[Aus-soaring] Laminated birch
Hi all I need to purchase (or otherwise acquire) two relatively small pieces of 9mm thick laminated birch (aircraft grade). If you have some that you are willing to sell or know of a supplier, please let me know off list. Regards Anthony P.S. I tried to send this message a day ago, but it hasn't appeared on the list for some reason. Sorry if you get two messages from me about this. ___ Aus-soaring mailing list Aus-soaring@lists.internode.on.net To check or change subscription details, visit: http://lists.internode.on.net/mailman/listinfo/aus-soaring

Anthony, Harry Schneider had a lot of aircraft plywood etc in the shed at his property in the Barossa about 3 years ago. Rudi Gaissmeier can tell you how to contact him. Antony, Yeah, In fact contacting someone from the Museum @ the Marsh might be your best bet. I suspect it is almost certain that they have what you want, without demolishing a Boomerang or two. Re: [Aus-soaring] Laminated birch
A point to note is that plywood has alternating layers where the grain is at 90 degrees (or some other angle layup as specified). The laminated birch timber that I am after has all the layers with the grain in the same direction. Actually just noticed this page - http://www.marinetimbers.com.au/sc/103/aircraft_and_models But it only shows up to 6mm - maybe just ask them. Have you tried Aircraft Spruce and Specialty? They provide components, materials and products to aircraft homebuilders. I did a quick search on their site for Birch products and got the following hit. Please click on the link below.
