I've done that before, all be it a bit of latency and telephone-ish audio can ruin matters a bit, but this being nowhere near a fast-paced action game, that would be fine if you wanted to teamviewer it. As for Wine, I don't see why it wouldn't work, as long as it's not using any high-level direct x 11 and up utilization, but get ready to need sighted help during the installer. If indeed the shade is evil and is trying to thwart the eternal lovers then such a shade must be vanquished at all cost and if it is the lover in morning then if they're in a cycle, fighting may indeed be the only way to break the cycle keeping both lovers apart. As for the temple itself, imagine if it was a multi-faith temple? What if imbibing the bread and wine or some other sacred food/drink increases not only your faith but holy spells will be permanently 1 damage unless you do something evil? Maybe we only weakened it to a point and then it regained its senses or whatever. I've had the same thought as you since I would certainly choose to help a restless spirit rather than thwart it if the choice were mine. Or maybe the spirit we fought wasn't actually the one connected with the amulet but a malevolent spirit that didn't want to see the suffering one move on. I didn't even support the kickstarter as I'm suspicious of them due to the history. So sure as hell I can wait a little longer!It's just that I worry to be spoiled about it. You know ... the feeling when a brand new car has just come out of production and you want to be the first customer to test drive it. You feel so supreme and royal. I haven't actually done this because I'm blind lol but I can put myself in the situation. For me it's the same here. I want to be the first or one of the first to lay my hands on this product and claim it as my bride for the weekend. I do not want to listen to any streams or read any commentary from someone who's claimbed my precious price before I have. I guess I'm that self-obsessed that I want to be able to tell people yepp, I ordered it within the first 30 seconds of release. Not that it really matters at this point, because I'll be one with a hundred. That's only a small part of it though. I guess I like figuring things out (so I'm definitely not going to read any manuals). Watching people play takes that satisfaction away. The same goes when I unbox something on christmas. Re: Release Date Announcement for A Hero's Call I think it's all going to come down to how much bandwidth they have.If the site is on some form of shared hosting then there's always a risk that the host could suspend the account when the major spike in bandwidth consumption hits.Otherwise it's going to depend on port speed. I suspect downloads will be slow for the first while until the initial rush is over but here's hoping nothing worse happens.I run the server that VGStorm is using. We're on a dedicated gigabit ethernet port now, but at the time of Manamon's release we only had 100 megabits.Short of a little slowdown there have never been any major problems during a release.@Joseph: while I certainly understand why you might not want to take me up on this, if you anticipate any problems with bandwidth availability I'd be happy to offer a temporary mirror. As far as the replayability thing goes, I feel like I'm the weird one out in that I play most story driven rpgs (in the style of final fantasy or Suikoden) less for the mechanics, and more for the story. If there aren't very divergent paths of play at some point in the story, then replaying it would be like rereading a good book right after having recently read it. There's nothing inherently wrong with this; in fact, it's awesome when a game leaves me feeling like I just read through a novel from start to finish. I'm just saying I think I'd prefer a long or robust story-tree I can play through once or twice, thoroughly enjoy, and happily put down in a week or two, with no qualms about waiting for the next good release, rather than something infinitely replayable but with little depth or forethought put into its design. Of course this is entirely based about my preconceived notions of what AHC will be, and not what it actually is, so there's that, too. Poor Joseph sounds like a guy fresh out of finals -- things are wrapping up, but final grades aren't out yet. Good luck, buddy, and I'm sure everything will turn out great. From what I heard of the combat it sounds more complex and balanced in terms of class choices than Entombed. I read the last contributions to the thread, and it's true there are games (both mainstream and audio) who feel short when you finish them, and aren't compelling enough to start another playthrough. At least it seems some efforts are put in that regard, with the different classes you can play as, for example. The aspect for which I'm the most excited about in those cases is that it's real inclusive gaming instead of just audiogaming. Plus it does feel promising and the $20 price feels right, as some audiogames were more expansive and offered not nearly as much content.Now of course how successful the game will be remains to be seen. To be honest my first playthrough when I checked the time took me like two days and few hours but of course it's the lenght I spend in game but in real time it was something about one week.Manamon is good but not great just because it's not balanced, most of the manamons are just a waste of time because they are similar to each other to there's not a lot to do with them especially if you find your dream team. Re: Release Date Announcement for A Hero's Call it just depends really on what you do and how you do it got manamon beat in about 3 days. things like mortal combat x for instance was beat in a few hours but there is plenty to do than just story mode so even if someone can beat a game within a few days, doesn't actually say much about how good or not good the game is. there will be people that complain, but for every person who complains or doesn't like something, there will be at least 5-10 who are just fine with enjoying a great game whether music, sound design, storymode, or the hole thing in general so thank you for your hard work and I for one will enjoy it regardless.
