Braille cursor when sending text through screen readers
Braille cursor when sending text through screen readers Hi everyone. Does anybody know if there's a way to have a blinking cursor on the braille display when sending text to braille through screen readers, not with tolk or any already made library, but by either using the COM or dll for the given screen reader, or some undocumented function in bgt. I tried screen_reader_braille, and it worked fine. However, it didn't have any possability of having a blinking cursor, and you had to call it in the while loop to actually make it output anything. Re: Interfacing with screen readers through programming languages
Re: Interfacing with screen readers through programming languages How is the braille function used? The only way I found was to call it inside a while loop. I downloaded the game you mentioned, but the source code doesn't come with it, so I don't know how it's used there. Re: Interfacing with screen readers through programming languages
Re: Interfacing with screen readers through programming languages It would be interesting to know what the other undocumented functions are. But I still have to try to solve the SAPI4 dll problem. Re: Interfacing with screen readers through programming languages
Re: Interfacing with screen readers through programming languages I know, and it works perfectly, but there are a few disatvantages:BGT has no way of finding out if a screen reader is speaking or not (this might actually be impossible to do, but if it isn't, that could be written in a dll).BGT also can't output text to braille through screen readers (again, this might be impossible, but it should be possible). And, BGT hasn't got SAPI4 support. I've tried making a dll, but there's one problem, and that is that the speak function has to wait until all the text has been spoken, otherwise it just cuts off and never finishes the text. I don't know if there's a way around this. Let me know if there is. Interfacing with screen readers through programming languages Programs like BGT, and the accessibility scripts from Access4Music, interface with screen readers like JAWS and NVDA, through com objects and dll files. Is the way to do this documented anywhere? If so, is it only possible to speak information, or is it possible to send information to the braille display?
