[Aus-soaring] Living in Perth WA for a few months - best gliding clubs?

2009-06-14 Thread Smith, Brian (AUS)
Hi all

I'm working from Perth for the next few months and looking to do some
flying with local clubs there. I'll be living in Perth or Fremantle and
keen to know which of the WA clubs is most accessible (travel time) and
most active. I'm a post-solo pilot (in NZ) and am a member of Southern
Cross in NSW where I have not yet soloed. I haven't flown for months due
to new baby in the house, so I'll be looking to have some tuition in a
2-seater. Thanks in advance for any advice.

[Aus-soaring] Gliding International Magazine - discount offer

2008-05-09 Thread Smith, Brian (AUS)

Folks

I have a spare discount voucher for a 12 month subscription to Gliding
International Magazine (the John Roake one produced in NZ)
http://glidinginternational.com/ which expires 30 May.

The voucher gives Australian subscribers a 12 month subscription for $40.00
instead of $66. I'm happy to post the vouchers to the first list member who
wants it.

Please reply on this list and to smithcorp at inbox dot com with your name and
address, and I'll post it out.

Cheers

Brian Smith

[Aus-soaring] Playing IGC files in Google Earth

I've also used that software to view a club member's flight. It's
excellent and includes a variometer and it's easy to change the
viewpoint. Very handy.
