Yeah, I discovered that. It displays the size of the grid, but apparently it was meant to be a debug key.

@blindgamer, Psycho Strike does not have any debugging features/easter eggs as far as I know, but for all we know, they're there and we haven't found them!

Re: Debugging Easter Eggs in games?

Referring to something hidden in a game as an Easter egg goes back to the late 70's and the game "adventure" for the Atari 2600.  Back then, games were made by no more than 1 or 2 people, and to make things worse Atari refused to give those people credit (if you bought the game, all you needed to know was that Atari made it). However, the programmer of Adventure wasn't happy with this, and hid his name in the game. TO get at them you had to do a specific sequence of events which ended up in picking up a particular pixel which, when removed, would reveal them. At first, no one knew about it, not even Atari. But eventually people found out and it became well known, which is when Atari realized what happened and got a little annoyed... so much so that they took the guy to court. And this is where the term comes from as Atari's lawyers referred to this secret as an Easter egg.

Re: Debugging Easter Eggs in games?

Seven centuries or so after creating this topic, I thought I'd come back to it. So, I figured out the debug mystery. Basically, you have to press left alt, space, right control, and f2, and it takes a few tries because you have to press them at once so they'll register. And the d key in Death on the Road, from looking at the source code that was released recently, is probably a leftover from Road Splat, and it actually doesn't work, even if you type the file names for the cars. And here's another battle zone debug, turn on the AI, and if the AI isn't moving, press d. He/they will then tell you why they aren't moving. From the looks of it, this AI is a real coward; he's terrified of booby traps, plus he doesn't like moving when he's ducked.

Re: Debugging Easter Eggs in games?

In adventure at c, when you're in any stage, hold down left alt, right control, and f2 and then press space. An edit box will appear. Type the following:agxvtdazzy15352And then press enter. Here you go. A debug menu with lots of cheats. Note that you'll be marked as a cheater, and messing with those things might ruin your save, so do it at your own risk.

Grizzly Gulch and Chillingham have lots of debug/cheat commands. Try F5 when you're in a sequence that requires fighting, gathering bugs, etc. and it should complete it for you. Hit S in the bank in Gulch, one time only per visit, to get an extra hundred bucks.

Debugging Easter Eggs in games?

So, I once was playing Death on the Road, pushing random buttons for no particular reason, and found that if you press d, you get access to a debug prompt, where you can apparently force a particular car to pass. In battle zone, I pressed c, thinking I would get coordinates for some reason, and instead got the BGT call stack. So I'm curious: has anyone else ever found unintentionally left debugging easter eggs in games? Share them here.
