Re: [aur-dev] Remove package search auto-complete
Hi, On Wed, Jan 1, 2014 at 5:06 PM, Joris Steyn jorisst...@gmail.com wrote: The changes proposed by Daniel Landau fix both issues, but do not allow using the keyboard to select a package from the list. Attached patch is based on those changes and cover the following use cases: * a user enters a search term and presses enter - search results page * a user enters a search term and clicks on a suggestion - package page * a user enters a search term and selects a suggestion using keyboard - package page This is improvement but I still feel the lack of a button. If I past a part of a package name and want to go to the search result page I still need to reach the keyboard just to press enter. Moreover this is quite counter-intuitive as I have often looked if there was any button hidden somewhere after the introduction of this suggestion feature. Regards, -- Cédric Girard
Re: [aur-dev] reinstalling an already installed app
On Wed, Jun 13, 2012 at 3:50 PM, Arno Gaboury arnaud.gabo...@gmail.comwrote: After building the app, I cd in the src directroy, then run make install, Et voila! This is a very bad idea. Files installed on your system are supposed to be managed by pacman. By doing a make install you are putting yourself in the exact same situation you were before: pacman will complain when installing the package because of file not owned by the package already present. N.B: Last time I posted in the gen ML about an AUR package, they send me to the AUR ML !! So I am not sure how to choose There is 2 different AUR ML: aur-dev which is this one and is dedicated to development of the application running the AUR. aur-general which should be used for discussion about AUR content. This current email should be acceptable both in aur-general or in arch-general. aur-general because Texstudio is provided on the AUR. arch-general because your question is mainly related to pacman usage. -- Cédric Girard

Iirc, we even have some note on that in HACKING. [1] http://projects.archlinux.org/aur.git/commit/?id=77149ad0 OK. I'll use one of these methods next time then. Thanks -- Cédric Girard
[aur-dev] Patch for French translation
Hi, Here is a patch for the French translation. What have been done : * Translation of notify has been changed to the literal translation notifier which seems more appropriate (cf. recent thread on AUR-general) * Uniformization of the translation of flag * Addition of TU besides the translation of Trusted User as user may not understand that Trusted User and Utilisateur de confiance are the same thing * Some capitalization correction (in French you don't put capital letters in the middle of a sentence as you do eg for title in English). * unsupported translation has been replaced by unsupported (with quotes) as it makes no sense to translate it * Safe translation has been replaced by sûr has it seems more appropriate than sain (sane) I think that sum it up. I won't try to attach the patch as it seems not working very well ... Here is a pastebin link instead: http://pastebin.com/Gp8TBz1C Regards, -- Cédric Girard
