Re: Game Idea: online brawler

I originally mentioned something like this as a 2d game due to the fact skipping up to threeD with fighting/weapon combat would be a large leap. And anyway, 2d or 3d, all it takes is some creativity to make a 2D system with multiple players on the field just as fun and complex. There are certain field hazards and arena designs one can enjoy in a side-scrolling 2D map, and we have people iterested in map-making with stuff like the Scrolling battle world building stuff coming up with odd level designs.   All we need are people experienced with simulating a fighting-type game to try something like this. An alternative would be an audio-type fighter, but considering how popular and playable/accessible mainstream games are for that, I'm not sure that would get as much traction here. Competitive/cooperative melee/brawler games would be dipping into a realm the VI community would not have as much experience with.

Re: Game Idea: online brawler

As a fan of wrestling, MMA, and as a visually impaired person who has won fights against sighted people in my younger days, I'd like a game like this one. I'll be the first to admit that I have no idea how to design an audio game.. Thats why I'm always asking for suggestions, advice, and thats also why my posts are no doubt ignored.. I'm for the most part still a member of the sighted community, and I ask my fellow visually impaired technology users for help to no avail. Help with Code7, good iPad game suggestions, and I'm shunned.. However, as I've actually been in multiple fights, I think I could be of some use to this project. At least as far as making it feel realistic goes anyway. I'd like to see an on line no rules fighting game where all styles are implemented.

Re: Game Idea: online brawler

I do, but same as you , I don't have enough knowledge or brainpower to code, I'll be happy to give idea though.maybe we need a sitdown bitween "know what they do coders", and idea brainstormers, no, not the kind of brainstormer that just yo, add this, add that, make it like this make it like that (most of us love to do that, lol) but brainstormer that could plan idea carefully so it would fit into the code.Again, my english isn't that good so...

Noone else have any ideas or thoughts on this genre of game that's reasonably well populated in the mainstream but has basically no presence in audiogaming? haha.

Re: Game Idea: online brawler

The problem is that most developers who are blind don't usually have enough knowledge or imagination to tink up good fighting systems, and those of us who either do martial arts or know enough to come up with interesting mechanics do not code. Doesn't apply t everyone though, of course, but you can see that based on how little shooters or other combat game attempts have in terms of actual complexity when it comes to fighting. I've got three or four concepts for brawler type games, I just don't have enough knowledge or knowhow to turn them into actual pieces of work, since my brain isn't wired for anything like coding or math.

Re: Game Idea: online brawler

Considering that the game was supposed to be a multi-person brawler, it probably could fit the format if an online mode was ever planned or even desired.

if only the development of everdark clash continues, maybe K could put an online support and make the game smoother to play
