Re: making a table in word?

Hi. If you are looking for shortcut for making the word in the table, alt a, i, t works well for me. This shortcut will take you to the tables menu IE, number of columns, rows, formatting and etc.EDIT:Sorry for keeping this very short, my NVDA doesn't speaks anything when I press alt+a, i, and when I press t, the table menu appears.

Re: making a table in word?

so, in the ribbon I can find the option to insert table, I do not mind finding it myself or need a shortcut. I just wanted to know how it behaves once you click on it. so, just find insert table and you can arrow around to increase the length and width. Just making sure that is what you meant. Thanks for answering so quickly.

Re: making a table in word?

You can set one up yourself since there isn't a default.Go to File>Options>Customize Ribbon and click on Customize... under Keyboard shortcuts. Find the "TableInsertTable" option, and type your keys in the box. Click apply once you're using the desired keys and you've made sure they're not already assigned to something else. Click close and return to your document. This dialogue will allow you to specify a number of rows and columns to create with a in the textboxes. Click OK to insert the table at the cursor. Then you can use your standard features for editing tables, such as the Insert and Delete menus in the context menu.Alternatively, you can add the tables option to your QAT from the ribbon. You can quickly access these QAT commands with alt+ number keys, the position in the list corresponding with the number you press to activate it. For example, if the table option was in fourth position, I would press alt+4 to access that option from the QAT.From there, you can select your columns and rows with your arrows (up and down selecting your rows, and left and right selecting your columns). Press enter to insert the table at your cursor, or click on Insert to get to the same dialogue mentioned earlier.Hope that helped. Feel free to message back if you'd like some clarification.@Nuno, Wow that's awesome! Didn't know about that. There's also a way to import CSV files as a formatted table in Word, but I have no idea how it actually formats it. I've tried just creating CSV files in Notepad or something, but they haven't worked. Probably just missing something, cause I'm able to copy data from Excel and have it appear as a table in Word.
