Re: Spectrum Access, a Free App to Provide Audio Description and CC There have been apps like this in the past, and they all failed.Disney anywhere was only available for the US at the time, BAM describe was only available in australia, not sure if they're still listed in the app store, and there is another one based in Germany called gretta by a company called gretta and starks.I tried all of those except for disney anywhere and none of those took off here in australia, not even the aussie one.Solo DX had a good concept where you payed for the AD track and synced it with a copy of the movie or show you were watching, but that one also didn't take off.The technology is obviously there, so why are all these services failing?Everyone wants to do things their way.I wouldn't be at all surprised if Apple comes along and tries to do something like this, but then again, we are a small market, so I can understand why none of these services were successful. Unless they're creating their own audio description tracks with permission from the studios. Otherwise everything they are offering is probably available somewhere else already. They are limited, I suspect, by what titles they can get from the studios. Pretty cool that you don't have to be a Spectrum subscriber to use it though!
