. Additionally, all of these factors need to b
 e learnt, sinse a gamer who initially picks up packman and isn't fully aware of the speed at which packman moves, accellerates  and turns relative to the ghosts is going to be far less successful than a gamer who is fully familiar with all the movement intrinsic in the engine. If Boppit is a game of catch, packman is juggling five balls, and that to me is what makes for interesting game mechanics, giving the player a number of factors to micro manage and mechanics of movement and control that the player needs to master, effectively giving the player more balls to juggle.Whether Audio defense will be successful with this I don't know, though I intend to spend the next while finding out .

I just want to take audio files and folders from my pc and play it on my phone when I'm out, not all this cloud diskdrive virtual network shenanigans! That's why I'm tempted to just kick the hole thing and buy an mp3 player of some description, sinse Apple's media handling is if anything getting worse.In fairness this was an option I always bore in mind when I first bought the Iphone, and indeed I bought it on the understanding that media transfer might not work. I found a workaround with Itunes 11, but if Apple have buggered that up, maybe i need to think again, or at least maybe i'll think again if Ios 8 indeed won't work with Itunes eleven.

The process doesn't have to be complicated. Launch an app, and start its FTP/WebDAV server. Then use your PC to open a shortcut on your desktop or wherever, and in the Explorer view thus displayed, copy over your stuff. Now you use the disk app to play your music or whatever.For a cloud provider it's even simpler: you copy stuff into a folder on your PC, and when you open the app, it will be there.But yes, nothing quite beats just loading up a drive and off you go, so perhaps another player is the answer.

I don't see why people (apple in particular), have to make this so bloody stupid. Itunes seems just bloated and ridiculous, and while I get the point is to force you to buy stuff from cruddy applee, rather than going with what you already have, it's really shoddy behaviour. As i said, I'll load on the Itunes 11 setup you were kind enough to send me earlier Sebby, and use that for the time being, but when that no longer becomes possible I'll likely have to think again.

well unless I'm doing something very wrong, it's currently not possible to get more diamonds, as the zombies that supposedly give them do not.  I'm having fun so far though.  the challenges certainly do get tough though.  however that's partly due to some of the zombies being very, very quiet.

Actually, the Knight's Templar can heal up to moderate wounds, and there is a lot that goes with them.  The dwaden or the Udemi are pretty decent at combat, and the udemi are awesome at bows.I'll argue forever that mining, in fact, is worth the time spent putting into it.  Lol.

sorry for double post.  Flintlocks aren't the greatest weapon, however, if you can find the ...eh...better firearms in game you're in business.  you've got to keep supplying them with powder, so, until your firearm/marksman skills go up it's a money hog.  powder is like 15 riln per 30 shots I believe.

Hi,Ditto with the diamond bug. That's kind of big because some of the upgrades require them, the final weapon requires 30 diamonds, for instance.Also, I've actually managed to make the game freeze in endless mode. I think I might have encountered a whisperer, I shot one, which was fine, I then shot the next one that appeared and the game froze, I could turn but couldn't shoot, tapping made no sound, no zombies were appearing.Only thing I could do was press the home button to get out of the app.

Hi Afrim.I can tell you it's fixed. It downloads playlists, great. You can download the original video, or video playlist. Have it in mp3, m4a and other formats. You can also download multiple youtube and other site, clips at once. So let's say you had 3 pplaylists and wanted to download them at once, no problem! Just Alt key, down arrow then enter. And paste your first playlist. Press enter. paste the second, press enter and then the third.This Program works great and is my primary program for downloading videos, and not only from youtube. Other sites too.

Looked up a teardown of the 2014 mac mini out of curiosity. No glue but the memory really is soldered straight in, presumably it's cheaper to manufacture than soldering in a DDR slot then inserting the module, and there's a door in the bottom inside the normal panel of the case using security screws. Oh and the motherboard doesn't even have a second SATA connector which means a server version would be impossible, though there is a spare PCI-E slot used for the SSD part of a fusion drive.

All of their story modes are mini- rpg like modes, so not verey accessible. Ultimate Ninja Storm revolution's main mode, world ninja tournament, is another rpg mode but not really a story mode. That game's story mode, called Ninja Escapades is accessible. But in all the games, characters can be unlocked by playing through versus mode.

Ah, I'd been going by the wiki. Presumably it could use a couple updates. Being able to heal up to moderate wounds is pretty good, though presumably it takes a fair amount of work to get to that ability. Especially for wounds caused by crush damage which don't seem to be bandagable outside of a healer, those are a real pain.

Audio Defence Blog:How we came up with Audio DefenceOctober 30th, 2014 So, how did we come up with the underlying idea for Audio Defence you ask? Well, we’ve done loads of research on the game play of our last audio game Papa Sangre II. We’d implemented loads of new ways to interact with an audio world in that game : clap your hands, extinguish fires, stabbing enemies, throwing stuff, and … shooting! We soon realised that shooting was incredibly fun and accurate despite the fact that you cannot see your enemies, and pretty much all our testers loved the duck shooting level at least as much as we did! We’d thought about having more shooting levels in Papa Sangre, but soon realised that wasn’t quite right for the game. However, a shooting game using the Papa Engine seemed to be well worth a try.So we created a prototype. One of our main concerns was to keep it as simple as possible. Papa Sangre allows you to walk, run, swim, look around, use your hands, and do many other things. That means that the players have to complete a few tutorial levels before being able to fully enjoy the game play, and not just contemplate the 3D audio scenery. That’s why we decided to make Audio Defence only about aiming and shooting. We wanted anybody to be able to grab an iPhone, and enjoy the game even if they were playing for the first time. In that sense, the prototype was a success as we manage to get people with no experience on our previous games to have fun. When using gyro control players also told us they felt immersed in the game world much quicker. We put this down to consistency between what you do in the real world and what you do in the game. When you turn in the world you turn in the game.We’ve built the game around this boiled down control scheme and immediate effect, creating depth by introducing new weapons, enemies or type of challenges. We’ll talk about these aspects of the game in later blog posts.

Hi Welshweyr. Heroquests are one of the harder parts of the game. To get knolidge of a quest, sacrifice to the God it is associated with, in the case of the Making of the Stormtribe quest, that God is Orlanth. if you sacrifice for Mysteries, sometimes you will get knolidge of blessings, sometimes you will get knolidge of some or all of a heroquest. You can try the heroquest when you have  some knolidge, however it's a good idea to make sure you have all the information first. You can tell this when you sacrifice when you read "such and such a god revealed some/all of the details of such and such a quest" If I remember rightly Making of the storm tribe has both details and secrets, meaning you'll need at least two sacrifices for mysteries, maybe more.To try the heroquest itself, use the quest screen which can be found on the magic screen. Select the quest, then set things like whether you want to ask allies to help you with extra magic 
 and how much your going to put into trying the quest. The game selects the best quester by default, and unless you've got a really good reason why that person shouldn't go on the quest (like they are your chief), it's best to stick with the first choice. If you successfully get your quester into the realm of the God's, you'll have a gamebook style choice ahead of you. To give you a chance of completing it correctly, you'll need to be familiar with the myth associated with the quest. You can find the myths on the lore screen, where it will also state if you know secrets of any of the myths, (though bare in mind only some of them have secrets), for making of the storm tribe the myth is obvious.If your really stuck, the Kodp Wiki found here has full information on all the heroquests and what choices have the best chance of success, however I'd advise trying you
 rself first sinse one of the most fun things about heroquests is having to understand the myths and match to choices,  just bare in mind if everything goes pare shaped it might not be because you have made the wrong choice, but simply because you tried the right choice and ffailed, heroquests are hard! Indeed, in some ways this is why the short game is harder than the long game because in the short game your forced to do hereoquests in a short space of time, and sinse you can't attempt heroquests that often failing them can be problematic, while in a long game you hav far more time to spare.

Glad you sent the tweat jonnyboy. I played endless mode and though I believe I killed several  diamond zombies, I didn't get a single diamond, also when I  suffered death by chainsaw zombies in the last of the Roman arena challenges, the game crashed. In fairness it had to be the world's creepiest crash, the game just froze, the background music went on playing and I continually heard my character scream as he was continually sliced and diced by the zombie over and over again, but all commands were inoperative and I had to close the ap with the ap switcher. It was an annoying bug, but quite a hilariously grusome one! :d.As to the game, I like the idea behind it and the challenges are I admit more fun than I thought and do require stratogy, I also like the way endless mode has the taro card deck to give conditions, though I do wish you could specify whether to play with cards or not.Doctor Bastard is just as much of,  well a bastard as I though
 t, (I love the bit where he insisted you dance), and the audio ambience is nice, although the thing I like best is gyro control, swipes, shakes and taps for use of weapons, a far more immediate way of challenging the player particularly with how fast you need to spin sometimes, and shaking the phone to get rid of a close by zombie is quite a nice sensation.Oh, and if you have some vision, the blood red screne on death is really quite unnurving and a nice effect, it gave me quite a shock when I first saw it.The audio is great as always, I particularly like the way that now that the physical motion of the player is employed, telling what is behind you (which was a miner problem I had with enemies in Night Jar and the first Pappa Sangre), is really not a problem. I do hope they fix the bugs, especially the diamond one, though with a new release some bugs are at least slightly expected, however I will say I'm not disappointed in the game.

@Sebby, never got the bug with the  machines you mention. There was a lady on the audeasy list who couldn't start the game and was stuck on the "select your control method" screen, and I wonder if she had the Ipad problem you mention. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a bug fix in a few days, sinse hay this is fairly standard for new software of any sort. I'm sorry the bugs are stopping you entirely from enjoying the game rather than just being a miner irritant as they are in my case.

It is pretty pathetic and unfortunate how bsc games handled that situation.  I purchased all of there games as they were released and enjoyed them greatly.  I should've bought that key generator when it was available, I remember seeing the post.  Maybe we can maturely write a letter to justin and see if he would relent?  These games shouldn't be lost to time.  It's been years since I've played them but I remember really enjoying pipe 2 because of the various gameplay genres covered.

Pretty show stopping bugs. I wouldn't say they were miner. Also the whisperers game breaking bug isn't voice over specific. Something else I've noticed, different parts of the user interface get mashed together. For example I die in endless mode, back out of there and start a challenge. Swiping through controls with vo lets me still read the game over screen and all it's buttons. The game shouldn't have released in this state imo.

This game is incredibly buggy.To get past the second powerup machine, hit the skip dialog button while Doctor Bastard is talking.When I play the endless mode, the screen will literally freeze for no reason whatsoever. Ir evived for one diamond and tried that wave again, but after a zombie killed me, I was still whacking it with a melee weapon. No sound was playing, but I could turn and hit. I couldn't fire though.Selecting info from the main menu shows no text whatsoever.The tilting seems rather unresponsive.

First things first, you need to learn about the mental side of the game... that is strategizing, spacing, how to track where your character is, etc. Then, you need to learn how the combo system works... and then from there, it's all character-specific. but getting to a high level takes a long time... you should have a specific goal in mind.
