An amd processor would actually run cooler because of the smaller process technology which means less cooling. Not as cool as with a loquid cooled system but decent. If I put a mechanical drive in there, it'll lower the speed at which programs start just based off the read speeds of the slower drive. I have the 3600X, and it takes maybe a little over half a second if I close chrome completely. Fred I would think you would get a good black friday deal on that processor, as it goes on sale on november 5, a good while before black friday. It really is worth waiting for, as you will buy a processor that will be obsolete in a week.
