Re: The Road To Rage I: Fires Of War -- First Person Shooter

Hello all,  some unfair behavior has been going on in Road to rage, that I thought would be worth mentioning.  So when I actually started getting kills every once in a while on rtr, I came up with a name for myself, "come and get owned," just to have something catchy and cool sounding. I understood that my skills on rtr were far from good, and still are far from good, but I just wanted to have a bit of fun with my name choice.  Recently, however, something has been happening when I was on Omar's server. Omar Alverato, presumably the server owner, has been changing my name to things that would make fun of my poor rtr skills. Names like "aim here fire" and "fire" have unexpectedly become mine. A few days ago, for example, I died and the server announced that "Aim here fire" was owned by (I don't remember who I was killed by... lol), and origionally thought there was another player with that name on
the server. When I checked the death match stats, however, I discovered that it was in fact me who had died. At first I just wrote it off as an accident, that is until my name was changed twice in 30 minutes today.  First, I was getting killed a lot, so Omar changed my name to "Fire." I changed it back, but shortly there after I was known as "aim here fire," at which point I quit Omar's server, and went to Chris's server, which luckily happened to be up and running at this time.  So Gorthalon, is there a way that you could set up the main server, or could any of the others (Chris, dragonapps.org... which I assume is also Gorthalon, and NS studios) make sure your servers are up most if not all the time? This way I can have a place to enjoy road to rage where I will no longer be ridiculed for my beginner level skill.  And if none of you guys are able to keep your servers up all the time (shutting your computer, turning i
t off), I understand. If that becomes the case, I will think about adding a server of my own.Sorry about the long post URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=163305#p163305

You proove a point about the whole moves thing, but then again there's nothing wrong with the windows version having a few features the IPhone didn't, plus the "shake me" move isn't implimented in there yet.but yes the unlockables would be good. Even that AI keyIsFull created would be a nice unlockable.  Also, further down the road, if you switch coding languages perhaps, I think mouse jestures would be cool. Similar to the Iphone jestures but like for lifting, you could push your finger up on the mouse as if you were lifting something, and for shaking you could move your finger up and down real fast to simulate shaking... just an idea if you ever get around to adding mouse jestures. Like it would store your scores, and it would announce them when you finished a game.  Also, maybe you could add unlockables. Perhaps you could include unlockable levels, moves, difficulty levels etc. It would give the player something to try for... don't you think?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=163188#p163188

Secondly, I'd like to make a suggestion of my own:  I mean to say this just as it is, and don't mean to convey a harsh aditude by it. But you guys, Aprone has a lot on his plate right now. So for now, even though your suggestions are great and completely reasonable, and I'd be shouting out suggestions of my own right now because I'm so excited, let's kind of eas up on asking aprone for stuff at the moment, and continue to think of good ideas for him when he gets time.  Or another suggestion, you guys continue to post your wonderful suggestions, and Aprone, when you have time, come and look ba

Assault_freek, I agree wwith your post. Maybe I should've done a bit more searching than I had done previously, but the only reason this escalated was that thetruegamer started his little anger filled rants regarding my posts, and comparing asking for walkthroughs to asking people to clean your house, cook for you, hold your hand, and do all your work. I agree that this argument needs to stop, and there for a while it was good--2 other posts I made were about completely different topics, and I had let the subject go and moved on. Did thetruegamer have the same idea? n, his first post in 3 days on this forum was all negative, and now whatever other people were talking about--someone could've asked an important question on the previous page of this thread, is now all forgotten because some people can't stay on topic. So from now on, as I'm sure all other people wish for, I will say no more on the subject at hand, and wish that all previous conversation re
garding Road to Rage will start back up, because what other people have to say about the game itself is more important than this argument. Thetruegamer, wanna continue this, then send me a PM. The only reason I suggest this is because I never check my PM, and you'll have a place to rant and rave that won't be disturbing the other innocent members of this wonderful forum.edit: woe, arcmeister, didn't realize you were typing your post as I was typing mine... lol!URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=162503#p162503

Re: The Road To Rage I: Fires Of War -- First Person Shooter

The only reason I suggest this is because I never check my PM, and you'll have a place to rant and rave that won't be disturbing the other innocent members of this wonderful forum.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=162503#p162503

Re: The Road To Rage I: Fires Of War -- First Person Shooter

You know what thetruegamer, I'm not gonna put a harsh aditude in this post, because frankly I like posting to this forum and reading its interesting content, and I don't want a ban. But thetruegamer, next time you ask for help and I'm there to read it, I will be sure to remind you that asking for someone to explain something to you is like cleaning your house and doing all your work for you. And not only that, but some people in this world are as smart as Albert Einstein, while others are limited to a small bit of knowledge. I'm not calling anyone dumb or stupid on this forum, but some people don't think like you do and need help for certain things, even if it means finding a simple folder--and it's not your right to judge them for that. I don't care if someone is as dumb as a newborn cave man, it still is not the right for others to judge them. For all you know, thetruegamer, you could get a massive head enjury and forget everything you ever kne
w 5 seconds after you read this, and I'm sure you wouldn't want people judging you for that. We all have our differences, we all have our limitations, and yes, we all have forms of learning, so just let people be how they want to be.  And one more thing, if you're so strongly against people asking for a review, then for goodness sake ignore the post, and act like it was never written. I wasn't telling you "Thetruegamer, give me a review now. You have no other choice!" was I?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=162497#p162497

Hackers could see the code as easily as non-hackers, and all server security is simply gone.Okay, I know this reply is so late, that it probably isn't even worth posting... but I have something to say regarding Mehgcap's post:1. Yes Mehgcap, you have a point here. People can only stay on one server to keep their previous records, so it would not be a good idea to toss out the code.2. Yes hackers could get the code.  But I have a solution for this...Maybe, instead of giving the code out to everyone, Aprone could find someone he really trusts in the audiogames community and give the code to them. Someone who would be willing to host the swamp tide server. As a second thought, like the road to rage, Peop
le could host their own servers. But if you get what I'm saying, they would only get the geer they got from one server while playing on only that server. For example, let's say Mehgcap plays on the StevenD server. He gets 55 kills, and is a giant zombie. But, say the next time he logs on to swamp tide he gets on Aprone's server. He won't have his 55 kilss and he won't be a giant zombie... but if he logs off that server and gets back on the StevenD server, his records will be the same as before--the 55 kills and he would be a giant zombie.  Aprone, this is just a suggestion and whether or not you choose to take it into consideration is up to you.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=162406#p162406

I was a bit frustrated, and sure I might have used a bit of a harsh tone, but it was in no way demanding. I said that I had posted asking for a review, and hadn't got one. As a result, I said I was going to abanden the game all together if I didn't get one, basically implying that I would need a review before I could play this game, and expressing some frustration for not having gotten it after asking for it. And maybe, like I said, I might've put
a little too much harsh tone in what I wrote--I could've reworded it, but it isn't your place to decide that my post conveys a tone that it actually doesn't, and then call me out on something completely untrue. so if I were you, I'd just keep your mouth shut for a while, get your thoughts together, and then post a genuin post regarding either road to rage, or a valid comment on what I said in my previous posts.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=162192#p162192

Hello all,I've seen many posts on the forum contributing to this latest unfolding situation. As angarag and several others have stated, swamp is more than a game for them. It is also one of the games I've held an addiction with for so long; because there is always a goal to achieve; always something to do and people to chat with. When people take software like this for granted, it makes me believe that they view said software not as a hard worked on piece of work for their use or enjoyment, but a source for insulting and hacking and getting free stuff.Come on people, we're all blind or visually impaired, so instead of bashing stuff created in our favor, we need to enjoy what we get. Because afterall, there's not much and our ungreatful complaining will only deter any want-to-be developers.Have a good day,StevenURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/view

Re: Swamp Map Editor!

CAE, if your links are still doing that, maybe you could transfer all the files out of your public folder and into some private folder temporarily so your bandwidth can reset and people aren't clicking the links. Then, if anyone wants a file, you could temporarily host it on sendspace until the bandwidth reset. I know sendspace isn't good for much, but it's good for a conflict like yoursURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=142908#p142908

That sounds good. Maybe you could inclued something like a main menu with create map, create campaign, load map, load campaign, options, save map, save campaign, exit. Oh yeah, how much would this cost?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=142825#p142825

Re: Scrolling Battles 2

In AAC, that was a zip archive. This game isn't nesisarily a game with a computer like story line. Initially, I thought the story line was nothing, just that the objec was to survive, rack up weapon damage, defeet the boss and stuff... I could be wrong though. What you are suggesting sounds like a great idea, but I don't think it would fit in with the title of the game.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=142824#p142824

Re: Scrolling Battles 2

Niklas, what ou are suggesting mason do is like a mixture between AAC and Technishock. That might be fun though. Another thing I will say is that the cut seen idea sounds cool as well. As I'm sure, he has cut seens for the boss number one defeet, and the mtg studios defeet. Also, there is chearing at the end... but it would be cool for you to add cut seens mason.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=142791#p142791

Re: Scrolling Battles 2

Pretty awesome game. It still needs improvements like any old concept demo, but overall I think it has great potential. As for what Connor said, he already has health bonus items that pop up, and there is a very cheep health points upgrade in the store. As far as comments go, I still think you should add armer for the player, or some sort of defense mechanism. Otherwise, keep up the good work!URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=142424#p142424
