What the listen option does is it routes the microphone's audio to the default sound input device, in this case your speakers. Stereomix, in turn, records the output. You do have to wear headphones to avoid feedback in the recording. I find that much too distracting, not to mention that I'm a perfectionist of the highest order, and hate the sound of my recorded voice. So there's no way I could handle that personally, particularly when recording a podcast. Some people don't mind the echo, but it's really down to personal preference, and whether that's something you think you can get used to. In fact, I use VAC for a similar purpose, to stream music over Skype or Team Talk to my friends. it works great for that, but, even with latency set to 200, I still experience some lag, which makes something like recording a game demo, especially for a game where timing is of the essence, impossible. In these cases, Virtual Recorder has saved me.I guess the reason a Google search can't get you Virtual Recorder is that it's a specialized program. it was made by a blind developer, and made with accessibility in mind. So I would imagine that it's not going to be a top priority search result. Hello,If you ahve stereo mix, do the following:1-set your default device as stereo mix.If you can't see stereo mix under sound/recording tab, right click the device list, choose show disabled devices. If you see stereo mix, right click on it, choose enable. Then right click on stereo mix once again and choose set as default device. Then select your microphone device, right click on it, click properties. Go to the listening page and check "listen to this device", and begin recording. The only disadvantage with this is you will hear your voice when you're talking. Iff you don't see stereo mix after clicking show disabled devices, your sound card does not support stereo mix. There's also bsr which can do that but only under newer versions of windows (vista and up), though I believe the lack of simaltanius recording of multiple sources spplies to everything, not just bsr. And before anyone mentions sterio mix, that option doesn't do jack shit in vmware, so if you are doing a playthrough of self destruct, (for which the keygen doesn't work in win8), then you're pretty much screwed.
