I've noticed this usually happens when lots of sounds are playing at the same time. this happens to me as well in cp when playing take the cows back game. regarding not getting logged out when you lose a dfc, it all depends on what map you are in. the only exception being pk. The survive the wild map! This is a map of the locations of the players currently on the game. For privacy reasons this does not show player names, just a cool list of whare stw is being played in the world! Pretty cool! Keep in mind that I respect your privacy, and this is not a feature to break it. Anytime in the game if you decide you don't want your location to be visible, simply type /private into the in character chat, and it will completely destroy any notion of your location from the server. If you decide that you actually do want to show your location again, just type /private again in the in character fiend and your location is back!
