It's so google can cram more stuff on the page. It's all part of this design unification process they have going on, where everythings being made to look like the ps4 youtube app from 2014. Of course this is incredibly retarded, everyone hates it and naturally google just don't give a single fuck. You can still restore the youtube interface of old, click the profile button that drops down the menu with options to upload and access your settings, go all the way down to the bottom of that menu and click restore youtube. Be sure to give google hell in the feedback box that pops up, click submit and then reload the page. It gives you the first few videos, but then you can't go forward or back through it.
