I'm not one who likes to ask for help at all, so if I do, there's a reason. Asking for money help and asking for computer help are 2 different things. I think intent should be taken into account before we complain. As for me, I get money twice per year, and it's usually needed for bills and repairs.

Such as myself right now. PayPal is fine, but my bank account is empty. We had to fix our shower because we weren't able to use the cold water, and that was expensive. I'm hoping I can get some money before February for this new game because I want it, big time.

And yet no one ever gets in trouble for giving me, in particular, grief. In a topic I posted, which has since been deleted, I genuinely asked for help, and voiced my mistrust of a public official who has been known to do dubious things. The responses, and even one from one of our admins, was beyond nasty and not relevant to the issue at all. I'll be up front and say I don't trust some of our staff members. I'm not saying any names or attacking anyone. I've just seen behaviors from people in the past that seemed extremely unreliable. I feel like a target on this forum instead of a member, But unfortunately, Applevis can't solve everything, nor can DuckDuckGo, which I use in place of google.As I've said several times before, I feel like this forum is extremely biased against having female staff members. I don't go poking my nose in everyone's gender, but I feel like this should be more equal.  We have enough inequality in the rest of the world, which we can't do much about. However, we can do something about it here, so why don't we try. I'm training to be an advocate, and I'm all for trying to be fair. Yes, I've done stupid things in the past. Yes, I've made stupid mistakes. No, I'm not perfect. I never said I was. All I want is a little bit of respect, and to have my opinions and concerns acknowledged as more than "bullish*t." I'm really fed up with the nastiness, when I'm trying to stay out of everyone's hair. I'm human, I have feelings, and I want them to be respected. Is that too much to ask people?

Women lack representation

I said this elsewhere, but I'll say it again. We, need, more female staff. There are plenty of females here. I'll bet they don't come around as often because women have no voice in decisions here. Failing to allow this just reinforces the idea that the blind community has a major prejudice against women. I don't think you want that, so if I were you, I would do something about it.
