Re: Monthly chat November 2017 Hello everyone,It's been a long while since I've written my last post on this forum, and perhaps the monthly chat topics.First off, I've been quite busy with my M.B.A assignment tests and mid exams, and playing on RS Games between the exams, so wasn't able to post here. My second mid exams are fast approaching, and if my memory serves me well, they start on November 20, and there won't be any break thereafter, as I'll have to prepare for the first semester examinations to be held from december 4, and the external practical exams for the IT Workshop to be held just days before the semester exams. That being said, I'll be quite busy for long while in the near future.Keeping that aside, I had my mac upgraded to High Sierra, and the experience so far has been a positive one, though I wonder why the image description feature of VoiceOver isn't working as expected. Other than that, I haven't experienced any major problems that could degrade my user experience.In game related news, I've been playing a lot on RS Games, and I'm enjoying it a lot. I, however, stopped playing MUDs as I lost interest in them, mostly because I was more interested in playingg on RS Games.So there you have it, alll about what I'm doing now. Well, if my memory serves me well, I'm posting for the second time in the monthly chat topics.Well, may has been a fantastic month for me. I got through a state level examination known as AP ICET (Andhra Pradesh Integrated common Entrance Test) for admission into MBA and got 85th rank all over the state. Now all I need to do is to wait till August, for my MBA classes to start.In other news, I'm playing a lot of alter aeon lately, and have participated in the two summer event acts that are currently open, and I look forward to completing the other event quests that may pop up in the near future. I'm also playing cleft of dimensions, so far it has been good, although the mantic ant in the rabbit forest has been difficult for me at least, probably due to the poison, without w hich I could kill it easily. Scanner recommendations
Scanner recommendations Hello everyone,I'm planning to buy a scanner in the near future, but I have some questions to ask. I would like to know if there are any scanners that come with accessible software that can convert printed documents like books into readable text that I can easily navigate using a keyboard, and which work with either windows, mac, or both. I can't afford to buy Kurzweil 1000 or OpenBook or whatever OCR software is out there, but would like to get a scanner without paying extra money only to read printed materials. Can anyone please give me any advice on such scanners?Thanks in advance. OpenBook and Kurtzweil 1000 are very expensive and offer features that are present in other apps. Take, for example, the ability to insert your own comments into a document in OpenBook. Well, for a much lower price, you could get Microsoft Office and do the same in Word, there's no need to use OpenBook to insert comments.Thank you all for your recommendations. Here in India, the central government rolled out the goods and services tax (GST) on July 1, and it remains to be seen how much of an impact it will have on the common man in the months to come.In other news, I started to watch tennis matches lately and have watched yesterday's Wimbledon mens' singles final and the women' singles final the day before. Although I could not watch the womens' final from the beginning, both the matches were quite interesting. And that record breaking 8th wimbledon win by Rodger Federer is fantastic. Gaming wise, I've been playing on the RS Games server and a lot of alter aeon. I've been playing with a bunch of friends every morning here in India (at night if you consider the Us timezones) on the RS Games server for the past few days and I hope to continue playing with them.I am soon going to join my M.B.A classes on 26 July at Narasaraopet Engineering College and I am eagerly waiting for that, since I love going to college every day to study and to chat with friends. If reports are to be believed, apple has cut down the prices of all of its products in India, but still, they are expensive, as usual. Re: describe where your from Hello all,I currently live in a small town known as Narasaraopet, in the state of Andhra pradesh, India. This town is part of the region known as Palnadu in the district of Guntur. I live in a relatively quiet part of town, called Prakash Nagar, and I love the broad roads, low traffic, even so low that it makes me feel that nobody visits the area very frequently, and has trees lining the paths, if I remember very well. The area is especially peaceful in the evening, and in the afternoon, around 4 PM or so, I can here children in our neighbourhood play cricket on the road. There are a lot of attractions around town, one of which is called Kotappakonda, a small pilgrim site located some 13 km or so away from town, and is home to a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It's one of the most popular attractions in the area, and I've visited the place three times. One very interesting thing to note about the town itself, is the fact that it has completed it's 100th anniv ersary as a municipality in 2016, which is very great. However, I can't select it as my default SAPI voice in the speech properties dialogue in control panel on Windows 7. my installed eSpeak voices do not appear in the voices list. Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem might be? A problem with windows Update on Windows 7 Hello everyone,I recently had my laptop reformatted and my windows OS reinstalled. After updating to Windows 7 service pack 1, Windows update is taking forever to complete checking for updates. I currently have automatic updating turned off. Looking at my windows update settings reveals that my computer will never check for updates unless asked for. Does anyone have any idea as to why Windows update is taking forever to check for updates? Any help would be appreciated.
