You can't use pings or Traceroute as a reliable source of troubleshooting.
Microsoft disable public access on all public facing networking equipment now
a days.
So even if its online you still can't ping it.
If its only laytency affecting one or two networks its up to the network
opperator and Microsoft to sort out.
If you want better results get your customers to buy Azure Express Route, this
gives you private connectivity.
Regards Chad.

[AusNOG] Colo New Zealand 1/4 to 1/2 Rack

2019-10-28 Thread Bradley Amm
Hi Boys and Girls

Looking for some figures for colo in NZ. Looking for 1/4 or 1/2 a rack.
With at most 1.5KW of power. Enough for a 2x 2RU HP Server and Cisco 4321
Router.
Internet would be good but not a deal breaker as we will get our Vocus
IPWAN installed.

Doing a budget for next year so wont move on anything until February 2020
at the earliest.
Thanks

Can't tell if private addresses are the cause of your latency
problems, however you shouldn't ever be seeing them if Telstra are
providing you with an Internet connection. They really shouldn't be
used for private cloud interconnects either just because they could be
filtered by default by devices such as network firewalls.
