Re: [Aus-soaring] Clearnav new software

2011-09-29 Thread Alan Payne
The software program is very well suited to AAT and is the most advanced
than others I have seen, we have been using CN for some time now ,when the
vario is released on to the market we will intend adding it to our panel.

AATs have been used in the USA for a few furlongs, but they're called Turn
Area Tasks.

Just as Macca implied, my flying is so backwards that tasking is in KM (like
the segelflug world), flying in NM/Kts/Ft (like the rest of aviation) and is
logged in SM/MPH (the norm in the USA).

Still filling tyres using PSI reference and using time in base 60.

Haven't visited Burma yet. Do they have penguins, or is that just what's on
the television?

correct Tim- they (USA) were the last country to drop using film and
convert to GPS tracking and think they recently discovered FLARMs and now
AAT. Forget using multiple starts - thats 10 years away until they have a
few mid-airs before the start Don't get me going they are still in dark ages
of degF and statute miles. Question What do USA and Burma have in common?
Ans They are that backward that they both use miles, feet, and pounds etc

The HW/TW component is nice.

Tasks on the main ribbon is convenient, but it's a lot of clicks from there
to the IGC declaration page.

Didn't try anything else.

Still no "North up while circling" option. But it's coming.
