Re: Should I finish this?

Hey,Whether people read it or not, you should still finish it. Writing is an art form and you should cultivate it without asking for the opinions of others to motivate you. This is great effort on your part, but I think there's too little here to really tell if the story is engaging. Perhaps these names are taken from other Sci-Fi novels but they're confusing enough to distract from the main story, so I found myself just trying to keep the names straight in my head instead of paying attention to the surrounding setup. The names feel like you were trying too hard to come up with convoluted complex names. So, focus on the story and less on the awesomeness of whatever Sci-Fi thing is relevant. This is probably why you haven't received any responses on the story yet.

Re: Should I finish this?

If you haven't figured it out, Lios are Livlandians. Just like how the Britts are called Anglos. Dezis are the Deserettians and Salcks are the Salickarians.

Should I finish this?

Should I finish this?

Hello guys. I've recently started work on some medium sized stories about a war torn society, set in a fictional universe, where the world is divided into 2 factions: The north, our actual earth, and the south. Where most of the story will be set. However I'm not sure if anybody will ever enjoy the stories. I've ritten a short extract to see if you guys will like it, or if you enjoy my writing style. Its The First  Lio-Johnsonian War. Because yes. There are 5 of them. Here's the extract.Tell me if you'd read the full series, or if I should actually write out this first one.A war on 2 fronts. All hope is lost. The Salcks, the Bermainians, all their allies all fell to the might of the Livlandians and their allies. Yet still, of the 2.489 million Johnsonian troops fighting on the Western Front, and the 423872 on the Southern front, something unusual was present. Fuel, ammunition, food and other resources were extremely scarce. However there was one thing that was incredibly abundant. Though failure was immenent, defeat a mear 4 inches away, the Johnsonian troops still fought on valliantly. A Livlandian general would later say in an interview,"It was baffling. Even though their bullets were intensely rassioned, they still gave our men a run for their  money. They still brought a challenge, and they still managed to kill hundreds of thousands of our men. Hat's off to them."Exhausted  from the constant barrage of Livlandian bombs and cannon shells; Hungry from weeks of very small food portions, they still pushed on agressivly. The Johnsonians meant business. The great Continental War had just ended. 8 years of tiresome fighting and the Central Nations emerged triumphant. After the so called, "Comainian Swarming", the Eastern and Western forces had fallen to the might, and unity of the Central Nations captained by Livlandia, Persadia and Chasonia. However, a looming threat was on the horizon. Before the war had officially ended, the Comainians sent supplies and money to the terrorist nation just north of Livlandia. Encouraging them to wage war on the nation hoping that the Livlandians would be too distracted with dealing with the terrorists, effectively giving the Comainians a break from the constant hammering from Lio bombers, destroyers and tanks. Unfortunately they were dead wrong. The Livlandians had more than enough man power to take on both the Comainians and the Deserettians  to the north. What they didn't have were the men to push for a full invasion of the desert plain. The Deserettian attack on Livlandia, and the subsequent terror attacks were viewed as a betrayal to the Livlandian people. As the Livlandians had aided them in the fight against the Rostonian Imperialists, who were also enemies of Livlandia. However when King Narine had stepped down, and his son Prakash took control of the nation, things took a turn for the worst. King Prakash had gained the nickname, the Terror King as he was well known to be associated with various terror groups, even signing in to law a bill that effectively legalised terrorism in the country. The Livlandians were already exhausted fighting such a long and draining war, plus the large size of the nation made it difficult for the Imperial Army to fully capture the entire territory. Livlandia needed a partner. And fast. Luckily, another Central Nation was also fighting the Deserettians. The Salickarian Empire had become both an ally and rival to the Livlandian Federal Empire. With the former attempting to mimick the might and vastness of the Federal Empire. King Lennox of Livlandia proposed to the Salcks that they fought the terrorists together. With the land claim being all lands west of the Maharaj River going to Salickaria, and the lands east of the river would go to Livlandia. The treaty of Crokhad City was signed and the Lios and Salcks were officially fighting the wwwar together.Eventually, both Livlandia and Salickaria had the Deserettians on the ropes. King Prakash had a difficult decision to make. He knew at that point he had to surrender to one of them, knowing occupation would only be as bad as the occupiers. He knew the Salcks would basically enslave his people, as the Salcks and the Terrorists having differing ideals, and societal structures. The Salcks believed they were superior, and that the Dezzis were less human than they were. Prakash knew while the Livlandians would be harsh, punishing all the people responsible for the terror attacks would be persicuted, they wouldn't treat his people poorly. So, on May 22ND. 2047, Deserettia surrendered unconditionally to the Livlandians. In accordance with international surrenderance laws, Livlandia had to occupy Deserettia for at least 13 months. So Livlandia commenced the occupation.I'm not sure what category of writing this falls into. Its sorta like a fictional expository, and kinda like a narrative, and kinda biography. Tell me what you guys think. Spoiler
