[aur-general] delete packages

starcal-new (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=32486)
starcal-last (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=35941)
The user was creating a new package every time a new version came out. Since
the original starcal was orphaned I updated it and fixed the problem with
python (that all the three had.) I think these two should be deleted, even
though starcal-new is not orphaned.

nppangband-newest (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=34119)
Duplicate of nppangband from extra.

rainlendar-beta (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=16491)
rainlendar-light is now on version 2.7, rainlendar-beta-unstable is on
2.8.b98. The two of them completely replace it.

liferea-dev (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=23759)
Completely outdated. liferea, liferea-git and liferea-unstable are all up to
date, replacing -dev.

[aur-general] delete packages

2010-11-18 Thread Joao Cordeiro
I think all of these packages should be deleted:

iolang (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=42613)
dupe of iolanguage

vimspell (http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=465)
upstream itself advises to stop using it since vim7 has a better native
spellchecker

mkvtoolnix-patched (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41906)
"A permanent official solution has been included in the new v4.4 upstream
release. So this package no longer has any reason to exist."

floola (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=16267) OR bin32-floola (
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=18717)
both provide the same (outdated) bin package. One of them should be deleted
(second one is the dupe but has better naming...)

searchsploit-svn (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=38759)
gone (?)

[aur-general] delete packages

2010-12-08 Thread Joao Cordeiro
libreoffice-bin [1] - dupe of package in extra.

pyclutter-svn [2] is deprecated since pyclutter now uses git (and there is a
git package in aur). Also, pyclutter [3] and python-clutter [4] are dupes.
First has better naming but the second was submitted first so I don't know
which one should be deleted - up to you.

Banshee mirage plugin is now part of the Banshee Community Extensions
project, as you can confirm in [1] - read April 7th news and check where
source link points to. Since the community extensions have an AUR package,
all mirage plugin packages should be deleted [2] and [3].

Deleted the first two and pyclutter.

Hi.

I was maintainer of the pyclutter package.

Can't build python-clutter, marked it as outdated. Also, there are
pyclutter-gst and pyclutter-gtk packages in AUR, it would be nice to
keep the overall naming scheme of python bindings for clutter. I have
nothing against if someone else will maintain this package, but it
would be nice to at least rename and update it then.

The thing is, there's no point in having two packages providing the same
thing. It isn't good for anyone.

If you can't build python-clutter and you know how to solve it (since you
packaged the same thing) just post your PKGBUILD in pastebin and leave it in
the comments. If the maintainer does not answer and doesn't update the
package, than I'm sure someone will orphan it so that you can adopt this
package.

I'm sorry that your package has been removed and I'm replying just because I
was the one suggesting it (even though I didn't pick the one to be deleted),
but you must understand this is the only way everyone can have a proper
pyclutter package.

Your suggestion sounds reasonable.

Can you please re-upload pyclutter (see [1] for the tarball) to the
AUR? I'll then delete python-clutter, and if Michael (damumbl) wants
to continue maintaining it under the new name, you could disown it for
him.

Michael sent me an email and said he's fine with having pyclutter
maintained by someone else.

I went ahead and deleted python-clutter, re-uploaded pyclutter [1],
and disowned it for Андрей to adopt.

Hi all,
tbe [1] and the_butterfly_effect [2] are duplicates of thebutterflyeffect

the latest version and it's actively maintained, so I'm asking for removal

I also suggested maintainer of [1] and [2] to ask for removal of their

[aur-general] delete packages (mostly svn and cvs)

2010-12-04 Thread Joao Cordeiro
Some time ago I noticed that (obviously) there are several *-svn aur
packages that no longer make sense because they were changed to git
upstream. After a little thinking I came up with a list of all *-svn and
*-cvs packages and made a script to check if said packages have a
corresponding -git package.

I believe the initial list was around the 100 packages, but then some were
there due to some bugs in my script. From the final list I have been
checking one by one if they should or not be deleted. It's harder than I
thought, so I only managed to take care of 20-25 by now. I'll post other
ones later.

1) flashrom-dev [1.1] and flashrom-svn-new [1.2] are both dupes of
flashrom-svn [1.3].

2) foobnix-svn [2.1] was replaced by foobnix-git [2.2]
Homepage points to git only and svn results in out of date files.

3) fluxus-cvs [3.1] was replaced by fluxus-git [3.2]

4) django-mptt-svn [4.1] (already orphaned and flagged) was replaced by
django-mptt-git [4.2]

5) dfu-util-svn [5.1] was replaced by dfu-util-git [5.2] as stated in [5.3]

6) conduit-svn [6.1] replaced by conduit-git [6.2]

7) brasero-svn [7.1] replaced by brasero-git [7.2]

8) Isn't banshee-latest-stable [8.1] a dupe of banshee [8.2] in extra?

9) banshee-svn [9.1] replaced by banshee-git [9.2] as you can see in [9.3]
and [9.4].

10) glade-svn [10.1] replaced by glade-git [10.2]. Check [10.3] and [10.4].

11) gigolo-svn [11.1] replaced by gigolo-git [11.2]

12) gtkpod-svn [12.1] replaced by gtkpod-git [12.2].

[aur-general] Delete packages: libmp3splt, mp3splt and mp3splt-gtk

2010-12-02 Thread Denis A . Altoé Falqueto
Gentlemen,

Please, delete these packages. I uploaded them thinking they didn't
exist in our repositories, but the search I made was wrong. I searched
with 'mp3split' but the packages are mp3splt, without that i, so I
ended up creating the packages and uploading. Just noticed after the
fact. Sorry for the trouble.

 Some more:

1) qutim-svn [1.1], qutim-plugin-kde-integration-svn [1.2],
qutim-plugin-icq-svn [1.3], qutim-plugin-jabber-svn [1.4],
qutim-plugin-mrim-svn [1.5] were replaced by git packages - qutim-git [1.6],
qutim-plugin-kde-integration-git [1.7], qutim-plugin-icq-git [1.8],
qutim-plugin-jabber-git [1.9], qutim-plugin-mrim-git [1.10].

2) xfburn-svn [2.1] was replaced by xfburn-git [2.2]. SVN URL at [2.3]
points to git.

3) uimge-svn [3.1] (already orphaned and flagged) was replaced by uimge-git
[3.2].

4) rocrail-svn [4.1]. From maintainer: "Sorry. Wrong package name.
Resubmitted as rocrail-bzr."

5) vala-svn [5.1] was replaced by vala-git [5.2]. Check [5.3].

11) moorie-svn [11.1] doesn't even work anymore. moorie-devel [11.2] is
deprecated - check [11.3]. Both should be replaced because they are replaced
by moorie-git [11.4].

12) netradiant-svn [12.1] was replaced by netradiant-git [12.2].

13) netsniff-ng-svn [13.1] replaced by netsniff-ng-git [13.2].

have been abandoned upstream and have git package.

Thanks in advance
Joao Cordeiro

Everything else is fine. Thank you.
