I noticed that there is a patch for QuentinCs Playroom, whats that? QuentinCs Playroom is not abandonware, it is going strong. Also, theres a setup program for AllInPlay. AllInPlay is not abandonware either. I have, as of moments ago, upgraded to the latest version of Adventures At C: at VGStorm.com. I love that game, and although its not abandonware, Im glad I found out about this wonderful game through the abandonware games archive. This is just me, but when I add a folder to BTSync, I make a new folder.Its what I did for my Harry Potter Fanfiction collection, and its what I did with my Childrens audiobook collection.Its just common sense to start with an empty folder.And letting anyone modify the folder is bound to cause problems, and last but not least, if something does get deleted, assuming you didnt change the default preferences when adding the folder, files will end up in a hidden subfolder in the folder you specify the files to end up called sync archive.Files there, assuming you didnt change anything get stored for 30 days. Maybe we need some definition here, such as:A game is abandonware if it is a commercial game which is no longer sold, and there exists no legal means of obtaining a copy. A game is also abandonware if any official distribution channels for the game are no longer available, active, or valid. E.G. developer website is gone, etc. Games which can be freely downloaded from public places should not be added to this archive, and cracks, key generators, registration keys, serial numbers, and any other method for illegally installing, registering, or running a game still legally available for purchase have no place in this folder.In the case of the RSGames client, its readily available at rsgames.org, so it fails the abandonware check. This is a special case, since it depends on a server. If the RSGames service is ever discontinue d, the RSGames client will be rendered totally useless, so it still wouldnt belong here. Files like this include the mota stuff, night of parasite, etc. For now, they have to be deleted because they arent recognizable. I did not put any films, minecraft installations, anything like that, that was all a hacker probably. Although someone did put Rays abandonware archive in there, thanks much for that. Ill organize it accordingly so we dont have duplicate folders called abandonware games. As for who put all that unnecessary crap in the folder I dont know, but Ive hopefully deleted all that. I just looked at it and deleted all that stuff hopefully its gone for everyone else. And just to clear up confusion for anyone who saw Sammy Center, that game isnt abandonware so if you see that in the folder, just know that its still around. Well, my plan was to let anyone who had any abandonware just drop that in the folder without having to contact me want to make it easier on the users because in the other abandonware topic Shane was talking about a sharing thing with skype. I just thought I should get it out now since I have more than enough opertunities to get new stuff in it after Ive set it up. But I will be adding stuff shortly, so there will be a lot more than now. The advantage to using this over publishing a zip as Seby suggested doing, is that you dont need to keep publishing and republishing it. When the old abandonware games archive that Ray and Harrison had up in a similar thread, youd have to keep downloading the zip. This should eliminate that. Id use S3 so theres plenty of bandwidth that costs almost nothing, and I could look into an indexer to make browsing easier in addition to a large archive; furthermore, and ironically, BitTorrent would also be supported. The point however is to make it a bit more Official than BTSync, which as we know is only good for when we have volunteers.
