[aur-general] Rename request
Hi everybody, Could you please rename my package qtmind to QtMind? https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qtmind/ Thanks

But you must upload a package with correct name first. And anyway package names with capital letters are not recommended. So, the current package name is good and I really don't think that renaming is necessary. -- С уважением, Е.Алексеев. On 29 January 2014 10:12, Omid Nikta omidni...@gmail.com wrote: Hi everybody, Could you please rename my package qtmind to QtMind? https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qtmind/ Thanks You should rename the package to qtmind-git, and make use of the pacman 4.1 VCS templates [1] (i.e. put the git repo URL in the sources array, write a pkgver function, and don't manually clone/make a build directory). You should also surround every $srcdir and $pkgdir with double quotes. You also might want to check whether the Makefile has a install recipe, rather than manually installing the files. I don't know why you want to use capital letters everywhere. The description is grating enough without $pkgname doing it too. [aur-general] Removal request: ds4drv-hidraw-git
Hello, ds4drv-hidraw-git was a package for an experimental feature of ds4drv. That feature is now merged to the master branch and is available with ds4drv-git. ds4drv-hidraw-git should be removed from AUR. Thanks. -- Ape Lauri Niskanen

[aur-general] Fwd: AUR Package deleted: mesa9
-- Forwarded message -- From: aur-not...@archlinux.org Date: Thu, Jan 30, 2014 at 10:40 AM Subject: AUR Package deleted: mesa9 To: lordheavy deleted mesa9. You will no longer receive notifications about this package. Hey TU's, I realise I kinda uploaded this package and quickly disowned it, but there is in fact some serious regressions in mesa 10.x (thus far) for *some* AMD/ATi Intel GPU users. I wasn't willing to maintaining the package because I personally don't own any of the affected hardware, however AFAIK the state i left the package in when i disowned it was a perfectly working one. I figured someone affected could pick it up. Anyways, just mentioning it. I don't personally care either way. Regards, Rob McCathie (korrode)

[aur-general] a cpan2aur, npm2aur, gem2arch like utility for Python
I've been looking, but I haven't yet found a utility like cpan2aur or gem2arch, etc for Python 'eggs' or whatever they're called ;-) I use cpan2aur ( well it's underlying module parent ) rather prolifically maintaining my Perl AUR PKGBUILDs, I eventually would like to utilize gem2arch, nodejs-npm2aur etc to take on even more responsibility to ensure that Arch Linux is the home of language library usability awesomeness. Even though I don't like the Python paradigm, I can not be ignorant to the fact that people use it; even if it makes me sad to know people are using it. That said, is anyone aware of, or have plans to make, a pypi2aur like utility ? I'm just planning long term right now, until I perfect my Perl PKGBUILD build server, I won't bite off anything more, but eventually that will reach a mature status and my interests will soon change focus for the other languages. -- Thanks, John D Jones III UNIX Zealot; Perl Lover unixgeek1...@gmail.com jnbek1...@gmail.com http://zoelife4u.org/

Re: [aur-general] Rename request
Ok thanks guys. After I sent the rename request, I realized that the current lower case name is better. Thanks also for tips. I will revise the package soon.
