Because, it's orphan, it's out-of-date, source link is broken
 (==cannot be built).

Well, I must have deleted the source file in a recent cleanup. Sources
should not be hosted on the AUR. Otherwise let whoever the new
maintainer may be fix the PKGBUILD to retrieve sources remotely.

Ok my bad. I don't see it was a local link...

By trying to update this package i discovered that we need an oracle
account and accept a license to be able to download the Zip files
 needed to installation.
I don't believe this is simply scriptable in a PKGBUILD. So, we can:
 1 - Delete the package
2 - Update the package and asking to user which want to build package
to manually download zip files from oracle.com

 What would you prefer?

I would prefer the latter.

Yes, I'm alive and active, and I can either fix (if Marc sends me the

Let me know what road to take.

Patch sent.

[aur-general] Moving calibre and unetbootin to [community]

2010-12-13 Thread Giovanni Scafora

Hi guys,

I'd like to move calibre [1] and unetbootin [2] to [community] repo.
As you see, respectively they have 435 and 1401 votes.
What do you think about?
Opinions?

These were both mentioned in the Arch holiday madness! nominations

24th) expires to avoid spoiling the christmas surprise? ;)

I don't feel too strongly either way though.

Hi,

I wasn't aware that thunderbird allows using global myspell dictionaries
and uploaded deleted package thunderbird-spell-pl, which is now
obsolete, because there is hunspell-pl in AUR.

Well, it's not a surprise anymore for these two :(

So I say, bring 'em in :)

If we really want to wait out for that thing, then I say we officially
declare a TU hiatus. Otherwise, it has no effect and we can carry on
adopting as and when we like.

There is a similar case with packages like steinberg-vst [1]. The package
just assumes the source are already downloaded in the build directory as
explained in comment.

 Briefly,
 these include:
 * enabling a vote to pass in the absence of quorum when more than 50% of
 active
   TUs have voted YES
 * enabling a vote to fail in the absence of quorum when 50% or more of

   TUs have voted NO
 * clarifying the text to eliminate ambiguities

 Please see Kaiting's [aur-general]Amendment thread and Loui's

This message marks the beginning of the 5-day discussion period before the
amendment is put to a vote.

Can we get that as a patch so I may apply it to the hosted version if
the vote passes? The content should probably be on the mailing list as
 well.

We can compare-and-contrast better looking at a patch, so +1 to that.

yes, please provide a patch.
