Hold up guys, there is some misinformation going on about Actually Love. I'll clarify after a spoiler tag below, but first a response to Sir Badger about key binding:I'm definitely not saying it's not possible. Nor am I saying it's not going to happen. All I was saying is that since basically all of the key mapping logic is custom coded (since the whole engine is) this sort of thing is not as easy as it would be if we were working through some API that intelligently handled all of that for us. At least that's the way I understand it. And of course any time you have a task that requires developer resources, then you have to prioritize it...and since we're still dealing with some inexplicable lag on some users' machines, and still have a couple of tenacious crashing errors that we want to hammer out, those things definitely take priority.Now, on to clarifying the Actually Love quest.***Spoilers and pro-tips below this point. Do not read on if you want the joy of figuring out quest progression by your own ingenuity***Victoria's note has nothing to do with triggering or advancing the quest, however its contents are useful once the quest is active—but strictly speaking it's just pure auxiliary world-building. The "Tools of the Trade" quest also has nothing to do with starting this quest. The quest only triggers once you have progressed to a certain point in your conversations with Victoria, at which point it will start when you have a conversation with the blacksmith. Ordinarily I wouldn't give this kind of detail on how to start a quest but I want to be sure people aren't driving themselves crazy trying to pursue false leads. That's not a dig at you, Defender—I can understand why you made these assumptions. The quest's starting point is deliberately organic, so I wouldn't expect it to be intuitively obvious how it begins.

You should now be on an overgrown path, heading north.if you take the right turn at the end, and follow the path northward, than you will eventually come to a lake, as long as you stay on the path and avoid the exits (their all bandit cashes and scenic landscape anyway).The outpost is directly to the left from where you enter the lake.Spoilers!End

I guess it depends on the coding language etc but taking input shouldn't be that much of a problem. playing in the dark were able to manage it for example for top speed 2 and above and plenty of other audio games have managed it.in top speed 3 you can easily set controls for sticks, d pad buttons, main thumb buttons what ever you'd call them, x, circle, triangle, and o or A B X Y or what ever, plus  shoulder / trigger keys.not complaining, just saying it would be a cool feature.but we can all say what would be good features but it comes down to what's possible. I'm just aiming at what is possible hopefully and hoping we don't end up with another flood of I want this, I want that requests.but I do still want force feedback. grins.

The game engine was written by Ian Reed in C#, with a lot of the scripting logic exposed to _javascript_ (which we later moved to Typescript). If you're impressed with the technical capabilities of the game, such as positional SAPI TTS in combat, don't look at me—that's all Ian Reed's brilliance on display. If you're annoyed with all the script errors...yeah sadly that's probably more my fault.

The reason why I am asking that is because I am looking into developing a racing game and the things that A Hero's Call has is absolutely Impressive. Like for instance, You managed to get SAPI Text to Speech to Speak in 3D Audio! I was totally Blown away by that!

@Enes: Go ahead and email if you don't mind.@Sir Badger: This is really more of an engine issue, so it's not my area of expertise, but as far as I know the issue is less the number of key combinations/unique commands and more just actually programming the logic to allow the game engine to take key input from any sort of control device and map that input to a command, without causing problems.

@Joseph, I can understand a key mapping system would be complicated for a game with so many key strokes but I think it could be tweeked to a fairly limited amount of things you could change.game controller mapping would be the main thing I think. being able to set what the sticks do, triggers or shoulder buttons etc. a lot of other stuff you still have to do on the keyboard anyway and so the options you could alter for game controlers maybe would be the limited ones you could change on the keyboard as well if that makes sence.although come to think of it, I have a 16 button flight stick here with a d pad on the top, rudder control and all that fun stuff. mapping something like that would really be a pain but be kind of cool to be able to turn by twisting kind of like using the mouse and things like that. ok I'm not expecting that kind of functionality, just sounded like fun. but does the game have force feedback? if it does it doesn't work on my controller. that'd be a nice touch too.

This is easier said than done, but is still something we'd like to do in a future update.Some more behind-the-scenes info about enemy scaling:Random encounters all have a pre-defined level bracket, so which encounters you will run into depends on your level. This is a little more complex than just saying different enemies appear at different levels. For example, you might run into a single Goblin Marauder along with a bunch of Goblin Archers starting at one level, but it will be a little longer before you run into a bunch of Goblin Marauders.All enemies have a pre-defined list of random armor and weapon options, and pre-defined skills and attributes. So these factors do not scale, per se, other than they scale with enemy type—but a level 45 Tree-kin will have the same skills, strength, constitution, etc. as a level 3- tree-kin. However, factors such as HP, mana, stamina, attack power, etc. that factor level as well as fixed statistics will adjust based on the unit's level, up to a pre-defined level cap which some units have.Some scripted encounters scale based on your level—so a boss mob might include more or less powerful units depending on your level. Some bosses' skills and gear also scale based on your level. However, there is always a cap to this (obviously—we can't make an infinite number of pre-defined units). So once you get past the final tier, then the higher your level, the more outdated a boss' gear and skills will be. This is part of why some people have found the final boss too easy at particularly high levels.Hopefully that clarified some things.

for anybody using a playstation 1 or 2 controller, I finally got round to working out how to do the snap rite and left. the trigger command doesn't work on these and for some reason l2 is what is classed as back and r2 is classed as start. so for example: fp_snap_left shift a | shift left | gamepad_backfp_snap_right shift d | shift right | gamepad_startthese could actually be l1 and r1, I can't remember how the shoulder buttons are labelled but I think I'm rite. the other 2 shoulder buttons seem to default to snapping to units to the left and rite anyway which is nice so I left it alone.I do think a nice addition to the game could be a built in key mapper and pad configuration option in the settings menu though.

Guys, please, please, please use the search feature. The House Divided quest has been covered pretty extensively, enough so that using the search feature should tell you what you're missing.For future reference though, if a quest says you've found two of three letters and you don't know where the third one is, mentioning which two you've found, where you got them, is hugely important if you expect someone to actually bother telling you where the third one might be.But again, as I say: use the search feature. It'll answer this question.slightspoilersforscalingI think scaling happens in little bursts. For instance, below level 8 you can find wolves, ravens, stuff like that, and at level 8 you start finding bandits and brown bears and stuff, and then every so often, old enemies get fazed out and new ones fazed in. I don't think a raven you fight at level 5 is different from a raven you would fight at level 3, but I might be wrong on this.This is where things like dragons come in. You shouldn't start seeing those till the mid-30s I believe.

Major SpoilersThe combination to open the Heart of Deepwood changes each time you begin a new adventure. To figure it out, you need to find and read the Mysteries of Deepwood somewhere in the ruins. The riddles should be easy to figure out if you have some common sense.In order to actually complete the Tools of the Trade Quest, you need to first complete the Goblin King and I quest. Weird.  I bought the game, and I just saw in the options that we should be able to use jaws.  However, in order to do so, I have to use insert F3 to pass key through every time I want to press a key.  This should not be the case if we can use screen readers.  Why is it doing this?

hi,Ok guys, here I present three recordings. Two of them demonstrate bugs, and were done with version 1.2. One of them is a fight with random enemies,  and I encounter a bug with alexia. I don't remember what the version I played on was, or how to reproduce it. Making her a pacifist is in my opinion not worth it. I managed just fine with her level of healing without it, and I got her to do enough damage to be useful; a friend took the pacifist route and regretted it as she was doing too little damage to be of much use in a fight.

Well, no, I don't think you need to. The difficulty should scale with level. I strongly believe you should be able to beat the final boss with that given strategy hints even with level 24.

Michael—the difference is percentage based. So especially at low levels you're not going to see much. For example, if you're dealing an average of 25 damage with melee attacks, and then add 20% fire damage, you're only going to be doing an average of 30 damage. But once you're looking at larger numbers, or you get it upgraded all the way up to a 50% bonus, you'll definitely see the difference.

Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.I just finished the "haunted by the past" quest and I liked it myself. I am not finished my first play through. I am taking my time. I chose to put the stone on the alter, and I chose earth. I really do not know how bad I messed up there. I have ran into some nasty things under far haven, so be where. I am also trying to decide which ones  I will take with me to finish the Pilgrims progress quest. I basically have to decide between the thief or the healer. I am using Liam’s stream to see how well I am doing after the fact. If I understand things, I may have messed up by making the thief give up the ring. Yes, I did not need him to find the location of what he was talking about, but let’s just say that no one is selling per say. Grant it, I had the thief in my party and he did get a telling off. LOL. It was something about being unreliable. Anyway, as for that love quest, try checking out the house near the north east guard tower. There should be a house that does not look like it belongs to anyone. You might want to check in the study of said house. There may be someone there that can point you to the right direction. Also, has anyone took glen over to see her father before finishing the game? If you haven’t I suggest you do so. That sort of proved entertaining. The guardian in the tree hits hard, but I got them down for the kill thankfully and I rushed out of there for other things too.Spoilers are now at an end.As everyone can see, (Did I just use the word see?) this game is really good. I have not known an audio game to be a gig in size before now and I do, sometimes find myself wondering how much of the audio within the game is compressed. I am assuming all of it to some degree. If that is the case, there is a lot of audio and it still sounds good.

What about the dual-wielding system are you disappointed with? Why would you want to choose which weapon to use, rather than having both weapons factored into your attack?@audioracer #1364 - Regarding Who Framed Rogarr Rabgurg: The gatehouse is in the northeastern part of the Goblin King's palace.@michaelhoffman #1369 - Regarding the forest temple: I won't give this one away, as there are some resources in the game that give you explicit details about where this is. Wait a sec, Nick. First you couldn't beat the final boss, now you're having trouble in Silvershade Mine? Are you trying to do more side-quests, or were you maybe never at the final boss yet and fishing for help ahead of time? If it's the latter, consider yourself duly informed that I will never help you again in any way regarding this game. If it's the former, however, the dungeon is inside the goblin king's palace, which you obviously had to have gone to. And yes, the info is available via search...although it might actually be a little bit tricky to find. Look up either Rogarr or Wilhelm, those may help narrow your search.If, though, you were nowhere near the final boss and are nowhere near finished the main quest line, I'll give you a piece of advice. Fishing for help under false pretenses is something I personally find extremely slimy, so I'm really going to hope you didn't do that.

Hi. Could someone please tell me what are the unique items? I sold my master forge hammer and saved my game hoping that was the one and it wasn't so i lost it. I don't want to lose anything else. Thanks
