With text the spire there should be multiple windows such as output, choices, events etc. One of those windows then is prompt and there is a text input field where you can write commands.

hi. sorry for reviving topic but, i successfully installed mods, read the spire. also my nvda ocr can detect somethings... but i still don't know how to make my screen reader read the screen changes. please help me.

If you want to use Text the Spire I recommend using the companion program written for it, named Read the Spire. These mod names are going to get confusing fast rofl. Your mod directory should be C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\sayTheSpire\mods\You need to either subscribe to the required mods from the steam workshop or copy the needed mod files to the mods directory. Once done run Read the Spire found here https://github.com/pitermach/ReadTheSpire.Make sure you also grab the achievement enabler mod or a certain character won't unlock properly later (the fourth character's unlock is based on getting the win a run achievement for the first 3, so you need Achievement Enabler to do that before you beat the game as all 3 of the characters)

The window with the combo boxes and play button is mod the spire or at least I assume that is what you opened. There should be a toggle all mods button or something like it I cannot check just now which should enable all your mods. So after pressing it once you can then press the play button and the game should start with your downloaded mods enabled. Note that pressing the toggle all mods button again disables all your mods.It is bit unclear to me which mods you want to use. You talk about say the spire occasionally but do you mean slay the spire. At least you did not list say the spire in your mods directory contents.

I'd like to find out how to do this to.After mucking about, I finally got a direct ea copy from ea origin.The origin client is a joke, and so is the ea client but I managed to get the game installed.In the mods folder of say the spire install I have.basemodcommunication modinspire modtext the fire mod win64in the main folderI have mod the spire.the mts cmd batch and mts launcher.Read the spire and some other things need steam to work and my version is not steam.A lot I pulled from the various github pages and I followed their instructions and all modules look to be in the right place, unless the mods folder shouldn't be in the game program files folder.I do not use or plan to use steam but if I need it installed who knows.I did get the say the spire mod program  to open but all I see is a bunch of comboboxes which do not read and a play button.I think I have everything loaded in the right place.

I'm only familiar with the steam version, so can only give instructions for that.First find the mods you need on the steam workshop. If they say subscribe, then you need to click that, otherwise, you already have them. If you need other mods to make one work, they will be listed as a requirement. Launch the steam client on your computer, and make sure slay the spire is downloaded. Find slay the spire in your library, and use your screenreader's right mouse click to open a menu. at the top you should see play. hit enter on that. It will open up a screen that's asking you if you want to play with mods. What I do here is use OCR, go down to where is says play with mods, left mouse click, escape the OCR result, and click enter. You should then see the mod the spire window. Go through with object nav to make sure the mods you need are checked, then hit play.

Make sure you launched the game with the mods enabled. And that you have all required mods for the game to work properly.
