Re: Is Vocaloid usable?

And as far as I know, the only languages of TextAssist that are available for listen on YouTube are German and Spanish, but I once saw a video of French TextAssist, but I can't find it anymore. For your curiocity, here are the aforementioned videos. The only language of TextAssist we currently have for download is English currently, as far as I know.German: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RN05jR_PxW0Spanish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx8YAVSuFbs

Re: Is Vocaloid usable?

Multilingual dectalk starts with the awful version 4.6.1. The only one with a second language before that was the one in Text Assist. And no. In fact for all it's worth you'd probably be better off programming in Dectalk than navigating around vocaloid. You first have to do the notes in midi, then in Vocaloid you have to replace every oo with a word. Not as easy as it sounds.

Re: Is Vocaloid usable?

No, DECtalk is multilingual, however the other languages weren't added until, gasp, 4.6.1. However the phoneme sets are hard to find for languages other than English. About programming, though, just because Vocaloid doesn't need phonemes doesn't mean it will be simple. You can't just put lyrics in, you have to probably do things like assign syllables to MIDI notes, or control it in another way. It probably isn't just plug in lyrics and go.

Dectalk requires programming, Vocaloid does not.

Re: Is Vocaloid usable?

It is usable, to some extent. But you have to do your instrumental in midi, and entering lyrics is doable, but somewhat difficult. Over all, if you're willing to put in the time, Vocaloid can work, but I personally recommend Dectalk. Dectalk is free, too, which is most certainly better than Vocaloid.
