@85, this is how you want to propose those variables.Z even can be represented as the vertical variable, and x and y can be represented for moving ahead, back, and to the sides.from what I have learned from my high school teacher, x is for forward/backward, y is for right/left, and z is for moving up and down.I don't know if i'm right or not, this is what I have been taught in school.

New Forum Game, Either or and Why

This game is simple. You come up with a question with two possible answers, pick an answer, explain why you picked that answer, then pass the question on to the next person. Passing along the question continues until one person feels said question has been answered enough and decides to ask another, and the cycle continues. Feel free to comment on someone's answer if you wish. Let’s start.Dogs or Cats? I prefer dogs, because they're loyal and they're always there when you're feeling down. I've got a Long-Haired Chihuahua, his name is Doopie and he likes to cuddle.

Okay everything is finished, though I confess some of those last dungeons were quite the slog, now I'm waiting for chapter 3. I actually suspect this would be a little harder to play on Ios because where you can read a lot of the notifications when you click things by just hitting up arrow in the browser, finding temporary text might be more different on Ios, though I did mention to the dev the possibility of direct vo output. Either way the game is still lots of fun and I'll certainly be playing through the third chapter.

Re: Monthly chat October 2019

|Thanks. @keyIsFull, the only richard matherson I've read so far has been I am legend which is of course the classic that spawned night of the living dead and lots of other zombie films, although those were vampires. I enjoyed it (at least as much as one can enjoy that sort of thing), and would be interested in checking out more by mahterson. Needful things is good so far, but likely when I'm finished I'll bring back the stephen King topic. It was my lady's birthday yesterday so we went out for a very awesome Italian meal, we had a good time, but I admit at the moment there is a bit of  a sword of Damocles hanging over us. We're going to have to go back to hospital on Wednesday for another chat and to do all the paperwork, then my lady will start the chemo. On the plus side, recently I did have a lot of fun with planet side (now with broackerly),  check new releases, it was a perfect act of relaxation, albeit the last few dungeons got very grindy. Today I have a book review to finish and I might try getting back to serious fiction writing, I would also like to check in with cosmic rage as well since I've not been on for a while. Hope everyone is having a reasonably better time.

Re: Presenting Master of Orion, a space strategy game

The manual is for the original graphical MOO, but a lot of the  concepts are still the same. In this particular instance, if you hit "b," it's the equivalent of clicking on the graphical spacedock thingy in the original game, and cycles you from ship to ship. To actually build ships, you need to spend some of your production in shipbuilding, with a command like "s s 50," to spend 50% of your production on ships and 50% on everything else. NOte, this isjust an example and I don't actually necessarily recommend it ONce you do that, if you check the planet with "l," you'll see how many ships you're building, or how long it will take to build one, depending on the size and cost.THe thing to realize is that this is a command-line version of a game which was originally graphical only, so some aspects might not make a lot of sense until you poke at them a bit. It was originally intended for testing, I think, but also lets us play the game in a way we haven't ever been able to before.

In the end, people make seemingly daunting sacrifices to insure they can live a happy life. For some, the happiness of others is what gives them happiness while for others, it is things like money and a ton of possessions. Either way though, each example you listed above earns his living and his happy life by giving to others; the billionair likely gives the people entertainment, or clothes, or technology, or what have you - and his Twitter fandom is no coincidence. By your post you paint the celebrity as this rather careless person who is lonely, resents what they are doing perhaps because of this, but must keep up an image. Perhaps this is true for some, but not all. Perhaps some have IQs topping 150 but prefer the lavish lifestyle, while others want nothing but to get out and slam shot after shot every night to forget the daily agony of the public eye. Furthermore, maybe that janitor can go places, but he doesn't want to. He is chasing his dream - and despite how mundane some perceive it to be, it makes him happy, and that's why he's willing to sacrifice for it. I can't think of one example where someone willingly endured tribulation without gain; even Jesus didn't do this, and I use him because according to Christians he is the most perfect and noble. He did it because he wanted to pay for our sins, and see us freed from them, give us another way to salvation. This would make him happy, because he loved us, so he did it.Selflessness does not really exist. In the end it's all a matter of what motivates you - your happiness derived from that of others is still your happiness in the end. So long as the celebrity is not taking from us more than he is giving, so long as he is fulfilling his duties as an entertainer and making peoples' days, making people feel like they belong, giving them something they look forward to so much that they continue to put dollar after dollar towards it, then why should I admire him less than the janitor at an elementary school? For each bad day the janitor has, the celebrity crashes and burns, yet again. No way either walks away unscathed every single time, right? With every success comes the road to it, and the failures of dead end alternatives. Each time though, they reach for motivation - one from the wallet and one from the heart - but each in kind from their own reserve of hard earned, well deserved resources. In the end, if they both die with smiles on their faces - the funeral patrons cracking jokes in memory of the hilarious entertainer as they wander to and fro across immaculate tile floors, then what right do I have to judge the one better than the other? Hats off to both for chasing and living their dreams to the fullest, even if they hit and splattered against more than a few brick walls along the way.

Re: Let's talk Goalball

@12 I only broke mine because I stupidly threw it very hard from a not very far distance at a surface it wasn't designed to be thrown at. The rubber of and glue of the ball is made to take impacts on softer things, such as people and goal nets. I was throwing at a wooden fence. Eventually, I realized I was spending way too much on replacing the ball and I could invest money into making a DIY goal than continuing to shell out 80 bucks every 7 months. Most of mine would crack right around the middle where the glue holds the two halves together and continue cracking as I threw it more and more. Eventually it became impossible to practice with after the ball split so much the bells were coming out of it haha. From where did you order your ball? All goalballs should be 9.4 inches in diameter and have 8 sound holes. This is not much bigger than a basketball, so if you can compare, then you should. I order mine from the USABA. It's listed as an IPSA certified goalball and costs 94 dollars, 80 for the ball and 14.95 for shipping. You may have acquired a Junior Goalball which is designed for smaller children to play with and is not as firm so as to prevent injury for newcomers to the sport. But if treated correctly, your ball should last a while. It shouldn't break easily. The Kentucky school for the blind has balls over 5 years old that have been thrown and hit against just about everything associated with the game in their time. I finished one off the other day trying to throw a bounce ball actually haha. It was already coming apart at the seams though.

Oh, I dunno @4...  Money isn't everything in this world either...I've never once believed success was determined by how much one does but rather by how much one is, that character is not so much what you've gained but how you've gained it, and that perseverance shows up best in the midst of pain, not pleasure.  That is why, as far as I'm concerned, chasing after one's dreams, while not entirely a bad thing is, at least, somewhat overrated.  How many people have you seen who are chasing after dreams end up splattering all over pavement after jumping out of tall sky scrapers?  I'll always admire the janitor who went to school, got a PHD, maybe even secretly worked on a cure for cancer in his spare time, but who seemed to do nothing more than slave away for a bunch of pesky 6-7-8 year old children who made monumental messes in all of the bathrooms he had to clean, over the star-spangled-celeb with millions of twitter followers and FB friends and billions of dollars burning through bank accounts and a car for every day of the week and an island of his or her own.  What's more, I wager the latter is lonelier than the former, because the latter always has to impress with an image of his or herself, while the former shows at least part of his or her character in keeping such a job, all the while capable of going elsewhere.

Probably because I don't feel that bad about it. I made an off hand comment that I will grant you was pretty low class, but I put virtually no thought into it at the time and moved on. It took me less than 5 seconds to type that out and I was already on my way.I'd like to think that posts I've made in other topics reflect the fact that I don't hate on gay people. This was a step back and I regret having made the comment, but I'm not going to be coming in here on my knees apologizing and begging for forgiveness when there are far more serious situations to reserve that kind of thing for. What I will do is be more careful in the future and put a better check on what I write.

Question regarding usability of diverse electronic instruments, or you

2019-10-21 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : Niklas via Audiogames-reflector

Question regarding usability of diverse electronic instruments, or you

Hi all, this could be a good question for @the man from the dark as well, but all other answers are welcome:I am interested in some electronic instruments and would like to know how your experiences are:teenage enginiring OP-1: Would be great if someone gets it or get the possibility to try it if you could tell about if it is usable as blind person.  I already know the PO's of the same manufacturer are but am also interested in the OP-1. The same goes for the OP-Z, i imagine it could be doable with that as well because it has no display. Are there experiences with the Roland aerophone AE10? The sounds are pretty cool. The Roland boutiques series interests me too. From what I read the novation Bass station II, monostation and the circuit could be manageable as well, because they use no display and no real menus.@Man from the dark: You said you use the arturia keystep. Is even the software that comes with it useable or do you use it without the software? The behringer crave and neutron shouldn't be a problem from what I hear, since they even have no display, same seems to go for the Roland Gaia SH-01, Korg arp odyssey and MS-20 mini.So if anyone can tell his experiences, I'd be happy to know. I know each blind is different, but I plan to record sessions with sighted assistance in order to learn the instrument I choose, but if there are already tipps or Selfmade documentation or such for those, I'd love to hear from you, and ofcourse even if one device is completely unusable in your opinion. A big thanks to @man from the dark for all helpful tipps and devices wich are accessible before this topic. If you know others, they are welcome, but your points to the right directions already helped very much.

Should any member of the team be squirreling away some vast amount of brain power that could be used to get them a 6-figure salary plus a slew of benefits and an enviable retirement plan, choosing instead to only make audio games and administrate the audio games forum; I'd strongly plead to them to open their mind and chase their dreams and opportunities. Hello. There was a discussion about adding a new software releases room to the forum, but because this forum is primarily geared towards gaming the room wasn’t added. In the past, Klango fulfilled the purpose of being an all things blindness forum and more, but Klango has since been discontinued. Would anyone be apposed to me starting a forum for that? I can do it, but I’d rather not go through the trouble of making this unless it’s something that everyone wants. I’d also like to point out that this would probably be close to if not exactly like the audio games forum, apart from the rooms which would be different.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being gay, straight, or any other persuasion, so long as it's not causing harm. There is, however, a lot wrong with bigotry and the persecution of people simply because of their life style. Interestingly, I note that Ironcross shows no degree of contrition for his casual slander and bigotry, he just chalks it up to a casually fired-off insult. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, though. The same mindset which convinces him that he should be able to dictate how people code and what programming languages they should and shouldn't use is probably also indicative of various other forms of prejudices, hence his complete dismissal of the situation and the need to apologize for such an egregious trespass of propriety.Kai

Re: please send me bgt.exe

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being gay, straight, or any other persuasion, so long as it's not causing harm. There is, however, a lot wrong with bigotry and the persecution of people simply because of their life style. Interestingly, I note that Ironcross shows no degree of apology for his casual slander and bigotry, he just chalks it up to a casually fired-off insult.

Re: Prepaid cell phone plans

I use AT's prepaid service. I pay only $30.75 a month for data, unlimited talk and text and a hotspot. If you're a heavy data user it won't work for you because after a couple gigs or so they will throttle your connection. But if you're a light data user like myself since I'm mostly at home or on the office's wi-fi it will work well for you.

And I have the $60 essentials plans and I do believe that metro offers a $30 or so plan but that is a last resort for me but it is in consideration. I have friends on both at and verizon I talk to quite frequently and would love to have HD voice connections with them and I believe visible would allow that for me.

Hello. This is a cool concept but may I suggest an idea? If we are going to simulate tapes, is there a way you can make the program increase and decrease the pitch and tempo of the file at the same time just like how the talking book tape players did? That is the best way I can explain it. I'm not sure if you all are old enough to remember and if they had them in your country. Thank you for the awesome program either way.

Also keep in mind that if you really want t learn Japanese, or any other language, it doesn't matter how much reading or studying you do if you don't practice it. So even more important than finding a website for learning Japanese, find a group, online or otherwise, where there are people who are either native speakers or have similar levels of ability as natives, and get talking!

Re: Lucia - OpenSource AudioGame engine written in Python

@84, you still have it wrong. Stop allowing cardinal directions to influence coordinates -- that is not how geometry works and even your local math teacher will agree with me on this point. Here's how it should work if the player is at the origin (0, 0, 0), for example:If using a left-handed coordinate system:Player moves forward from (0, 0, 0): coordinates are now (0, 0, -1) (Z coordinate decreases).Player moves backwards from (0, 0, 0): coordinates are now (0, 0, 1) (Z coordinate increases). If using a right-handed coordinate system (and, ironically, the one that is taught in educational institutions):Player moves forward from (0, 0, 0): coordinates are now (0, 0, 1) (Z coordinate increases).Player moves backwards from (0, 0, 0): coordinates are now (0, 0, -1) (Z coordinate decreases). If player side-stepped, X coordinate would increase (they went to the right) or decrease (they went to the left); the Z coordinate is irrelevant and remains unmodified. Same for moving up and down: Y coordinate is changed; X and Z are unmodified. You can change how this is displayed in the user interface if you so choose, but this is how it is done in code and how it is done in mathematics. This is why you only allow multiple coordinate system handedness when your ready to do some heavy modifications -- you run into issues like this where you have extreme difficulty converting between the two because everyone is taught the right-handed coordinate system and not the left-handed coordinate system, so they are used to the right-handed one but the left-handed one makes no sense to them. Its quite sad that even colleges don't teach this; my college algebra teacher is working on getting her degree in mathematics and she didn't know that there even was a left-handed system. The way I get this to make sense is to imagine that there is this invisible barrier or table in front of me with a graph overlaying it. We all know how a graph works by now, or I hope you all do: X is horizontal, Y is vertical. The Z axis is... what? Forwards and backwards. 3D graphs aren't taught for quite a while in college, if I'm not mistaken, so you'll only be taught this stuff in your senior year (I think). It could be different depending on the college your going too (if you are at all).Back to my point: this helps with the right-handed system: If we make a line going strait forwards from ourselves, or try to move through the barrier (and we magically succeed) ,our Z axis will increase; likewise, it will decrease if we move away from the wall. The left-handed system is a bit different. Take the barrier and turn away from it or imagine it behind you. When you back into the wall, the semantics are similar: your moving "backwards" from your point-of-view now, but your Z axis is still increasing (remember, a graph does not change its semantics just because your orientation is different on it). If you move away from the wall, or "forwards" from your point-of-view, your Z decreases.I'm not sure if this helps or doesn't; it can be confusing and I understand that. You really have two options:Keep the current system.Select one of the two systems and go with it.Pick wisely. Figure out what's beyond you and what isn't. If you stick with what you have, fine, but remember this post (and all the ones before it). Please. I don't like repeating myself.

FIrefly,Both the spy and sec commands use a percentage value, I think in the graphical game it's a slider, though I'm not sure exactly where the percent comes in, or rather what the percentage is taken from. I just know that if you use the "emp," command you'll get a percentage of your total production that is spent on spies and security, and if you use "rep," you'll get info on how long it takes to put a new spy in a particular empire. Keep in mind that each spy put into an empire is increasingly expensive, unless you're the Darloks, whom I believe pay half for spies in general. I'll look into the guide or code  later and see if there's any more info on what's behind all this. THe actual command line just accepts a percentage in both cases.

A quick correction.Dark doesn't moderate, he posts news. Juts clearing the air before our usual suspects crawl out of the woodwork screaming and shouting.I have the upmost respect for him especially given what he's going through right now. Ya, i see. And for silicoids this strategy could be very useful.I got a question about how to use the sec-command. And the same for the Spy-command. Which value does this command need? Credits, percent? I am not completely sure how it works.

Re: Sequence Storm Rhythm Racing Game

As far as I am aware, the game is not unity-based, it's a custom engine. You are right in assuming that unity revs up the system to boost game performance, but I don't think it is the case here.Threads (and threading) should not take up resources on this level, unless there is some serious thread lock-up going on, which should not be the case since the resource use is constant, and is usually not close to a hundred, which might indicate that the system is running out of resources.I think there is a point when we just have to accept that these are the requirements, and on older computers, this means heavier resource use. I am not sure about percentages, but I don't think anyone ever reported more than 60% CPU use. Since the GPU is used, especially for the last person, it is perfectly normal that the fans spin up. Especially on a MacBook, where Windows is notoriously bad when managing the fan and temperatures.Rob
