Fingers crossed I'll be able to present it in Boston at PAX East, I haven't heard back yet! Also, with the woman creating the game with the music box, I think you're talking about Maeskye, we did indeed talk at length during PAX Australia and have kept up collaboration since. She's great because she's not just an audiogame dev - she's bringing this work into an academic space, working on her masters and this is the content. I think that's a powerful thing that will help move us forward if we can get some real academic material that can set precedence and pave the way for future academics. @4 This community has been amazing man. I feel really lucky that people value what I'm doing. I also feel lucky to be involved with Ebon Sky and Blind Sparrow. This right here is exactly the kind of speaking that we need to take globally and really hammer it home. With this kind of presentation, developers won't be able to avoid accessibility anymore, so please for heaven's sake, keep doing these presentations whenever and where ever you are able. I hope you got to talk to that lady who was building the world where the child had to find parts to a music box. I'm going to share this video with my colleague at my former university to help her to understand just what I'm talking about when I talk about accessibility in games so when we build our virtual world, she'll have a better idea of what this all means. Please keep doing exactly what you're doing and do not stop what ever you do.

Increasing Awareness on Audiogames

Hey everyone, Brian here. I'm the guy working on Lost and Hound, and another fully visual audiogame called Legacies that is a submarine stealth/narrative based game. I've also worked with Blind Sparrow on Ready to Roll, and I'm working with Ebon Sky Studios on Sable and Crimson Eclipse. A lot of my work in the past year has been behind the scenes and I have stopped updating demo versions of Lost and Hound, so I wanted to kind of post about stuff I've been doing to raise awareness of the blind gaming scene. Development on Lost and Hound is still going. I'm trying to add systems to the game so that you aren't doing the same thing over and over - following the trail. I'm trying to add little minigames like fetching a ball, playing tug of war or whatever to break it up. I've been presenting at conventions, most recently PAX Australia about the world of blind gaming. My talks are received very well, and people are incredibly interested in learning more about audiogames because it's generally completely new information to people. It is not the best setting, on the show floor but it was nice that Intel took an interest in the audiogame scene.
