Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] What is the absolute minimum processing power required to run Inguz on a PC?

I do not know anything about Inguz... sorry.
But there is almost no difference on E-350 and E450 when talking about
CPU power

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Pop/click in transporter playback with recent firmware

2011-09-24 Thread slate

Just to put some more details onto this

- Does it happen in the shift of two tracks or while the music plays?
- If in a track can you rewind and hear it again?

Typically when one experience pif/crackle/puf is in the space between
two tracks. Especially when the tracks are of different resolution.
From your information it isn't any of the above...

- Are you using an external DAC?

Their drivers are used in many commercial speakers around the world.

If you are into diy I can recommend that you take a look at Troels
Gravesen site; here are a overview of his ScanSpeak based constructions

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Cat5 or not ?

2011-05-08 Thread slate

Hmm must admit that the only thing I know about the cables in my wall is
that they are green... time to check on the loft.

Anyway my 655 router can pull about 300 mbit/s through them; that is a
limitation on the router. Clearly not an everyday event but it happens
when moving freshly ripped music to my server.

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Duet plus Beresford DAC or Touch, better sound?

2011-05-01 Thread slate

I do not own a Touch so I can't compare with that. But one of my
Receivers is hooked up with a Beresford Caiman+ with a Gator board.

Duet Receiver - Beresford Caiman - Carver A-500x - BW 704

My soundstage has never been better

Other things that might have importance:
- Touch can handle high resolution
- Caiman is also quite capable for headphone use
-

On http://theartofsound.net there are several users that have combined
their Touch with a Caiman and prise the result

If you want to work a little on this you should open your own thread in
the beta section. Describe your setup; hardware, software version and
