For instance, someone hwo doesn't have the console as of right now who may decide to get one later decides to buy killer instinct... and they see videos of people using Shadow Jago online and decide they want to buy the character, only to find out that the offer was only for a limitted time. For most thins, it's not a big deal... but for a fighting game, where so much of how good a game is depends on the character, I don't think that's a wise business move. And if memory serves and you still have to buy xbox points to get things from the store, the whole process just isn't worth it for someone who doesn't have the console or the game and doesn't know for sure they want either. lol but I'm not flaming by any means. It's still on my to get list, if not soon then in March when it comes out on pc. Re: Going to purchase Killer Instinct but will need assistance Hello,I'd recommend also turning up the hud volume, as you will then hear your meter sounds, like shadow and the knockdown value which is used for knowing when to end your combos. Shadow meter sounds like a sort of troopanum enforcer destroyed sound, and knockdown value sounds like a thud that goes up in pitch and volume as you increase your combo, make sure to end the combo before it reaches maximum and stops you, otherwise you won't do much damage. To get to hud volume. do the following:When in the main menu, press a on single player.Then, press up once, then press a to enter help and options.then, go down four times, this will take you to audio.Go down three times, then use left and right. If you try going left and you hear a buzz sound, this means you are on hud, which is on zero. Press right 10 times to put it on 50, the slider setting that everything else is on, it's quite a nice balance.To get to music from the hud volume, press down once. So, in audio options, down three is hud, and down four is music.If you get confused about what you have turned down, you can press the y button to set all options to default settings and then try to find hud, which has a default option of zero, but if you had it turned up, remember to change it otherwise you will end up with no hud sounds at all. The same for your music.When you are done, just keep pressing b to go back until you can't go back any more then you will be back in the main menu, on the single player option. The second, (one down from that), is Local play. The option after that is Shadow Lab.Within Single player, you have the fight option, then the master option, then store/collection, then fight archive (where you can view replays of your fights), then help and options (where you can change audio settings).Within the single player fight menu, you have options that will, most of the time, take you straight to character select. Player VS CPU is what you land on, then you have Story Mode (which takes you into a separate menu t hat's quite tricky if memory serves), then Survival, and finally CPU VS CPU. Withthe three options that aren't story mode, you can select character (or characters), and the stages.If you really want to be able to see things like character footsteps, jumps etc clearly, you can turn your music down all the way by going into the help options menu (from the main menu on default option, press A, up one and then A again). Now go down four to get to audio options and press A on that. To turn down the music, move down 4 and hold left until the music stops and you hear a low tone repeatedly. You can simply press b to go right out of the menus and back to the main menu.With selecting characters, you have to press a 3 times - once for the actual character, again for the costume and again for the colour (could have those last two incorrectly remembered). Aaron took time to explain how the basic mechanics work - there's much more to it than that though - Combo Breakers and breaking at different strengths, Shadow Counters, counterbreakers, shadow moves, throws, playing online, etc. You'll have a good time with this game if you're willing to master it. I would be happy to fight you in online sets once you have everything set up and give you what advice I can. Re: Going to purchase Killer Instinct but will need assistance Hello,I think he wants tips on how the game plays. Well, it's a bit different to mortal kombat. Killer Instinct is a six button fighter, x, y, and right bumper are your punches, a, b, and right trigger are your kicks, with left bumper and left trigger using all threee for ultimate attacks. The game has a different sort of combo system. You start off with a special move which opens your combo, then if you press a single button quickly, just once, it will do an auto double which is two hits. You then link into another special move, and then do another auto double, and this continues until you want to end it, which you do by using the ehavy version of a special move. It's kind of hard to explain and I don't really have a recording that shows properly how this game sounds in a step by step way.
