Regarding the price: When the online part is going to be payed, I would suggest something like 20 dollars instead. Why? Now, I don't remember the original price, was it 5 dollars or maybe 10 dollars? But, it feels like you are buying close to nothing, like a peace of candy and not a quallity product. It feels like you are buying a cheep product and don't expect much. If the price was 20 dollars, then you would really expect something from the product, you would expect updates in the future and people might be motivated to give a lot of suggestions, because they really wanna get something for their money. You as a team would get a lot more money if 50 gamers buy a licens for 20 dollars than for 5. The most important thing: If people pay that much, they won't mess it up, make it bad for other people and be banned. You won't deal with hacke rs who pay 5 dollars because that feels like nothing for some people and start to hack the server with multiple accounts. People won't buy a licens for 20 dollars and hack the server, unless they have too much money. Lol. You see my point?If this is going to be the main product you're focusing on, I think that's the way to go. Yes, people wanna be mad, some people will think that's going to be too expensive and a lot of people can't pay, because they don't have the money, because they don't have a credit card, because they don't trust an online payment system or for whatever other reason, but is this your problem? You have made the choice that the online part is going to be payed, so there will be people who can't pay no madder what price you set.Just my opinions. It's remarkable how fast this seems to have been developed, unless I got the wrong idea. I know the amount of complaints many players had about Ultrapower and the demo of SBP sounds like a major improvement over Ultrapower. IN fact, this is what I would've wanted to happen to Ultrapower in the first place, but you are developing SBP now instead, which doesn't really matter. It's not the title, but the game play that counts, so I almost think of SBP 1.0 as a new version of Ultrapower that has been totally redesigned and given a whole new title. The weapon system was not very realistic and cheap shots could be taken by people who picked up long-range weapons like the gas canister and the RPG launcher to kill players who barely have enough ammo to fire a shotgun. Re: SBP now accepting preorders for online mode Thanks for clearing those up Mason...I see your point as well SLJ, but I don't think the price should go over 10 dollars, so that it becomes prohibitive for a large majority of potential players in countries with bad exchange rates.Hackers might pay 5 dollars, but as seen in Swamp, most of them weren't willing to pay more than 8 when that idea was tossed around before the current scheme was put into place.And to be honest, the very fact that the game isn't free cuts out a large portion of them already, so raising the price just for that may be harmful in the long run, or at least irrelevant.As to worries about customers being taken seriously, if this is Mason's main project, then they will be anyway, and NS is hopefully there to pick up any slack. Considering that many aps for the IPhone and Android devices have excellent customer support and generally only cost from 1 to 5 dollars, I don't think price woul d determine this, and if so, I wouldn't want the game anyway.Mason and NS getting more reward for their work is a valid concern, but we do have the donation button. How ever, I can generally agree with that one, though that seems to have already been worked out. How is the server going to be protected from downtime and security breech issues pertaining to player's personal data at the time of launch?5. Who ca n we count on being able to consistently contact, as customers, to give suggestions, bug reports, and ask for assistance with ordering the game, within a reasonable degree of course...
