I'll try tquest to the core sinse I suspect the story line would appeal to me. As for the third game,that sounds amazing, particularly sinse thus far monster battle raising games on Ios have had questionable access at best. I'm also looking forward to the labels for floor tyles in adventure to fate and such becoming slightly clearer.As to accessibility, well not everyone's game gets built with access sinse unfortunately this canvasing practice frequently means games get built without any readable text or elements to interact with at all, even when the games are said to be pure text (it was a bit ironic when I saw a game just called text adventure quest with no readable text or elements whatsowever). Then of course any developer who's willing to discuss accessibility gets major browny points, simply because while most developers tend to be reasonable people there are some who are not. Both of the other possibly accessible monster batt
 le games on Ios have unpleasant developers who either won't discuss access at all or initially discussed the idea but then fobbed me off with a very generic "we cannot add that feature at this time" e-mail, (particularly annoying sinse it wouldn't have taken much adding). So, definitely awsome that your considering access in both current and future games.

The Projectaon site is a fan site for Jo Diva's Lone wolf gamebook series, they have html versions of all of the books (where I first played them), and a very active discussion forum where of course gamebooks generally come up a lot. Then the Fighting fantasy project is a site that has their own in built gamebook system based on the old steve Jackson ff series from the 80's (which annoyingly I have not! played many of due to the fact that their still only published in annoying print or on rare occasions as very inaccessible programs). The ffproject however has a lot of really good stuff written by modern authors, and several guest books where gamebooks generally get talked about a lot, and also a links list. If your looking for customers and spreading the word, these sites might help. Hope to play your stuff soon on Ios, (it'd be nice to get my money&#
 039;s worth out of the premium pack).

I literally just threw this together in the past half hour, but my initial tests seem ok enough that I'm starting the discussion anyway.This program does not access Google Translate directly. It's purpose is to save translations made using the NVDA instant translate addon, then retrieve them later.It works both for saving and viewing.Here's the original link (If this topic stays active as I update it, I'll put a link at the top):https://www.sendspace.com/file/25t8puThe usage is fairly self explanatory. There are 4 settings, accessed using the number keys: off, next, prompt, and get.When set to off, it logs changes to the clipboard, but pairs them with a blank translation. Hopefully, I'll add more editing features later, so you can go back and edit these. This is good if you want to translate by hand and are just scraping for source text.When set to next, the pr
 ogram will wait for another clipboard change, and assume that is the translation. This is the most convenient method; you can just play one of the Japanese games, and the program does most of the work for you in the background. However, there are some edge cases--and these popped up a bit often when I was testing it--which break this. If the game changes the text before you can translate it, or in the curious case where the text is just numbers (the save slot menus on BK3 were a nightmare with this setting).Prompt mode prompts you with a text box every time a new clipboard value is found. This is safest, provided you don't, say, try to type anything with the letter A in it while translating BK3, but cumbersome enough that I haven't tested it for horrible bugs.In "get" mode, the program just tries to look up the translation that's been set.Use the left and right brackets to adjust the speaking rate. I went with sapi instead of screen reader 
 support, but I can change that if you prefer.It seems to handle numbers just fine, so long as they aren't the whole string. You can press n to enter your name, or some other variable that you want the translater to ignore (this is necessary for any game that lets the player enter their name). I think I forgot some stuff with the name setting, so don't get too attached to your translations until there have been a few days to work out the major bugs.Importantly, we need to know if sharing the resulting translate.dat file across computers is viable, otherwise there's hardly any point.Keep in mind, the program does not save your changes automatically; you have to press s to do so. You can press l to load from the last save, but the program does load automatically, so you shouldn't need to do this unless you want to clear all the changes you've made since last saving.(I put this in off topic because it's potentially a g

@Crashmaster, I do like paypal myself, but as patjkk said, it's not exactly difficult to store your credit card info elsewhere even if your concerned about security. I've had mine stored on my computer for a while but I recently decided for security that was a less good idea so bought a memory stick just! for keeping my credit card info on.If developers aren't keen on using the guide dog system just because of the name, and changing the name isn't a feasable possibility, how about simply going letter code, eg, the gd game client. Bsc never sounded bad to me even if it did stand for "blind software com"

Well Trajectory Supernova does the online activation thing as well then can be used whatever, and I do like that system when it's been employed by games like Q9. I can see the constant online thing would get irritating if your not in a position to have good net access, although it's becoming worryingly common for not just audiogames but maistream games and Ios titles too, (I was quite surprised when I found out I couldn't play Trivia crack or Solara on the train due to fluctuating reception, even as far as taking my turn and then waiting for it to upload). As to demos, I will admit I used to very much be of the mind that a demo was %100 necessary, but now I do find that changing, particularly sinse most of the games on Ios that don't have demos tend to be moderately less expensive, and also because due to the fact that demos are becoming less common independent reviews, reasonabl promotional materials, podcasts etc are becoming more so. Of 
 course a demo is a good thing to have, but I'm no longer of the opinion that it's always! and absolutely necesary, or that there aren't alternatives.

I don't know too much about the diablow series Bryan, though I do remember my brother demonstrating the blacksmith's amusing accent to mee. I do know the games had the action rpg style but also featured a lot of differences in play with characters, eg, my brother's favourite job was witch doctor (who also seemed to have an amazingly awsome Jamaican accent), which wasn't the toughest class in pure melee but had little minians they could summon and also create different traps and wards on the floor around them, so it was always a game of luring enemies too their doom while your  minians beat them up rather than going in and pounding them like a knight or blasting them from a distance like a mage.Of course the famous part in Diablow was the randomly generated levels and items which would be awsome. I actually think an action rpg setup like that would be quite doable in audio using some of the first person tricks employed by something like Swamp,
  (after all in audio first person and 3rd person 360 movement are pretty much the same thing), although having the pause for magic type business might be good if loads of different spells and spell effects were going to be part of the game.

Sorry? the amount of current strategies are small?In crazymod, with 7 or 8 (i forget  he number) races, the strategies are alot. All of them depends the time of the match that you are, the style of the map if is close, open, with neck bottles in the entrance of main base, deppends if your oponents have good anti air army but bad ground forces, with good scouting, good manaje of skills of all units... etc, etc.If you compare the current soundRTS with crazyMod, is nearby than Starcraft. Hte only things that is necessary implement, more kinds of skills for different units. But more?With more things, you easily can break the spirit of a RTS game, and this isn't the idea.Good job soundmud, continue with this awesome engine!

hey touchmint could you give me some help.  I am stuck on floor 13 of the quest game and keep stepping on traps but can't find my way out.  Does floor 12 with the merchant shop have multiple entrances to floor 13 like i think floor 8 does?  Thanks much.  Again excellent and let me know when you need beta testers for your next project.ps love the 8 bit music although it might be fun to have some battle music in the next title but no worries if that's not possible.

Hi all, we are preparing the design process for a brand new cruiser that will be in orbit around inderion station, signis alpha, or someware in the delta system. This cruiser will be used as the recruitment outpost for the federation navy, so yes, you will be able to join the federation navy soon. We're still designing the initial mission ideas, but we think it would be cool as part of the roleplay aspect to have an examination at the recruitment test. What do you guys think of this idea. We'll let you know when the new cruiser will be explorable.

Great to hear.  I'd be more than happy to test and give feedbak when the times comes.  My only request that hasn't been stated before in regards to any other of these types of games you make is for maybe a couple of extra sounds for spells and the like, as right now they all sound the exact same.  Keep up the great work as always.  Still working on unlocking vampire as I want to try out a vamp/rogue combo after finishing with the knight.

i don't think its specifically in the readme. it got added after the current version went live. lootpoints are points you get when you pick up loot. you get one point per loot on normal and 3 points per loot on hc. even when you get three points per loot on hc normals should find it easier to get more points as there is a greater number of loot on normal. normal loot is 4 times as prevalent as hc. so that should keep normals above hc's.

It's funny you should mention Diablo Dark, because during the lead-up to the release ofBGT I actually fantasized about trying to write a game in a similar style as Diablo, having watched both my brother and dad play the PC version. I always liked the music for one thin and of course I couldn't get enough of Grizwald the blacksmith's Scottish accent. "Whoa! What can ah do fer ya?" LOL. Then Cain the Elder sounded a lot like Sean Connery.

As a developer, I'll weigh in on this.to me, names are important. Thus why I went with L-Works and not a blind-specific thing like Blind works or Blindy soft.  The name of a company or project is important and really is taken seriously. A lot of people I have talked to have trouble taking the guide dog games name seriously as do I.  I would love a system like steam to easily allow me to sell my games along with updates and add-ons, but I can't tell a perspective customer that we're powered by guide dog games and to visit their website to purchase.  When I first saw the yellow bonnet game this morning and saw guide dog games I did a serious double take. I just feel the name is very tacky and non-inclusive. I love Dark's idea of a one or two word name. fog is actually very cool, and is a play off of Steam in some ways.  I hate seeing services and sites using the terms blind or other related terms to describe their names
 .Let me finish up by saying this.  I love the concept. It is way overdue in my opinion. I would just like to see a more generic name before I look in to it at all. Maybe I'm alone in this camp, but it really just bugs me on a very deep level.

Hmmm, interesting, I've not actually heard the phrase used in that way but of course in England "guide dog" just does mean guide dog and the American "seeing eye dog" _expression_ is not used at all. Plus of course sinse I myself have a guide dog, have a mother and grandmother who had guide dogs, and am actually a fan of the Guide dogs organization over here (it's one of the few blind agencies I have a real respect for), I suppose I would naturally only associate the phrase with,  well guide dogs of the canine variety. I do sort of vaguely remember the search engine Lycos used to have a black labrador as their mascot and I believe they made some sort of guide dog reference, though I could be wrong sinse I haven't seen their adds for probably twelve years and indeed I'm not sure if they're even still going. Still, as I said, I don't see the point in quibbling too much over a name.

Well Haramir, Alteraeon is an rpg, though of course it is a mmorpg, or massively multiplayer online rpg which makes it a very different beast from the sort of game I've always wanted to play, sinse part of the major point of most single player rpgs is that they have a huge story in which you play one or more of the characters, discover there past and the world and have a continuous progression (albeit with side quests and exploring), from beginning to end. Also, because they are a progressive story the combat, monsters and encounters are rather different, for example where as in an online game like alteraeon all the areas and the world are fairly static, in a single player game you might have a huge battle halfway through the plot which destroys one area, or not be able to just head back to an earlier area of the game because you have been accused of a crime. The monsters and places will reflect this too, so for example you might go back to the same area you started in toward
 s the end of the game but find it toally different due to events in the plot and populated by massively different monsters that require other tactics, or maybe one of your character is killed or otherwise out of the story for a bit so your party has to manage without them. It's this interaction between exploring,  finding  items and detailed combat (which doesn't have to be turn based), and story that makes for an rpg. Interestingly enough, Skyrim actually has many similar mechanics as regards it's fishbowl, open world of doing anything status to Gta, even though it's setting is utterly different and I believe it is a little more stat and item heavy although the combat is still realtime. I myself would love to see a decently written, interesting turn based combat system, but I'd certainly not be against an rpg with a real time, zelda style either, indeed one of the games I've always! wanted to play is secret of mana on the
  snes which combined the two elements in a very nice way, sinse you went around and did the physical melee and combat with weapons zelda style, (though with 8 different weapons with different ranges, hit speeds, charge times, power etc), but when you chose and targited a magic spell the hole game paused for you to target whatever you wanted, and likewise when an enemy used magic on you it would just hit automatically and affect you or not according to your resistances, weaknesses etc just like in a turn based game. So, you'd have bosses which would chuck projectiles you needed to dodge, or  swing around a hammer which would whack you, and then would blast you with magic that you needed to counter only with magic of your own. Status effects such as poison, and even silence could come by being hit by either, so it was a pretty awsome mix all around.

I am working on a third installment at the moment and with the information I have collected here I plan to make it fully accessible and would love to have some of you as testers when the time comes. This new game is based around the apple watch but still playable on the phone and ipad. You will be playing as a monster of your choosing and will share elements of adventure to fate with the monster raising from games like tamagotchi where you will be raising the mons
 ters by not only battling but feeding playing etc.

My personal preference would probably be a system where you need to go online to register but after that the software will work on your machine anytime (like what Jaws does). It's a fair compromise between security (for the developer) and convenience (for the customer). If I have to be online everytime I want to play your *single player offline game* I'm going to resent that like hell because it wasn't long ago that I was living with some people way out in the country where internet was dicy even on a clear calm day. While offering refunds isn't necessary, providing a fair demo / trial which gives potential buyers a solid idea of what the game is like and what to expect definitely is.

Believe it or not, the phrase 'guide dog' is positively associated with 'finding a path to things' by sighted people, and when I picked the name I intended to use it for sighted games as well.  GuideDog Games isn't blind specific, and I plan to have visual/GUI games on it in the future.

I'd personally have preferd a name that was shorter, snappier and sounded a little more like a game service, perhaps fog, smoke or hydro a
 s a riff on steam, or if it was related to blindness something a little less overt, eg, obscura, mirk, or marshlight. Then again  this would never put me off a service entirely and not using something because you dislike the name strikes me as cutting off your nose to spite your face as the saying goes. Funnily enough the online activation thing is just what  has happened with the guide dog system  produced by Dentin and used in the Yellowbonit game by valiant galaxy associates, and it does indeed have the problem that you need to be online for it to work or are limited to the demo. There is no perfect system it is true, though to be honest refunds aren't usually the major concern of what sort of sales system you use anyway, especially if you take the time for a game demo or promote your game properly with some good Audio of the gameplay, I've bought several Ios games on this basis alone from pappasangre to Lost cities.

hey mr. brunete, since I liked the Nintendo famicom soundpak, how about making a super mario yoshi's islend soundpak.I want the pak to include the following.the ending for when you've defeated bowser, like the music that plays during the credits.after that, make a grand theft auto San Andreas soundpak that includes cutscenes for each level as well as the endings.it may sound like a lot but I'm enjoying beatstar.

Hello folks. Adding to what Dark already said, yes, Alter Aeon is a rpg game. Ok, you can kill things undefinitely and infinitely to your heart's content on Alter Aeon, but there are lots and lots and lots of history lines to take part and solve. All that said, let's review the meaning of Rpg: role playing game. Well yes, nothing said about grinding and looting forever and ever. Also, rpg games are not restricted to turn based combat. Unfortunately the only one accessible for us I can remember is Shadow Line, which is a really complex game in terms of plot. Since we mentioned GTA which is not accessible, I can point Skirin as a well known action rpg game.Just to make things round, I'm not offended by any means for being a fan or the rpg genre. Thanks for the reply and thank you for moving this thread. Yes, I would like to fix iOS and I apologize for the issues. With some work, I should be able to fix it. Unlike most mobile developers, iOS is a lower priority for me because I don't get many downloads on that platform relative to other platforms at the moment. In addition, iOS is a pain to ship to and so the ROI for shipping to Apple products is very questionable to me. As a one-man show, the trade-off I have to make is "Do I sink another month into iOS and potentially get almost nothing back or do I invest that time into other platforms that I know I have customers on?" Nevertheless, despite how few iOS customers I have, they deserve service and so I will update the iOS versions, particularly the Premium. It's just that I'd rather do it when I have a large update to avoid the "Apple overhead" of shipping several smaller ones. I hope to have an update up by the end of summe
 r.I have a question: Does anyone have a sense of what the relative percentage of blind users are for iOS versus Android? Poking around the net, I might detect a skew toward iOS, but I'm not sure. Not that I expect anyone to have good stats on this, I'm just curious to hear a gut check.Thanks,Sam

Dark and Aaron, please don't create a new GuideDog account to change your account handle.  The default account handle gets inherited from your AA account when it's created, but it's not something that has to be set in stone.  I can almost certainly find a way to let people change it, or change it manually, and would rather do that than have multiple accounts I'd have to merge together later anyway.

Unless your game itself is a primarily online experience anyway... that system is pretty much a "Country Folk Not Welcome" sign. Lots of people living in rural areas couldn't play your game reliably. At least around here, you go outside the city limits and you get either really expensive and unreliable internet or none at all. That also means you couldn't play it while in transit, in a lot of vacation spots etc.

I do all my editing using filezilla sftp(Essentially, ssh connection via ftp): I use wordpad, or notepad++ , to edit the files locally through the edit feature of filezilla. Works great. I then switch back to puTTY.

if you buy it just know that it doesn't have block or miss sounds, yet, in case he updates it which may be likely.  Personally i was a sucker for the storyline although that 's not a bad thing.  I thought if it has a storyline with the elements that battle arena has why not try it out.  I haven't been disappointed thus far despite what i mentioned in my previous post.

Hi,Yes, this is the ishue with refunds. What I'd probably do is create an online system which has to validate the key whenever you run the game and if you get a refund the key is deleted from the list, and the key doesn't work. Of course, that has it's own ishues. Say the database got wiped for some reason, it's goodbye to all the registration keys, or say the server with the database went down, you have to play the demo until it gets put back up and if the server moves to a new domain, you have to release a patch to fix it. All in all, I don't think there's such a thing as a perfect system.

The Active SoundScape Engine

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone still had the installer laying around for the Active Sound-scape Engine? I had purchased it a few days before the X-sight website was scheduled to sease existing, but both websites conveniently stopped working before I could install it. Hmm. I actually believe I already had the demo version, but the problem was that i could not access the ASE website for the online manual on how to use it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

normals can trade at level 60, hc at level 25, and if its the same as it was in the old  titling system, if you  manage to get a title before level 60 or 25 you can then trade. obviously hc and normal can't trade with each other but just be happy we can trade at all.

@Tom, that is odd indeed, sinse while I do remember such crash bugs throughout the betas other than a couple of known issues the current version is pretty stable. I wonder, which version are people using? Have people run the updater patch? The latest stable build is 1.2K, (the updater patch is on the driftwood site). Of course, it could be a windows Issue sinse obviously I'm using xp and entombed was primarily developed on xp along with windows 7 32 bit, so it could be just a case of microsoft strikes again .

We don't particularly have a rule as yet about one person one account sinse it isn't a matter that comes up very often, but in this case can I please ask that one of you create their own account.  ! target specific, at least when I fought the pickpocket it described me "sliding past his blade" which I'm guessing is something a pickpocket would have but not a general person on the street, so if this is the case would it be possible to give specific hit and miss messages for the snake and bull that didn't refer to their body? Indeed, I would've thought descriptions of you "stompin' that ratler", or "Havin' that bull toss your salad" would contribute to the humour and atmosphere of the game. As to the guide dog account, I assumed like most account systems it would bee one account per mailing address. Even if not it would sort of be nice to have my Alter account in the same system as the other gggames. I'll be interested to see what gets updated with this ooone and will likely have more comments when I've played the full game.

@Dark, when it comes to Entombed I too have encountered a lot of bugs in the game. It could just be due to your setup you have not experienced any problems, but what Xoren has to say is all too true.For example, I have had a number of cases where my party were engaged in a long fight with goblins etc and the game will suddenly crash. I'll get some .NET runtime error and then the game exits.I have experience similar crashes at various points of the game. Since Jason isn't working on updating the game I have not wrote down each and every bug I have encountered, but sad to say Entombed certainly has its fair share of critical bugs and issues. More than are to be expected for a game of its price and reputation. So I'd agree with the buyer beware warning.@Johnnyto, as for Lone Wolf it is undoubtedly one of my favorite audio games. Although, outdated in some respects the closest mainstream game I can come to comparing to Lone Wolf is Aces of the Deep.
  Lone wolf comes with like 17 missions with the initial install but with all the extra mission packs etc there are well over 100 to play and many hours of fun there in. It is definitely worth the price to buy it.
