Re: Extremely strange Linux issue

@Robjoy, I am unable to retrieve the output because its in a VM.@5, probably. It might be having issues with it, although how to fix it is a mystery to me. Windows sees the drive and is able to read the drive perfectly fine.

Re: Extremely strange Linux issue

Vmware may be having issues with USB 3 at the moment... When I try connecting a 2tb samsung M3 drive, which is also USB 3, I first get an error from fusion that it couldn't be connected to the correct controller, which may cause unusual behaviour, followed by XP complaining about an unrecognized device. Maybe this issue isn't just limited to that one windows VM...

Re: Extremely strange Linux issue

Hi,This could be due to many things, including an usb 2.0 kernel module being loaded for the 3.0 drive. Please plug in the drive and try posting the output (as root):uname -admesglsusb -vvfdisk -lRob

Re: Extremely strange Linux issue

Hi,It sees it alright, but it can't mount it into the dev FS for mounting and/or partitioning due to that error.

Re: Extremely strange Linux issue

try typinglsusbin a terminal to see if it sees the device at all. Did you install and load the guest additions? I use virtualbox, so the needed components will be called something different. As a plan b, try to mount your hdd on your host and set it up as a shared folder. Hope this helps.
