Re: Let's Build an RPG!
Re: Let's Build an RPG! [[wow]] Jayde. This sounds really cool. I'm no programmer, but I can definitely appreciate a great game and yes, you're right, we as blind people do not have too many games of this caliber. Do you plan on starting a GoFundMe or Kickstarter at some point? I realize it's probably way too early for that, but since I'm no great shakes at programming I'll definitely help the best way that I can. Re: Getting the Gate to work on Mac: File Question
Re: Getting the Gate to work on Mac: File Question Yeah, I did notice there's currently no music. It's a bit of a downer but compared to where I was just a little while ago it's progress. Now if I knew which files would allow the Elias engine to work properly. I don't intend to package this and release it to the public. if at all possible I would like to find a solution, not leave as is. Getting the Gate to work on Mac: File Question
Getting the Gate to work on Mac: File Question For several weeks now I have been attempting to get VgStorm's The Gate to work on Macintosh. I thought with it being so close to Halloween it might be fun to give Mac users the experience of playing this game I frankly find cool. I have not had any success doing this, until recently. Can anyone tell me what elias.dll is? Because I can just delete the Wine wrapper file and reinstall if needed I've started experimenting and one thing I did was delete that dll file. Before the game would not load. I would hear the first cut scenes but then get nothing. I haven't played through it yet to see how well it works but now I am able to start playing through the first level. Can anyone give me any assistance here?Holden URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=284659#p284659 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector
Attempting to get VGstorm's the Gate to work on Mac
Attempting to get VGstorm's the Gate to work on Mac Hello everyone. For a while now I have been trying to get Vg Storm's game The Gate to work with Wineskin under Mac. If I can do that I'd like to upload it somewhere so other Mac users can enjoy this game, however I'm not having any luck. Below I've posted the test run log from a game I started. Does anyone here know what any of this means and can they diagnose where I'm running into my issue?WineskinX11: main(): argc=12Waiting for startup parameters via Mach IPC.WineskinX11: do_start_x11_server(): argc=12Attempting to use pixel depth of 24[3403515.575] WineskinX11 starting:[3403515.575] X.Org X Server 1.13.0[3403515.575] Build Date: 20120921[3403515.575] _XSERVTransmkdir: ERROR: euid != 0,directory /tmp/.X11-unix will not be created.[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension Generic Event Extension[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension SHAPE[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension MIT-SHM[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XInputExtension[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XTEST[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension BIG-REQUESTS[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension SYNC[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XKEYBOARD[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XC-MISC[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XINERAMA[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension PseudoramiX[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XFIXES[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension RENDER[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension RANDR[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension DAMAGE[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension DOUBLE-BUFFER[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension RECORD[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension X-Resource[3 403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XVideo[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension XVideo-MotionCompensation[3403515.578] Initializing built-in extension GLX[3403515.578] x: 0, y: 0, w: 1280, h: 777[3403515.595] (II) GLX: Initialized Core OpenGL GL provider for screen 0[3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/75dpi, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/100dpi, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/cyrillic, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/misc, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/OTF, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/Speedo, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path e lement /opt/X11/share/fonts/TTF, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/Type1, removing from list![3403515.596] [dix] Could not init font path element /opt/X11/share/fonts/util, removing from list![3403515.696] noPseudoramiXExtension=0, pseudoramiXNumScreens=1Engine Used: WS9Wine1.9.21Hardware: Hardware Overview: Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro12,1 Processor Name: Intel Core i5 Processor Speed: 2.9 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 2 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 8 GB Boot ROM Version: MBP121.0167.B17 SMC Version (system): 2.28f7Graph ics/Displays: Intel Iris Graphics 6100: Chipset Model: Intel Iris Graphics 6100 Type: GPU Bus: Built-In VRAM (Dynamic, Max): 1536 MB Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x162b Revision ID: 0x0009 Metal: Supported Displays: Color LCD: Display Type: Retina LCD Resolution: 2560 x 1600 Retina Retina: Yes Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Automatica lly Adjust Brightness: Yes Built-In: Yes URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=282965#p282965 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector
Re: Porting Windows games to mac using Wineskin
Re: Porting Windows games to mac using Wineskin I have used a VM in the past, but in my experience they are slow and there are many delays. In the later levels of the Gate for instance, I died because swarms of enemies would show up and I wouldn't be able to jump out and then attack quickly enough. When I would hit a key there would be, I'll say, about a half a second's delay between the press of the key and what was supposed to happen when I pressed it. Porting Windows games to mac using Wineskin
Porting Windows games to mac using Wineskin Hello everyone.I'm not sure if I should post this here. I'm not developing my own games but I have been experimenting with and working on trying to get Windows titles to work on Macintosh using Wineskin with some success. Lately I have been interested in titles from VG Storm. I don't know if anyone here can help me or give me any suggestions but I wanted to tell you all how that's been going. I have been able to get Paladin of the Sky, Adventure at C: and Manama to work well. I was able to install the Sapi SDK and the game and they ran natively on the Mac. If anyone has some server space and wants to host those titles so other Mac users can have a place to download them that would be great, but I've hit snags in The Gate and Psycho Strike. At the same exact spot in those games I can't go on. After the first cut scenes The Gate won't let me start playing the first level. I hear the background ambients but I hear no enemies and the keys do no thing. In Psycho Strike I am able to finish the first battle scene but after that I'm not taken to the screen where I pick my gang's goal and then move onto the base. Does anyone have any thoughts here? I am also taking suggestions of other games. I'd really love to see more games get ported onto the Mac. I realize the amount of Windows users still outweighs those of us with Macs, but I think in the last few years more people are buying Macs and I think a Mac version of a game would only bring more money into the developer.
