Re: Suggestions for Switching from iOS to Android (Pixel 4) Good morning.Firs things first, I'm not an all out apple fanboy and would defend everything that apple is doing at the moment, to be quite honest their stance on political matters especially with the chinese government is everything else than great, but that's not the point.Unlike other fanboys calling everything bad regarding Android, I did actually go and test an Andorid device for 2 weeks or so as I said a few months back. Luckily I got a pixel 4, so relative good hardware and a stock Android to experiment with.I tried everything with talkback and haven't installed comentary yet.The thing is, while Androids openness and customizability, for example with programs like Taskr and custom RFID labels is fantastic and I had loads of fun trying stuff out and seeing what worked and what not, I'm not able to use Android in my daily work as I would love to, because screen reader wise there are to many things breaking my workflow and efficiency.to make it clearer, I have no time for extensive haggeling with the screen reader, I want things to work and I won't bother with any inconsistancies.For example.TB still had the problem of lagging, even though I have a modern day high end snap dragon SOC running, together with I think 6 gigs of ram, which should ensure a fluet work with the device. While app start times were what I expected from such a device, talkback just seamed slow and unresponsive.Same with browsing, it all took virtualy ages till something was loaded and tb could read it.The rotor and the strange swiping gestures have been mensioned already number of times by now and I also faced these.I don't want to go into a menu and change my navigation settings there, do what I need to do and change them back. I like my rotor on iOS where I just can quickly change between navigation modes, just as I need it.Yes, TB has the ability to change speach synthesizers, but to be quite honest, this is definitly not an argument that counts for me, sorry, but just no.Yes, apple has it's fare share of problems with non stable operating systems, lacking customer service and faulty Macbook keyboards, but as long as I have a stable, quick and snappy iOs and Android doesn't change something about TB or a better solution like Comentary comes out, t leased phone whise I stick to an iPhone.I haven't yet tested out Comentary which I will do in the next days or so, but only if I have whiped my device clean and give it a fresh install of Android.Call me overly carefull or even say that I'm waring the tin foil hat, but I don't really trust a chinese software, not officially distributed via a website and only by joining a telegram group, wanting full access to my device.Granted, every screen reader needs that, but did someone run a integrity check on CSR? do we know if it sends any data to some server in China? It clearly even states what is being used in the help and support menu section.Commentary is indeed not for everyone, especially since there for now is only physical keyboard support via the up/down arrow keys currently.Though even with Talkback and Voice Assistant, there are just some places among Android which you need to double/single tap on the screen, regardless if having an external keyboard connected.I am wondering actually, even though there is a commentary forum (which i must say does need more love), for non chinese users, should there also be a discord server for commentary too? When it is available, it allows some rather cool things like disabling Talkback as soon as you launch commentary so you don't have to do that manually. Stop being racist and basing your concerns on the fact it's from China, especially since that's where your phones are made. We have a great Windows screen reader that is from China as well, and all of them are created by independent developers, not by the Chinese government, so I don't get that argument oh it's from China so it is automatically suspicious, unless you think this is the mentality of all Chinese people in which case as I said you're being racist. It's not a choice anymore, you don't use languages which are not maintained for new projects and which can start being incompatible at any point, and when that happens, boom all your 1000 lines of code are lost, they don't work anymore. Who's fault is it then? It's a different choice if you already have an established game in BGT like CP or Manamon, even then you should start to think about porting if you plan to keep working on the game, but then you can't just stop using BGT. New developers though, there's no reason to do it. It was very interesting to be able to go along with the story with clarity as opposed to the minimum understanding we could get earlier. I really appriciate your efforts. I have some questions related to these translations that you did. Do you have to go in a orderly manner or you can just paste any line and translate it randomly? Do you have to make some changes in the game or does it automatically pick up the translated text? Although, I did find some errors relating to the sentences in the translations. Eg., It said that a sword is in the back of the temple when it should've said at the back of the temple. Then once you climb down, you have to retrace your steps until you find some more water to swim in. It's only a very small patch of water though, but once you make land again, you will hear the wind chimes to a new area. Re: Fara, a new browser or downloadable roguelike I believe it shows buffs such as "happy" under the status heading which appears just above the injury and below the quick actions, , where it also says "wounded, injured" etc. As far as I've gathered butchering or crafting don't provide benefits on their own beyond their products, (after all, woodcutting in this game is essentially attacking a tree), however eating and gear are good things to have, and crafting doesn't take very long to do. I'd not recommend wooden swords, but wooden buclers are easy to make and very quick, as are leather waterskins. Burlap gear can be crafted relatively easily though I've not worked out at the moment which trees give plant fibre and which don't, you can also make wooden bows and arrows too and ranged weapons can be good. Re: holy christ, a nonreligious game I got to the boss level but the voasinfettes never seem to spawn for me so I can kill 31 of them. I tried killing the spawner as soon as the level started at 25 25 before it teleports away, then I tried again without killing it and both times I couldn't tell if they had come out. Though in one of the plays where I killed the spawner immediately, I was able to kill 15 of them, I just didn't know what the sound of them was. I was just spamming the control key as fast as I could and I guess I just killed them. The gun is probably too loud and should be quieted down so you can actually hear whether your shots are hitting. I know there's a sound for it but I can barely hear the sounds of the bullets impacting because the gun is so loud. Also, the gift shooters should prboably make some sort of loop sound so that you know where they are, because as it is right now they just fire out of nowhere, and though I can kill enough inflatables that I get enough health items to survive, it's still annoying being fired on by something right in front of you that you had no chance of avoiding because it seems like if you are on the same X coordinate as they are, you can't move out of the way no matter how far left or right you move. It's just that explaining how everything works in a non-live format where interested parties like yourself can't ask questions and have the player respond is very difficult. Not that I won't create anything like that in the future, but it's not the easiest thing to work with as everyone's on a different level. I, for instance, learnt the ropes from a sighted player in Gears 4, but understood the basic ideas after having played Halo before that.@5Horde is the only viable mode without sighted assistance, though you'll either need bots or a team to get past a certain point really. That certain point depends on both your skill and the enemies you have to take down, as well as your map choice. I personally play Forge as it's the map I enjoyed most and is easiest to work with in terms of lines of sight.@6I was informed once that camera shake reduces recoil on your guns as it's tied to the camera, though I don't know how accurate that information is. You will play them using up, left, circle and triangle, and switch tracks using l and r. Sometimes you will get powerups that you can activate using the cross button. At least this is how the reviews described the game. I need to get around to playing it and some other things, just been super busy lately. However, we are pointing out facts. If you don't like them, you can choose to ignore them. People just don't want new games which are potentially amazing, yet stop working in the future because they are written in a language no longer supported by it's creator. You would be angry yourself if your code just stopped working, and you spent months debugging it. You can play unsupported games all you want, that does no harm and can't give you issues other then not being able to run them, but you really should not code in unsupported languages. Notice we all say you should not, we are not hacking your computer and deleting BGT from it to stop you from making a choice. So your argument has no logic. Those two versions supported the standard game controller, but back then I could still see and I didn't have trouble playing the game. Now that I'm blind, I don't understand how one would be able to play it. Memorizing the notes and timing the button presses correctly is the only option I can think of. If you create a software, game, whatever, there is no reason for me to say hey let's run full virus scans on this thing because it is very suspicious, it comes from Germany and I don't really like that country because of companies X Y and Z, nevermind you are an independent person not affiliated in any way with companies or the government itself. I have nothing against someone looking more deeply into CSR because I'm pretty convinced it has no harmful code, but that should not be done based on the country it's coming from, rather a precaution against any software. I agree the term racist is sometimes used too often and sometimes it's unneeded, but it does come off like that when you are assuming something is suspicious just because, China. Software can contain malicious code regardless of the country. As I have said previously though, it should get a download page because there's no reason not to have one. We can wait for official documentation, as a translator I fully understand it takes a lot of time to translate something as complex as a screen reader from scratch, but it can certainly have a dedicated download link you can point people to.
