Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome By the way, most probably you folks know about the very good podcast of Blind Abilities. If not, and if you want to know more about myTrueSound and AudioWizards, today is the perfect chance since all of that got mixed in the same place. Jeff Thompson always makes a fantastic job, and this time he mixed the game sounds and some game dialogues, with our answers to his questions, in such a way that it really blow up my ears!. Perhaps you want to listen to it. I wish you enjoy it. And I'm agree that it is not an easy task.I know most people wants to play on the mother tongue, specially when they don't speak well English. I would like first to translate the game into Spanish, because I have lots of friends in there and because the size of the market. But as you know, the game has a lots of dialogues, and we need to find a very good voice actor. We were asking from blind people to send us some tests, but what we got so far is now what we are looking for, since we would like to keep the essence of the original Saundaman. So getting the game into Spanish is going to take still some time, and let's see that after. Thanks again for the help. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Yeah, I understand your frustrations and your desires. I actually talked about the game with my blind friends and with my sighted ones, but the blind don't speak english, is a common problem here in Italy, and the sighted are simply not enough motivated to spend on a basic game when they have more complex ones. I'll keep trying though. Maybe we could talk to younger kids? Elementary schools or something like that. All players who have visited this website in the last month know what AudioWizards is, and have read the good critics we got. But did all those satisfied players really share that with their friends from outside this forum?. I believe many of you did, but the most the best. So if you didn't, feel free to go ahead! We really need that.As you know the game includes visuals, and we believe it has enough quality to be of the interest of also sighted players. That's at least what we aimed. To me, better than a kick-starter where people drops some bucks (which is also cool and helpful), it might be more effective for instance to grab the phone and send a whatsapp message to your friends, or write about it in facebook, etc etc. This way you might make us the favor, but also to your friends for sharing with them this wonderful game which actually is not expensive and includes good quality and good enough replay value. We really wonder when will it be the day that the mouth-to-mouth breaks through, and we definitely need your help for that day to come. We're trying to focus our first update on fixing the bugs and major inconveniences but more features and quality of life changes will definitely be added later! As a little teaser for everybody we're looking for a way for the community to participate shaping the game's future in an interesting way. I can't tell anything yet but more things are coming. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Ok, it's time for my thoughts on AudioWizards. First off, let me say well done. The game does an excellent job of explaining the commands, and easing you into the fights. The bosses, while a difficulty spike, present a nice challenge that never feels unfair or cheap. Now, as for what can be improved. The end of the story mode needs something. Maybe a final cutscene, I'm not sure. You should also consider changing the disabled next level button to a finish button.I'd like to see a way of canceling a spell if you choose the wrong one. Maybe swiping down could cancel the spell and immediately allow you to select another element.Just like you can skip the intro, I'd like to be able to skip the ending of the level. When you're in the heat of battle, activating the super spell can feel like it takes forever. I'd suggest adding tapping the screen with three fingers as an alternate method for activating the super spell. It would be cool if when you launched a spell, the launch sound panned in the direction you fired the spell. Also, the hit sound could be turned down a bit as I think it sometimes drowns out the beginning of the next monster's approach. To add more replay value to endless mode, I'd suggest changing the scoring so that the enemies give more points the farther out they are as well as how accurate you are. It would also be cool to see your overall accuracy, number of good hits, bad hits, misses, etc. after endless mode ends.I've only noticed a couple sound related bugs. These occurred on a Galaxy S9 with all the latest updates. The background ambiance continues playing when you pause the game.I left the game paused for a couple minutes, and when I unpaused the game the music didn't resume. When using the hat that changes the background music in Endless mode, pressing retry on the final screen doesn't play the background music it should. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome I picked up the game as soon as I could on Android. I have completed the story mode and it was a ton of fun. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome that level was annoying. It certainly is doable, I don't know if I fluked it when I finally managed it.I used the time between enemies to swipe in a random direction to give me a rough idea of what's what, but sometimes that didn't work. When that didn't work I just resorted to fireing off a spell until one worked.I think I got lucky on the second attempt, so I was able to regain what I lost.I haven't tried endless mode yet, want to finish all levels with three stars first.I only hope that isn't in endless mode, but I also have a nagging feeling that it is.I just finished getting all three stars for level 15, it only took me, three or 4 days.I tend to mess things up when they start to come at you quickly, unfortunately there's not much you can do for that except practice. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome One thing you might try if you want to increase sales would be make the app freely downloadable, and allow the tutorial, first couple levels of story mode, and ond a small portion of endless mode playable as a demo,. The full game would then be unlockable via in-app purchase. Most games I see do well these days tend to use a model like this. Just like Muhammad Hajjar said, the tea Saundaman brings gives you one extra health. There's no cap in the health given and thus if let's say you have three health and three Saundamans bring you tea, you will have six health in total. 2. The high pitch sound is just a way to tell that you're doing a good combo. A better combo fills the Super Spell faster and, if I remember correctly, it also gives better score multiplier in the Endless Mode. You will lose your combo if you accidentally use a wrong spell against a wrong enemy or when you take damage. Hope this answered your questions! Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome @Arkandias, that is an interesting idea. One thing I've always said myself, is that I never mind taking repetitive actions in games so long as I feel I'm part of an ongoing story. take rpgs for instance. If I need to kill 100 goblins to level up, I will be sitting there, fighting the same goblin 100 times thinking "oh my god! this is so boring." If however I have a quest to go on with continual bits of information presented every few goblins it changes matters hugely, prticularly. Indeed I don't know why, but just give me a quest, an objective, and I'm more than happy to play for long periods, even doing the same thing, whilst if I'm just playing for the sake of increasing score or levelling up I'll soon get board. Actually, I'll say in Audio wizards the story and levels you see, the quality of the music etc is quite fantastic, and I'd be more than happy to play through a good more levels of story just to hear what happens and learn about the world. This is also likely an area where the community can help with voice acting and perhaps more music too for different environments (my lady and I would definitely be up for acting in audio wizards). Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Hi!@Defender, I think there's an alternative to your proposal about game's difficulty, one devs semm not to enjoy that much, considering the games we currently find the most. It is, to me, scenario based games. I know a lot of expressions in French that could describe this strategy, but none that I can easily translate here. The idea is that the more you convince the player that he or she is doing something great, the more you'll get him or her into the game itself.Take for example a point and click, a good one if you don't mind, like the wolf among us, what remains of Edite Finch. No real action in these games : actually nothing that could technically bring you into the scenario except that... he's more than good. Voice acting as well as the realisation itself are amazing, making you the main protagonist of something you want to achieve. That's something that could easily be done with an arcade game like audiowizzard too. Of course you keep countering elemental magic with the same five spells, but there's a reason for it. It could last for hours before you start thinking that you're doing the same thing over and over, hours during which you've started a war, encountered friends and ennemies, learnt about a fascinating world...It has a cost of course, we're talking about dialogs, voices, imagination. But it probably cost less than months of coding in order to add two or three more concepts in a game.Best regard,Simon URL: https://forum.audiogames.net/post/459620/#p459620 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Hello there, so love the game and bought it on first day of the launch. I do have a couple of questions, of which hopefully, without spoiling, I can ask and receive answers here so here it goes. 1. When Sallamander brings you the Tee, what in tern does that do for your char? I honestly haven't looked and if I am missing something, feel free to let me know.2.Sometimes when I do perfect hits, I hear a high ping and or dinging sound. what does this mean? Congrats on getting this game out there and vary much love it lots! keep up the good work. I do have an idea as well. In endless mode, you may consider adding different hats, one for faster game play, or difficulty or just things in general to make game mechanics do different things. I have not unlocked all the hats yet so probs some of my ideas are already in there and I don't know it yet. Hehehehehehehe. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome I got as high as level 10 before I decided to go back and try to get three stars for each level. Now I'm trying to get three stars for level 13, which I'm finding extremely challenging, and I thought level 12 was hard.I'm trying to not be one of those people that just breezes through a game and not unlock most of the achievements. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome A really good insight, defender! One of the goals in AudioWizards was to bring something challenging as we have understood, there seems to be a wide array of easy simple games but not so many truly challenging ones. We're gonna ramp up difficulty definitely in any futures levels but your idea to test the limits of the best sounds like something we could do before that. Thanks for that! Also, thanks everyone for the support! Game industry especially for a niche genre can be really difficult so every inch of a support is always super welcome! P.S. I can give some hat hints. There's some special condition in the level 13 that unlocks a bosses hat. Some hats are also tied to the amount of special enemies killed in the Endless Mode. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome I think post 45 brings up allot of useful points, though I think one thing that wasn't mentioned is that the simpler you make the game, the more blind people might play it (most of us aren't that skilled or comfortable with gaming) and then the more copies get soled. Getting to 1 is going to be incredibly hard anyway, so anything that makes that possible is a good thing for Mytruesound's continued existence. But I do think that there is a balance that could be struck and that most devs just don't seem to bother. Difficulty modes, more efforts at replayability, no caps on enemy max stats during endless modes ETC. Get some experienced audio gamers on your testing team, then give them a version of the game on steroids and see how much they can take, then make that into a hard mode or something. It doesn't even need to be that complicated, just taking away any extra lives helps...And I know that running two separate dev paths is difficult, but if you truly do want to sell to as many potential players as possible, then I think it's important to also cater to the experienced players as well. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Hi,First, let me clarify one point since I want to make sure there's no missunderstanding. Despite my position (which tends to be quite extreme as time passes by), I'm definitly grateful for what you did with audiowizards, and more generally with audiogame development.About what shoudl be done to spread the word, that's exactly what I'm doing and so since my arrival in this community. I've bought almost every new audiogame, weather I liked them few or very much. I've been trying to convince friends (blind or sighted) to try them and, if convinced, to support developers.I'm perfectly aware of how hard it is to keep it up, consdering how small the reward is in the end.i'm not so comfortable with English, so I can only hope that my opinion didn't sound to arch or critical. There's a real difference between my opinion about a game, and the fact that I'll allways try to support such projects.Besides, as I said, audiowizards gave me quite a lot of fun for a few hours which is far better than many other projects whose authors pretended to have produced something extraordinary.I supported you because I do trust you, and because I really hope you'll find the money and the motivation to keep working on new projects, which will, of course, learn from the mistakes of their predecessors. Meanwhile, I wish you al the best in your work_Best regards,Simon URL: https://forum.audiogames.net/post/459477/#p459477 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

Similar amount is in AppleVis I suppose. But for some reason, audiogames don't sell enough. Was it because games were bad, they didn't invest on marketing, or target market didn't want to spend money on them? Everybody talks still about Papa Sangre and others classics, but the common point of all those games is that the companies behind them closed their doors because they never got their investment back. And that is one of the reasons why you don't get more complex games. We developers don't last enough time to grow, evolve, and create the games that you all want (and everybody seems to have a different opinion about how a perfect game has to be).In my case, or myTrueSound's, we published now AudioWizards, and we are trying to get MusicMaze by December. We would like also to start with the AudioWizards multiplayer. But you know what? To get the investment back, just to cover the expenses of the salaries of the developers and marketing people (not mine because I'm super cheap and I have put my heart on this), the office rent (we have a small room), etc, we need to reach in the order of 1 copies. Yes, ten thousand, because after the 40 % that Apple Store and other taxes get from us, we will get 3 €, and that is the minimum amount of money that will cost us to keep a team of 5 working for a period of 6 months, and that is the minimum time you need to invest to create the beginning of one of those cool games that everybody wants and many become very critic if they don't get. In order to fulfill this dream, I have been also pitching to investors, asking them to support us and also the blind community, so we could create fantastic games which will sell like a lot. And do you know what they said to us? They said "Show us the numbers". So if we are not able to reach our goals on selling numbers, and show those numbers to them, we won't either got their support neither. And then we might be one, like many others, that just didn't do it, but everybody remembers (or not) because did a couple of cool games that people talked about for just few days or years. So I would say, that if you want that there is a real jump in audiogames' quality and variety, there has to be a change in the way the community supports the industry. If you liked one game, support that developer, not just for gratitude, but to get from them better games in the future. Because that indie developer perhaps has energy and ideas to make things cooler and better, but will die out of resources before has the chance to move forward. Call your friends, to all of them, tell them how much you liked that game you just played, how cool was the story, the sounds, whatever made you feel happy for some hours. Share it with the world, not just in here, but in blogs, reviews, youtube, facebook, twitter, etc. If there is a market, show it to the world, and other developers will come too, I almost can promise you that.I really think that this is the only way that developers like us can do it. That if we make a game that is liked by 85 % of the players, those players take care of spreading the voice and make the mouth-to-mouth really to happen. Otherwise, it could be also Game Over for us, and so the next developer starts again from zero.Somehow I didn't want to talk about this topic, since we are however enjoying these days the small but nice success we got from AudioWizards. But this is a topic that believe me is on my mind everyday, and I just don't know how to solve it by my own. So if we are not able to reach our goals on selling numbers, and show those numbers to them, we won't either got their support too. And then we might be one, like many others, that just didn't do it, but everybody remembers (or not) because did a couple of cool games that people talked about for just few days.So I would say, that if you want that there is a real jump in audiogames' quality and variety, there has to be a change in the way the community supports the industry. If there is a market, show it to the world, and other developers will come too, I almost can promise you that.I really think that is the only way that developers like us can do it. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome @Death, while I take the point about Feer's board, personally I love stat tracking and continuous unlockables myself, then again I freely admit I'm more into personal progress than multiplayer competition, and am far more likely to replay a game in order to win more awards for killing off numbers of enemies or surviving for a certain time than I am to replay just to get a higher rank on a scoreboard. The thing I loved in feer was the constant new missions to do,w hich meant even when you'd done as well speed wise as you were likely to, there was always a new type of challenge. @audio wizards, I'm afraid I don't use spottify, Itunes or other rental platforms since I like to actually own music I download and be able to play it on whatever device I want. If however you put the soundtrack either as a free download, or available to buy on somehwere like Bandcamp or soundcloud where the files were downloadable, that would be awesome. @amerikranian, firstly, might I suggest that before damming the game you actually play it. The experience of playing a game and just listening to a playthrough of it are different, especially on a haptic device, indeed I've often found on Ios myself that games change according to their control scheme, since there is a difference in swiping or hitting keys. Audio Wizards is definitely not a hard game, I won't disagree there, however as I said I did personally find there was more to playing the game than say Lworks old supershot or grizly gulch which just required hitting of arrows, though of course were audio wizards ever to come to pc there would need to be some control scheme changes I think, for example using the mouse to give an analogous experience. As regards action games and progress generally, it seems that with a few rare exceptions, EG King of dragon pass, mobile games on average tend to be designed for shorter, less in depth play than pc titles, even in fields of rpgs like path of adventure, as most audiogames I've seen for mobile platforms have either been fast action arcade games, interactive audio dramas, or short audio adventures. This isn't a bad thing, but where pc audiogames have a lot of history to draw on, swamp, technoshock, Shades of doom, crazy party, the bk series, and most recently new horizons, things are still a wee bit behind in mobile terms, which is a shame since analogue control presents a lot of possibilities for game development, - remember audio defence and that awesome turning system? I'd like myself to see a project for mobile devices which aims directly at a more complex form of action game which takes advantage of the analogue control scheme. For example, imagine a flight sim or spaceship combat game where you controled your ship by tilting your phone side to side or back and forth like a joystick, or maybe having a shooter game where you physically had to turn and tap the screen to walk as in the old somethinelse titles.then again we have been seeing some interesting efforts recently, I was quite impressed with Tank battle for this, and while I've not played circus master and know its generated some controversy, at least its recovering ground audio defence had. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome To each their own. Same goes for coding. Everyone has their own areas of expertise and expectations for games. However, I will agree that audiogames on phones is severely lacking in the action games department. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Hi,@41 I'm afraid I must agree with you to that. Still, I did buy the game, but I did it because I think there's no other way to try to make sure one day a real great game comes out.I did it because I want to support audiogame development, and that's the oly way I found. Besides, the game was quite enjoyable for one hour. Yes it was mainly because we don't have much choice, atleast if we want to play something more immsersive than tekst games (which I do appreciate too don't get me wrong). To go back a little more specifically to your question, why don't we have more complex games ? I guess you're atleast partially right : we're trapped between devs that are full of good intentions, but have no idea of what we can really handle (and how could they? if they take the time to search through what has allready be done, all they will find are space invaders, some fps's, and, occasionnally if they know where to look, one or two games that have a little more replayability value), and other devs, members of the community, blind or not, who know perfectly what can be done, but lack the ambition or the skills to achieve it.So here we are, more than ten years after troopanum, producing the same kind of games over and over again. A blind legend came out some four years ago, it was considered as a revolution but not by us, by the sighted community who discovered at that time that an audiogame was actually a realistic concept. Then they forgot, and here we are, four years later. To conclude, let me say that shades of doom, tank commander, monkey business have all got old and we've all started to forget we thought it was the begining of a new era.Again, don't get me wrong. I'm glad to see that this project has ended into an actual game and, as I stated before, it is pretty good for a first shot. Plus, I'm really happy to see other topics here among the thousands of side scrollers fps's (clones or not). I just wish I could spend more than one day on a single new game without unlocking most of its content. But if I were you, I'd buy it anyway. Just to proove the dev team that it was worth working on that project, hoping they'll continue this way, just a little further.Best regard,Simon URL: https://forum.audiogames.net/post/459399/#p459399 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome I'm gonna be a bit harsh here, even if I know that doing so without playing is in bad faith.I'm trying to understand here, why are we so intent on rehashing Simon? That's what this game is (yes, I listened to Liam's playthrough). No offense, but I'm not buying different types of enemies. It's like A Blind Legend (ABL) all over again. Sure enemies make different sounds (see the elements), sure some of them behave differently (see tricksters), but in it's core, the game is like an advanced Simon. It's not bad, Feer was even simpler, but I wonder why are we so behind on IOS? Is it because the developers don't think that we can handle it? Is it because IOS processing power is low and we can't push it as far as a computer? Or is it because the developer expectations are extremely small when it comes to this community? We can handle this and more, trust me, we can.I'm not buying this, I'm sorry. I'm not buying a game that is an overglorified Simon when I already played stuff like that already (see Sixth sense). I have seen Papa Songray, and though it had issues, it's a lot more advanced than this in it's mechanics. If you disagree, sell me on buying the game. Persuade me that this is different than what I've played before. Convince me that this company has put a unique spin on the original concept. Don't bother mentioning sounds, the music or the story, I will not take those into account. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome There's a difference between leveling up and score multipliers that make it so easy to score that you get *300 the points just for doing missions like switching lanes 30 times or jumping. The whole point of a scoreboard is to promote competition, and I didn't see that happening in a game where your level, which kept increasing, added to that score multiplier. It's not that I'm against them at all, but when you make them dependent on how often you play and cause them to increase so drastically, it takes away from the casual ability to come on and fight for the top score if you were level say, 3 instead of 300. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Hey everybody! Just a quick note about the Endless Mode and how it works. Endless Mode has a hidden score multiplier which is based on the how quickly you react to the monsters. Other things like hats also give different multipliers but they might have drawbacks. Larger the disadvantage from the hat, larger the reward as well. Over million points is definitely possible! We've got some good tips on how to make the game more replayable. Going to look into them and how to implement them in future. The game, while simplistic, is definitely not without its charm. I do agree that the lightning and fire elementals sound very similar at least from a distance. The only real problem I've had so far is that sometimes when selecting spells it can be easy to accidentally pop up the notification center. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Love the game so far. I'd be fine with other rewards, but I'm hoping there isn't a level up system that adds a score multiplier in endless mode. It took away from the challenge of the leader boards. I want to urn that score, and that's much easier when you have a multiplier of like 75 to your score. Didn't mean to go on a rant, but that ruins competetiveness of a game for me. While the difficulty is not steep, the game is fun and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to add in rewards for replay ability, EG make the unlockable hats unlock at increasingly higher scores in endless mode, or give specific random challenge missions or continuous stat tracking achievements as Feer does, for instance getting medles for certain numbers of different enemy types destroyed, numbers of perfect hits or partial hits etc.Even as the game sounds, I suspect it'll be one which will be fun to pick up now and again for a quick blast and maybe wis through the story mode again just to laugh at Sondaman's tea obsession .Btw, it'd be really cool if the music was available on Pc. I know its possible to hear in the game, but its the sort of soundtrack I'd like to hear on my big quad speakers, and since Itunes is the spawn of Satan it'd be cool to have the soundtrack available, apart from be good exposure for the music's composers. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome Hi!I just spent one hour playing, and it ooks pretty good so far. Surely there's no much replayability, but for a first true project it's a really good job.I'm experiencing one particularly anoying issue though. Sometimes while swiping up or down, I would accidentaly open the notification center or the controll center, even if I'm playing with only one finger; I think it has something to do with multiple quick swiping movements which are considered by my I phone as multiple fingers swiping at the same time, just me guessing. Are you experiencing that too? Do you have any solution ? Can we, for example, temporarily disable those gestures?Best regard,Simon URL: https://forum.audiogames.net/post/459172/#p459172 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome @GlorryMasterThanks for explaining, I probably should have waited until Liam's playthrough was totally finished before making a judgement.@DarkI totally forgot there were visuals! I love it when visuals are included for those with partial vision, as truly blind people make up a small subsection of the over all community, and this includes more potential players. With the narrow stereo field option as well, this game can really appeal to many more than most audio games.I may buy it after all, if I have some extra cash in a couple months. It's still not really my kind of game, but the community sourced music and extra accessibility options, as well as the amusing cutscenes are definitely worth supporting.I've also edited post 13 to be more fair now that I know a bit more. I don't want people stumbling across it and getting the wrong idea. Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome
Re: Audio wizards has been released, and it’s awesome I gave this a try last night. the voice acting is amusing, if a bit nuts in places and some of the humour had me laughing, also the sounds and music are excellent, and its good to have an audiogame with actual graphics (I can't see much of them on the Iphone screen, but I do like the sparcles everytime you cast a spell). In terms of gameplay, yes, the game play is more arcade style, however the fact that your using a touch screen does change things up a bit, rather the way that the gameplay in feer wasn't quite standard. For example, each time you hear an enemy there is one of twelve possible gesture combos you need to perform. Whilst this won't be hard for experienced gamers it required enough attention to hold my interest and not become a grind, the way some basic hear and react games do when played for a long periodwhile I wouldn't say this is literally "difficult" it can get a little tricky in some of the later levels when challenges and bosses are introduced, especially challenges and bosses that alter the rhythm or the sounds required, indeed at the moment I'm on an interesting boss who changes all the sound cues into words, and odd as it sounds, when you've got used to swiping up every time you hear grinding rock, having to think "earth," "dirt," or "ground" with the same gestures does change things up some what, or maybe it is just playing late at night whilst tired I don't know . I wouldn't go as far as using words like "strategic," but there is slightly more here than the average boppit, at least for the first couple of hours.I will say, I have two basic problems with the game play. The first, is that the speed you can fling spells and thus the speed of enemies is limited. This means even in the endless mode the game never becomes a crazy enough speed to get ridiculous the way Feer does, and difficulty mainly occurs through finding an enemy out of rhythm or mishearing a cue, the second, is that the levels are a wee bit too short, especially those that involve interesting challenges such as having your swipes changed up, or needing to not hit a given enemy, though whether these will be unlocked as conditions for endless mode I don't know. I also have a miner design niggle. The story mode has I believe 20 levels (I'm currently on level 15), yet endless mode features all the monsters and boss types from the story mode, so unless you want spoilers you can't really play it until you've finished the story mode, (I played endless mode and was killed by a boss I hadn't encountered in the story yet).this effectively means at the point your ready to use your unlockables, you've already unlocked them . so, unless there are extras to unlock in endless mode which I've not run across yet, the unlockable system, whilst fun is not quite as extensive as I expected due to the game design. All that being said, the game is actually rather fun for what it is. Where gold gun took me less than 20 minutes to complete, I've already been playing this one for about an hour yesterday, and have more to do, especially if you need to ace each level to unlock all stars. Also, since the story mode is entertaining in and of itself, its something I could see me replaying in the future just for the experience. So, while the game is certainly not going to change your world, its a nice way to spend an afternoon, or maybe its just that I am a bit less inclined to be down on a game because it isn't a super rock hard absolute challenge and am quite content to just treat it as the bit of fun it is intended to be. That’s because they’re not truly bosses. You need to keep going to discover the real bosses, and trust me, they’re very hard. As for strategy? How so. All I could think of is choosing when to use your power spell, but you only get that half way through the game and it's just one small thing. When you are getting overwhelmed, you need to time the powers spell. You don’t want to use it at the wrong time. I'm probably missing something.Admittedly, the spell selection adds an extra step, but it's quite easy to get that down and the enemies move slowly with very light penalties for being hit, so there is no real sense of urgency.Personally I found sixth sense more difficult and it's similar in allot of ways. Then again like I said, this is from the point of view of someone who is comfortable with a touchscreen and who has played audio games for most of their life. I hope that this type of thing becomes standard in the future for audio games, and I give Mytruesound props for doing it.Over all I think I would give it 3 stars, but that is from my personal view of things as an experienced audio gamer.Either way, I congratulate the Mytruesound team on getting another playable game out there, and I wish them luck in the future! It may be a hear and react game at its core, but it’s definitely not simple. The first few levels are easy, but it gets harder and harder. There is also strategy involved as well and it’s gets pretty intense the further you go on.
