Even though mine is automatic, i taught myself how to place the needle, as long as you have a toan-arm lift, which most players should have, you should be fine. Honestly, while the advice is helpful, i'm even more discouraged because your post speaks to a feeling that i have had for a long time about alter aeon, which is, the game takes a lot of grinding to get good, and i really think it does not bode well for solo players. I'm thinking of rooms with instakill mobs, mobs with ridiculous defense or health, obscure quests, monna regen being a pain in the ass, and having to worry about cast level, or, oh crap, i'm not strong enough to Cary around all this cool equipment i found. My point is, i'm so worryed about staying alive and my characters stats, i can't enjoy the fantasy asspects for very long, hence my on again, off again relationship with the game. Plus, i never felt that the game allowed you to get powerful, and enjoy it, and while i understand that it's so you can feel challenged no matter what level you are at, i just want to have the taste of victory, which manages to escape me every time i come back. Can i cast ball lightening and destroy a boss, or maybe web of fire can simply wipe out a room of mobs, just once, please. Re: Monthly chat May 2017 Well, this is the first time in a while i have posted on one of these topics so here we go. I'm playing the unofficial Squaresoft mud, which throws asspects of final fantasy 5, 6 and 7 and Chrono Trigger in to one game, and has plot from all games from what i can gather. Learning the cintax and commands took a while to get used to, but i'm managing alright. I like the combat system a lot, as it is slowed down, and actually turn based, although still real-time. The player base is friendly, and the first boss of the game killed me, and someone res erected me right away, which was nice. Like Alter, you lose experience, but you don't have to find your corpse or anything like that, unless i'm missing something. Speaking of Alter, my arqmeister character was purged, which i'm ok with, as it was my only character in that game for the past several years, and truthfuly, it was rather imbalanced. Can anyone advise me on the order of classes i should pick for creatio n of a new character, as i would like to jump in to that game again. I like necro a lot, but i was pretty squishy using a necro as my main. I like the mage spells as well. Perhaps warrior should be my first class? Not sure. Other than that, not much else going on, accept i'm re-reading the Hobbit and Rings again. I'm also almost done with the Children of Huren as well, which was a great read, despite a lack of description on some of the battles in the plot. It had a more historical tone, which is fine, as i'm now comfortable with the Silmilrilian, which took me a long time to sit with for long periods. Got a Kindle 8th generation, can't get the screen-reader to work. Hey guys. So, i got a kindle 8th generation, the basic model. the thing doesn't have a headphone jack, so you have to purchase a micro USB to headphone and or speaker adapter for it, which i did. I got sighted help to get it set up, which went fine, but after plugging the adapter in to the device and plugging it in to speakers, the voice won't turn on. I even restarted the device, and did the commands to start and stop the screen-reader itself. Still nothing. I'm a little ticked, because the screen-reader is advertised to work for this device, but i just can't get it to function. Any ideas? Thanks. Can someone tell me how to get open emu running on mac? Hey guys. For those playing emulator games on the mac using open emu, could you tell me how to add games to my library? I know this sounds strange, but i'm not sure how to drag and drop in to that application. When i click on browse for rom, i can't seem to figure out how to add the file. Purchasing an xbox one S, quick question Hi guys, i haven't dropped the cash yet on the xbox one S, but if i can find a sollution to my question, i will. So here is the deal, i do not own any HDMI compatible screens or Tvs. I pretty much just need audio output anyway. But i gather, for narator to work, i'm going to need a display. Do you guys know of any way i could grab a rather inexpensive screen only for the purpose of making everything work properly? I won't be playing with any sighted friends, so size or quality doesn't matter so much to me. I do have some speakers that have the old RCA jacks on them. Could i get a RCA to HDMI converter cable perhaps? I also have some old VGA computer monitors, i'm assuming these might work, again would probably need a converter cable. But i do know that the resolution on them isn't very high, so i don't know if narator would read things properly. Any suggestions? Thanks. Through my university i get free versions of windows server, and starting with server 2008 R2, the audio service is disabled by default, so i thought to get audio i would have to upgrade a working 2008 server to whatever version. Just a couple clicks, and then waited until it was done, pressed windows u to bring up narrator, and i was good to go. The server might only be running the core version of 2008 which is only a shell prompt, i'm not sure, just guessing. Hope this helps a little. I'm on again, off again with linux as well, and while like you, i had a ton of recent inthusiasm to try again, i always reach the same conclusion, linux is fine for servers, but not ready to replace windows or OSX. Usually what puts me off is the minor orca bugs, or how there is no microsoft word equivalent no matter how much people push libre office. Not to mention orca only has one developer right now, and what concerns me the most is when she's gone, then what? Linux accessibility is on the edge of a knife, you never know when it will break, and if we are being flat honest here, it breaks a lot. One thing that drives me nuts, is how those default apps redownload themselves. One thing the start menu has going for it is that it is in alphabetical order. I would lock down internet explorer, and use the combo of nvda and firefox. I say that because, jaws vidio intercept drivers don't play nice with firefox for some reason. You might try to torrent a clean iso, but even that is risky. If you really want xp, your best bet might be just to by a dvd off of ebay or amazon. At first, i thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but the more i read, the more the proprietary nature of the design just bugs the crap out of me. Again, this is from a guy typing this on a macbook air right now, i like this machine, and my iPhone 6, and i'm good right here, i don't need an upgrade, unless i was compelled by some mind-blowing feature, but it's not in the iPhone 7. Now if they do this to any future MacBooks, i'm done with the company. I'm willing to bend quite a bit, as long as it doesn't hamper my productivity. I have spent enough time with windows 10 to conclude that it's not for me. So it's down to apple and linux boxes, let's hope apple doesn't trash it's computer line as well. Re: New IPhone september 16 2016 I have a mac and an iPhone 6, and my contract is up next month. I don't think apple is god at all, and would not mind going Android even if it causes me some accessibility headaches. Linux has taught me to appreciate having choices and options, so i expect that from android as well, even if i have to root my phone to get what i want, i'll figure it out. The mac is a great platform, but i don't have as much freedom as i would like, sure i could run virtual machines to play windows games, but that is why i have a dedicated gaming machine. If apple was a one stop drop for everything, that would be great, but it's not, and the flowers in the walled guard in get stinky after a while.
