SC is in my opinion the best, just think up a good concept for your character and don't give up. If the staff reject it they'll give a reason and if you read the help files or use the support command they'll work with you. It is very worth the time. I realize not everyone is into SC, but honestly I've played a lot of games over the years and find I really enjoy the mechanics and even the people, and the storyline. I've always loved the space program and SC is the most realistic to what could be real that I've found. I realize the timeline split, but its still heavily realistic.

Here are my thoughts in no particular order.Miriani.I've played it on and off for 13 years. Its cool when they release something new but gets grindy quickly, and they don't release new things often. They were supposed to release relics 12 years ago, along with a number of other things. I also hosted there for 2 and a half years. I ran many events, and had a lot of fun, but ultimately they did not like the intensity of my events and so we parted ways.I still log in from time to time, but the playerbase is mostly disgusting. The fact that people can take a battlecruiser they had to pass a high guard test to get and then grief the playerbase at will is disgusting, but the hosts don't care because open ended, they say if you want police make them, but no one has ever been able to do that because griefing is more fun.SC, I've been playing this one on and off for 11 years.The mechanics are amazing. I love how you unlock things as you progress and they add new activities and things to do quite a lot. They also seem to have more staff involvement and more realism.I just got back into it with a brand new character and am stuck at the character concept/profile stage but once through that I know it'll be smoothe sailing. I think this is more me than them, I understand the help file, I understand the question when you type profile about the concept, but I am struggling to condense only the necessary information. We'll get there though.At least in SC I don't have to worry about being blown up by some jerk in his battlecruiser because my toddler turned off my computer or losing my 4 billion credit gunship to another jerk just because they have a few mates with BCS and chase me into uncharted because I'm trying to complete a mission given by the game. Yep, Miriani has those things and more.I look forward to seeing new things soon, and I keep an eye on both games.

Has anyone reached a planet in sector 7 where the mission is to have 40 drones in storage?I've built 2 factores, have crystal and ore going into warehouses and into the first factory to make computer parts which go into a second warehouse and from there into the robotics center. The other one I have an ore driller going to a warehouse into the factory to make building materials, and then into the warehouse to store them but it won't let me connect the building materials warehouse to the robotics center. When I go to connect the robotics center isn't even listed.Does anyone knoww hat I might be doing wrong here?Thanks!

I recommend either Mirianitoastsoft.net 1234or Star conquestmoo.squidsoft.net Both also have soundpacks.Miriani is much more open ended, SC has more things in place to prevent piracy and things but both are good games.Miriani's soundpack can be found by typing @soundpacks in the game.SC's soundpack is linked to in a topic in general game discussion.I hope this thelps

The reason for having you have 25 industry points before submitting a concept is that they feel you need to get used to the game and understand the world and the theme a bit first. It shouldn't take you too long to get 25 industry if you do the stuff given by the cadet officer and the missions on SVC and such. As for the shopping guide, I hear one is in the works again, but I'm not sure. As for updated soundpacks the one on this topic seems to be pretty good.

So, I played for a bit this morning. Here are my observations so far.I have a big problem with having to type save to save ones progress, as evidenced by this bit of text from the game.You are a newbie, so your data has been automatically saved. Past level 50, you will need to type save to do this regularly, or purchase the autosave donator item.I have a problem with this, because the MOO checkpoints automatically. Why make people pay for something your MOO already does?Character creation seems to have a lot of questions and be very cluttery.Some questions have over 150 options, that is a lot for a newbie.I like the addition of the academy.I'll report more as I figure it out.

I've tried it, and some of the issues I had.It did not feel newbie friendly.You had to type in a ton of info when trying to create a character instead of just picking stuff from a menu.The soundpacks weren't available on the website.It seemed very, very cluttered for a newbie, but my biggest issue was the lack of spellchecking on both your website and the game itself. I know we all make typos now and then, but it just makes your game look like a kid put it together.

So, if you could have a soundpack for any mud/moo/etc. What game? This will be made in Vipmud.  Please list the game title, the connection info, and a few great things about the game. We'll try them out, and based on number of votes and our experiences we'll pick one. Games with existing packs can be submitted as well if you'd like an improved pack. If this is the case, please tell us where the current pack can be downloaded and what you'd like to see improved. If we get enough votes for a game, and if we can play it and like it, we'll work on a soundpack. No promises on its greatness, but we'll try.

Their is an in game command called @soundpacks that lists packs for vipmud, mush, tintin and such. I think you can find it on the website as well. I personally use the vipmud pack as it is the most extensive of the lot.

type bprompt and prompt to turn off prompts. Also go through the academy, it helps a ton. Read help VI in the game it also helps. Talk to Pwar for help on getting the mush soundpack. Start with the academy and that'll lead to other things.

I don't think one is better than another.I've tried the 4 you mentioned. I find each has strengths and weaknesses.Miriani was my first, and while its got good aspects, it also is very open ended, and there aren't a lot of events anymore.SC forces roleplay to an extreme level and likes to bann people for no reason but has good events.CR is very complicated or that's what I found.Prom seems to change a ton and doesn't seem to be very stable.Maybe I'm missing something.

@SLJMy main issue is getting all keys to pass straight through to the VM. I'm using VMware 8 with an xp VM if that makes any difference.I need an insert key for NVDA to work properly, and I believe last time I tried it I had issues with arrows working strangely, and control arrow combinations. I believe control command f gives you full screen view which seems to help and I might have that combo confused a bit. That seems to help but I still have the minor issues outlined above.If someone would only create an accessible client like VIPMud for the mac.

Tintin or another client?

Hi all!I'm not sure if this is where this should go as its related to gaming but also to computing.I've been reading the forum for quite a while now as I happen to be Mrs. Nocturnus, as it were.I am simply wondering if anyone has managed to make tintin work on the mac and installed the Alter Aeon or Miriani soundpacks?If so do you have a set of instructions to follow?I folloed the information linked to on Alters website which led to Stormdragons github pages but those directions are quite old and well they don't exactly work anymore.I looked up mudder but can't find that either.I'd like to migrate fully to my macbook air I got like 5 months ago now when Nocturnus got his mac mini.I know I can run a vm, and I have VMware, but getting keys to pass through seems difficult, and if you accidentally command tab instead of option tab for alt tab it takes you out of the window which then makes a mess of it all!
 I used to know how to make keyboard focus go completely into the VM when I had my macbook pro back in 2012, 2013 but I can't remember what I did to make that work.Any thoughts or assistance would be greatly appreciated
