Re: An audio horror game that's a bit different

hi,that doesn't sound like a playable game yet let alone available to download or released. just enough for a person to find out the opposite when hoping for a new game after looking at the subject, but oh well.

Re: An audio horror game that's a bit different

it is sad that they can't do it but I can understand why. I need to have someone describe the trailor to me but it sounds like it shows sound waves bouncing around objects as they are created by the cane and go from their. like the cane taps, and you see the waves coming out from it and see it parting around objects. Supposedly, the devs behind this did a lot of research and came to the conclution that it wouldn't work visually. maybe someone should link them to this thread so they can explain more and ask questions? I do really wish I could play this but maybe now that they know about blindness, they will design their next game with accessability in mind.

Re: An audio horror game that's a bit different

Hi.I don't see how this topic fits in the new releases, since it hasn't been released yet.I have read about the game, and sadly, it will not be accessible. It's really a shame that they are working on a game where the character is a blind woman, they have made some fantastic sound design and then us who are blind can't play the game...There is not enough sounds in the game to make it accessible, and from what I can hear in the gameplays, a lot of sounds will just disturb if a blind person try to play the game.I really like the idea behind the game, but it's just sad that we can't play it.

Re: An audio horror game that's a bit different

Moderation! I'll move this to new releases sinse I don't think w'eve heard too much about this game. Ecco location has been used previously, eg, the first person game Swamp has sonars, though how successful it's been has varried a little, usually it's more one tool in an a hole range of things, both in real life and the way it's been used in games, rather than the be all and end all.Oddly enough in Blindscape, which is I assume what you mean about the man with gouged out eyes sinse it was about someone in a distopean society who had been punished by having his eyes burned out,  the problem to me wasn't the setting so much as the execution, having to swipe a finger round the hole screen to constantly feel for objects like door knobs. Both rather annoying gameplay wise and also not a good representation of location by touch.
