Is NVDARemote discontinued?
Is NVDARemote discontinued? The website hasn't been updated since 2017, apparently.https://nvdaremote.com/With NVDA's upcoming addon changes NVDA Remote needs an upgrade to Python 3 to continue working after 2019.3 comes out from what I've heard. However the website says nothing about 2019.3, so I figured I'd post here and see if anyone else is porting the addon who's not affiliated with the website.It will be sad, a step backward, if NVDA Remote breaks forever.It's developed by @AccessibleApps, that's one of the developers' Twitter handles, and they haven't tweeted in a long time. If anyone knows anything about NVDA Remote, that'd be awesome especially since I'm getting a new computer soon. Re: Is NVDARemote discontinued? Sibiac is another addon that is obviously significantly more of a niche than Remote is, but still up for question as to whether it will be compatible with 2019.3. Not only does the addon need updating, but the modified NVDA OCR needs an update as well. Sibiac is an interface overlay addon for making vst's such as addictive drums, Ozone, Melodyne, etc. It uses a combination of Tesseract as well as an interface overlay module for each plugin. If you don't work with a d a w then this addon literally does not concern you whatsoever. Re: Is NVDARemote discontinued? It's still very experimental, that is why I did not post it. It has some crashes, it likes to crash NVDA after I wake it up from sleep mode for me. Also, be aware that if you work with controlling the old version, meaning 2019.2 and earlier things can get unstable as that is not complete yet. One thing I noticed not working is letter by letter reading, so any kind of text editing will be impossible. In short, still early alpha stages.
