Here's my latest assignment: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ncu2nwjvtfns0 … 3.zip?dl=0As you encouraged us to redo assignment 2 to get better practice, I did so and included the redone version of it in this pack as well. Maybe you could look at it again? When it comes to processing your voice, I tried to filter out humming and hissing sounds which were present in the background, which is a delicate thing to do because process too much and you end up cutting important frequencies; too light a touch and you might as well not put one on.

I went for an ice spell. Because I wanted to fade out the whole project, I made an extra track and used a volume envolope after I had routed all the other tracks to it, since I didn't know whether there was a command to fade out the whole project as Control +Alt +O only works on items and the action list (f4) didn't turn up anything in that regard either.

Re: Accessible Sound Design - First Lesson Up, Interaction Ending 13/4

@101, Thank you.I see what you mean with the radio. One thing I am generally confused about is that if you go below -60dB on band gain, it will not have any effect on the track, even though you technically can go further down. I've tried setting the general output above 0, just for testing purposes, so I could see if decreasing the band gain by more than 60 would have an effect then, but it didn't. I'm wondering why you'd be able to go further down if it doesn't change anything.Regarding the underwater assignment, I thought we were limited to frequencies between 20 and 2000 HZ as instructed in post 79. I totally get why setting it to 6000 would be a better choice though. As for removing the wind, I believe .15 is not enough to do the trick, at least not with how I have set up the other sliders and you did mention a limit of .2 as well. I found .65 to be a suitable option, but I could still hear a low rumbling sound as the track was progressing further.@ironcross32, oh he did mention a high pass filter to cut everything below 60 HZ for the optimized voice, so you did comply with the instructions.

I'm very interested in this course. I already make music with Reaper, but there's always something to be learned right? Also, I recommend you use the SWS Extension, which extends the functionality of Reaper. The website appears to be unavailable at the moment. However, I'm guessing it will be back up, as the latest version was released less than a month ago and there is no reason to believe this extension has been discontinued. If it should, for whatever reason, not be up soon, let me know and I can provide a link to the latest version.

Hey Chowy,I have installed an English trial version of JAWS 16 on one of my computers - note that I couldnt uninstall the old version of JAWS that was installed. The graphic driver is up to date; and guess what? JAWS reads all sorts of different Swamp menus perfectly fine, both when graphics are on and off. At least the speech does, my braille display is not supported, so I guess Ill keep using NVDA, unless theres a way to fix this.I wonder why two different languages of a program make so much of a difference. I mean, its the same program and thus every language should include the same features. Finally, I have another question: Is there a way to get an English copy installed on the PC, which the German version of JAWS 16 already runs on, without having to reenter the license key? Thanks for all your help Chowy!

Hi Chowy,Thanks for your help. Im currently using the German version of JAWS 16. The problem is that I cant just go and uninstall JAWS because I dont have the license. I bought JAWS but wouldnt be able to reenter the license key, unless I phoned the company and asked for it. Anyway, I had a reinstall recently, but I guess the suggestion was to make sure that Im using the English version of JAWS. Is there any other way to install the English version without losing the license key?Further, you said that I should go to the computer Im having the issue on. That would be four different computers then with JAWS versions 11, 15 and 16. The only thing those have in common is that they are all using the German version of JAWS. I wonder why that should make a difference.Anyway, I tried to update my PCs graphic driver, but it was up to date.Im really quite lost on what to do.

Re: Swamp download error

Thats no bug. If you use NVDA, the speech wont read the same repeatedly. For example, if you press b and it says Go north 35 tiles but you missed it because you were fighting some zombies, and you press b again, without the message having changed in between, NVDA wont read the same again. You have to press control to clear it, and pressing b will give out the desired message once more.Im not sure if thats what you meant, but if so, I hope that helps.

Re: SoundRTS optinal soundpack

Since you are using SoundRTS 1.2 alpha 9, you already have the crazy mod. Activating it works the same as activating the sound pack. Open the SoundRTS.ini file again, scroll down to mods = soundpack and add the proper name of the crazy mod folder, so in the event of using the version of the crazy mod, which comes with the currently latest alpha version of the game, the folder is called crazymod8.2. Eventually the line should look like this: mods = soundpack, crazymod. The final thing you have to do is to launch the game and enjoy playing.

I think that would be too many coincidences if every single of them would lack some driver updates.About reinstalling JAWS, I have to tell you that I cant do that. The reason is not the lack of required knowledge, but the fact that I dont have a license code right now. I have bought it, but its a bit more complicated. Briefly, Im just not able to reinstall it either.Though again, having this issue on various different computers with different Windows and JAWS versions are a bit too many coincidences, taken into account that others didnt have this problem and just four PCs Iv

Swamp and JAWS

2015-02-09 Thread AudioGames . net ForumGeneral Game Discussion : the blasting gd via Audiogames-reflector

Swamp and JAWS

Hi guys,Ive been trying to play Swamp with JAWS for several years now. I tried it on four computers, including JAWS versions 11, 13 and 15, Windows Vista, 7 and 8/8.1, 32 and 64 bit. When I open up Swamp, the speech doesnt say anything and the braille display doesnt show any text either. (Yes, I set the screen reader on Swamp to JAWS for that matter.) This happens when graphics are turned off. When they are turned on, JAWS speech does read the text on the screen, and the braille display does too. However, when graphics are on, the text is only read to a certain part. From that point on, I can only read character names from other players or nothing at all, as there are just empty lines. As if that werent weird enough, the text jumps up and down on the braille display: First, there is the text, and then a blank line, then the text again, followed by another blank line and so on.I had other players of Swamp telling me that they can play Swamp with
JAWS without any problems, that with graphics on and off. I tried various scripts too, which didnt help either. Please dont tell me I should just leave JAWS and stick to NVDA. Im already using NVDA for playing Swamp because it works perfectly fine, but telling me I should use NVDA instead wont fix the issue I have, as Im trying to find out why JAWS doesnt work for me, but for others it does.I had a similar problem with Goldwave, which Im also using NVDA for due to JAWS not working as it is supposed to. Again, I had people telling me it works all fine for them. I also tried using some JAWS scripts for GW, but that didnt work either.Any help would be appreciated!

Re: SoundRTS optinal soundpack

If youre not using the crazy mod, go to the user folder, which is located within the game folder(e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\SoundRTS unstable\user\)and open the file SoundRTS.ini. Find the parameter that says mods = and write the name of the sound pack or mod you want to use, so if you want to use the pack that comes with the game the line will look like mods = soundpack. You should definitely check out the crazy mod. It features eight different races (ten if you play the latest beta version), and it guarantees a lot of fun.
