Re: BBC BASIC , is it good?

bbc basic is a lot older than 2006. it was made for the bbc micro computer back in the late 70's and somebody made a windows port of it for fun. i wouldn't bother with it.

Re: need a programmer for upcoming assessible mobil game

ok. so you have an idea for a game but no details. you have a story, but we don't know what it is and you think you have sounds. personally I wouldn't touch that with a borrowed proverbial but if I was a programmer that could do what you wanted, i'd want at least 50 thousand and at least 25% of any profits. I think you're better off learning to program yourself. don't run before you can walk.to explain, I have heard plenty of people saying, I have a great idea for a game and I have sounds. they think they did the hard bit. the idea is the easy bit. the sounds would probably have to be changed anyway so you've got sound editing and creation on top of that, and then the coading which is the hard bit. it's not just a case of typing in push up arrow, guy moves forward and makes footstep noise. that's possibly 20 lines of code just there depending on how it's all made.just for another example: it's like saying, I have a great idea for a book. it's about dragons. how much will you charge me to write it for me?sorry if that sounds harsh but unfortunately that's reality.also, if you want somebody to take you seriously, the word assessable in your topic name really doesn't help.

Re: how to encrypt sounds but allow users to change or add other sounds

I think that's what I suggested. so you would have default sounds that can't be changed and a folder people can put their own in to with an option to use their own if they want to.

never tried but I would imagine the easiest way would be to have your built in sounds and an option to use modded sounds that people could put in to a folder.

have to agree with @11 here. was vague and I clicked to find out what it was about too. 2 minutes of my life I won't get back. also, @1 if bgt is so easy and cool that you won't change languages, why are you having to ask questions on simple things?

Re: how do I make the kutseen like in manamon and bk1 2 and 3?

I can kind of understand @9's point but it was over the top. if you have a background in coading then these things seem obvious. but it is a little harsh to yell at somebody who's starting out and learning as they go.

Re: Sonus Game Console GDE - looking for developers

it's hard to described the game development environment but it is really simple to use once you get the main concepts. it's pretty much menu driven but the best way to find out about it would be to go download it and play with it yourself. I helped with some of the testing and we picked it up pretty quick. unfortunately I've been lazy and haven't gotten round to making anything with it but it does also have a debug mode in it where you can play the games you make on your pc to test them out.

well as one of the few people that have seen the prototype, and that was a very old version, I can say it'll be worth waiting for. I can't wait to get my hands on one myself.
