I know a sighted person can tell a Pokémon's gender by the Venus or Mars sign located near their name, but does anyone know if there is a way for us to quickly tell what gender a Pokémon is without sighted assistance? I mean other than taking it to the day care and seeing if it will breed with another Pokémon.

Oh. No idea how I missed that when reading the readme.  Oops.  Well, guess their is no way then to read stats?  I've been watching a let's player play pokemon sun, and that stuff seems rather important at least for that game, but not sure how important it was back when Crystal was released.  This is why I'd love to see the newer games made accessible if possible.

Some thing that needs to be worked on if possible is when in the inventory screen, you have no way of knowing how many of an item you have.  It'll read the description, and the name, but not the number.  I think this happens in other areas as well.  Also the status screen of pokemon doesn't read either.  Not sure if that can even be adjusted.

But how can i transfer a savefile from one of my laptops to another computer without taking the risk the file gets corrupted?In previous versions it wasn't possible to transfer the savefile on a usb-drive without editting some things within a file ...Could someone please explain it to me how it works right now? or if it works the same, please explain it to me, cause it is ages ago i have done it and can't remember.thanks in advance.greetz mike

I'm late to answer, but I've found the lag or delay does not happen for me (using Jaws( if I perform actions continually one after the other, i.e.  pressing a key directly after another. if you don't want to button mash, press and hold shift an instant before performing an action to cause the lag to be nearly eliminated for the secondt key stroke, because holding down shift counts as a key stroke being continually pressed, and since shift most times doesn't perform an action, it won't cause an  action other than the second key you press. For example, when you are in your inventory and you want to move down through your items, you can press and hold shift an instant before you press the down arrow to eliminate the lag from pressing the down arrow for the first time. Keep in mind however that once you stop pressing the arrow key for longer than half a second or so, the next time you press the arrow key the lag may return for the next key stroke, as
  holding shift isn't perfect. If done correctly, this method makes game play much easier. I don't know if this works for other screen readers, but it can't hurt to try.

the problem with doing that though, at least in my case would be the actual text wouldn't be read, so I'd essentially be just moving through and catching whatever I could, clicking through text boxes with no idea what was being said and pick god knows what upI like to know these things,

Has anyone figured out how to trade or battle online?  From all that I'm seeing, you can do it with vbalink and hamachi.  I guess that'd work well enough, provided you can load your save states into vbalink from the other emulator, and know the options to pick, as Tyler's scripts only work with this one emulator since it's the only one that supports Lua scripting.  Has anyone tried?

I haven't found a move description actually in game yet, but what I can tell you is it is possible to play through the game with just these access scripts, they really are pretty goodonly problem I remotely had a problem with was getting the bird back to the trainer, and only then for a few minutes until I figured out how it worksalso, skarmory forever

That's the reason I only use mods to play it as well, as you can obtain Pokémon not possible in the original version .  I have the kaiso hack  which I believe makes things a lot harder, as well as adding some additional moves to at the very least the starters.  I also have another one, but I'm not sure what that is .  Two questions if I may .  First, is it possible to complete the entire game and post game using the access scripts in these hacks  and second, is there a way to view move info ?  I don't believe it is possible during battle  ?

well the reason I'm not using gameshark, as far as I can anyways is because I wanted to progress naturally... aside from my shiny pichu from the odd egg... that I just used quicksave plus a happiness mod so the egg would hatch fast until it came out, lucky didn't take too long and even got shiny elekid out of italso wanted to know about linking so I could actually evolve kadabra/onix properly, but I guess gameshark will have to do if I want to get the evolved formsand celebi too since it's already in the game and they were just too lazy to actually put in a way for you to get the GS ball in the english version... yes I looked that up and you could in the original japanese oneI just passed cianwood though, so got a while to go... and encountered entei twice... stupid dog taunting me by showing up and running away

@ddyou can use gameshark codes to capture any pokemon you want and obtain any item you want. You can also use them to walk through walls if you're the kind who hates dealing with the puzzles and all that. Or, you can play using a mod. Mod, hack, whatever it's called lol I use one and it makes the game a lot more fun. Pokemon that aren't usually able to be caught in the game now are found in the wild, and pokemon you'd have to trade to evolve now evolve by levelup. Also, the one I use bumps the games difficulty up a lot, so it's a blast to play through. Team rocket will become your worst nightmare haha.

oh, the turbo mode? you actually can use that in battles too to speed up the animationsbut I think what he was talking about was the actual screen reader, every time new text appears on screen it takes a second for it to be read but I don't think there's much you can actually do about it
