One pair of those hanging down the ear thing with the band around you r neck type that go in the ear messed me up so bad I had to get rid of them. The first time I wore them, I got dizzy for like a half hour after. I thought no way that could be the case, something had just come over me, and it was unrelated to the buds. The second time I wore them, I was dizzy for the rest of that day. As much as I would appreciate the earbuds, I use headphones for extended periods of time, and ear buds hurt my ears after about 30 minutes or so. I know, I've attempted to use several different brands including Apple, but they haven't suited me well at all for what I am intending.@7 The actual price isn't $60. I'm only putting that goal up because Go Fund Me said to account for fees for using their service, plus any credit/debit fees. I wanted to make sure I had enough where I'd be able to pay whatever fees they charge, and buy the $41 pair of headphones that I found on Ebay. I did my very best to find the best deal for a quality pair of headphones and didn't want to ask for $100 or more for my goal because that'd be too much for anyone to donate, so that is why the goal is the way it is. @8 As to whether it's a trend or not, I'm unsure. I just figured it'd not be a bad thing to at least ask for what I'm intending to get. I have been trying to find a job and am looking very hard every day for them. However, most jobs that I applied for turned out to be MLM scams that give you the opportunity to earn more money but you have to find your own clients. Not an actual stable online job I can do from home that pays $10 and up per hour of work. The search continues. Also, no SSI because I'm not a citizen yet and still have to go through the process of becoming one legally, in the final steps now but for right now I've been flat broke for the past several months to a year at this point. Still in college though and I hope the degree will give me something concrete, after all, a piece of paper if I get it could help put me in an office for the rest of my life. Anyway, thanks for asking your questions, and I sincerely appreciate anything any of you could donate. i will close out the campaign once the goal is reached, and will not accept any money beyond what the goal is mainly because I figure that'd be scummy.Thanks. Re: Looking for donations I could send you my life P2s. They're bluetooth ear buds. They're the kind that take the tips, and they sound good, I just don't really like them all that much. The pressure you have to put on your ear to press the button is uncomfortable, so I have to grab the stem. They have a charging case that takes USB C. You get like 6 hrs then some time in the case. You can also use one at a time. They're basically air pod knock offs. I still believe it has it's place for the contrivercial fact that it's not a phone. Here me out here. You all know gps is a major battery drain on mobile devices, and most gps apps for both iOS and android don't have the ability to download maps to the device so you're stuck without navigation if your cellular craps out, and as for reading books on it, yeah it works, but pressing buttons is way faster than looking for them. I love my phone, it has it's uses, but I find the trek useful so the phone can take a back seat and be a phone. An example of why using the phone for gps being bad is that in certain parts of Louisiana, my aunt's house being one of them, I have no cell service at all. That'd mean I wouldn't be able to navigate, but sense the trek downloads maps, it's not an issue. Another example would be, what if you went to another country. If that is the only reason you want bluetooth, I don't think it is worth it since there is a simple work around ,for a cheap price as well. But if you prefer wireless more, than I understand. Re: Looking for donations there is an adapter that has both a lightning port and headphone jack, going for just 10 bucks. It will last 1 or 2 years. If you have wired headphones and don't mind them you should also consider this. But if you are after bluetooth specifically, then that's fine. Unlike a gaming console, which is the other topic people are a bit tiffed about, this one doesn't seem too bad, and I'd donate if I had money. As it stands, I just used the last of it to by my wife a much needed upgrade for her wrist, meaning an aple watch. Her doctor recommended it as she almost had a heart attack recently. Looking for donations for a purchase of a Victor reader trek I’m kind of wary about posting this kind of message to this forum, given the less than stellar replies others have got in semi-similar situations, not to mention the fact that I have started audio game related topics a handful of times, and have not gotten responses, however here goes. I have a go fund me site, which currently has a campaign up for the purchase of a Victor reader trek. I, as like most other blind individuals, am on a fixed income, have other bills to pay, and a family to support. I have an iPhone, and I have stated so on the page, but I would like a portable device to be able to read books with. I’m not asking for complete coverage of the cost of the device, but any little bit helps. Also, I feel that the story that I have put up needs improvement. Any takers? :-) Given the current world situation, I am not expecting much donations, would love it though, trust me. frankly, I know others have much more important things to spend their money on.
