Re: Deleting Mac OS X Recovery Partition

If I remember correctly, osx base system is a ramdisk of the recovery environment. It is a ramdisk because if it wasn't one, you wouldn't be able to delete/change partitions on the disk. So you just need to delete recoveryHD from within recovery.

Re: Deleting Mac OS X Recovery Partition

Ahh, thanks for that. If I boot using my OS X Sierra install disk, can I safely delete the OS X base system partition? Is that recovery?

Re: Deleting Mac OS X Recovery Partition

Paragon has a bootable backup creator, and I believe it may be free. You can then boot that up, freeing the hard drive for any operations you give it. You could then use disk utility to delete recovery.

Deleting Mac OS X Recovery Partition

Deleting Mac OS X Recovery Partition

Hello,How do I delete my Mac OS X Sierra recovery partition? I want the 600 or 700 MB of space available on my main drive. I don't need the recovery partition because I have a copy of the Sierra installer on an SD card. Any help would be appreciated.
