[AusNOG] NBN Business connection challenge Gold Coast

2020-07-29 Thread Darren Moss
Hi Noggers,

I have a business customer on the Gold Coast who has a small off-site workforce
that produces multimedia content.

They are on NBN business however the last mile is copper which can't keep up.
Speed is around 40/10.

The site has about 10 computers, a bunch of SIP handsets, some video
conferencing and video production equipment.

There are no economical fibre options so I am thinking along the lines of a PTP
wireless solution as their location is elevated with good visibility of the
central business area.

I am looking for at least 100MBps unlimited data and a static IP.

If you can help please touch base off list to discuss.

Many thanks

Darren.

Re: [AusNOG] MBB Wholesale Service provider

2020-07-29 Thread Drikus Brits
You can add EntrustICT to the list as well. They also provide Layer2/VPDN
services. They they terminate it on their own Mikrotiks and hand off as
ethernet where you need it.

Hi Ben,

Something else to keep in mind is that in some DC locations Telstra is the only
mobile service that works reliably.

We have deployments in Sydney DCs where both Optus and Vodafone just didn’t
work.

+1 for Mikrotik. They can be a hassle to get working properly but once running
they are reliable.

Thanks for the input David, Bevan & Jared, also to the many others that

The call home idea is a good one Jared. One big advantage is the ability to be
a bit carrier agnostic and use the provider with the best signal strength in
the area. Mikrotik also do a bunch of gear with LTE support which seems to be
pretty flexible.
I would prefer the public address delivered direct to the endpoint though (less
moving parts… got to hate VPN lockups).
Far out Bevan $80k in OOB connections! We’re a touch shy of that.. eh hem..

I have spoken to the Marketplace support, but I don't think he really

Anyone on list have a good local contact at Telstra?  NS's in question
are are ns1.telstradns.net and ns2.telstradns.net since they have so many.

Yep there's an issue between two specific devices. Team are working on it
but if you think you might be impacted, drop an email to

right ticket.

Feel free to cc me on your email to support@ too. If you've already

reference so we can identify you (service id, IX IP, or at least a company
name).

Re: [AusNOG] MBB Wholesale Service provider

2020-07-29 Thread Ross [Eve IT]
David, are we talking about static private or public IP addresses?

I'm also curious as I have a few OOB devices in the field that were using
the Telstra.Extranet APN that you could request to have a public IP which I
believe they are phasing out.
In my instance, I don't care if it's dynamic, I just need it public on the
device.

Regards,
Ross.

Re: [AusNOG] Megaport SYD - IX Layer 2 issues?

2020-07-29 Thread Joseph Goldman

We are having issues as well.

VxC from SY1 to GS is OK

GS can't reach RS1,  but can reach RS2
GS couldn't reach Servers Australia which seems to be hosting some
Afilias servers - which is what alerted me to our issue.

SY1  can reach both Route Servers

Seems to be some kind of segment issue from certain sources to certain
destinations.

Hey All

Anyone else seeing reachability issues across Megaport SYD IX to some
peers?

As of ~1200 we seem to be unable to see anything in SY1.

I’ve reached out to Megaport but curious to see if anyone else is
affected as well

Re: [AusNOG] MBB Wholesale Service provider

2020-07-29 Thread David Hughes

Hey

I've moved an LTE service we use for OOB over to ZettaNet from the previous
provider who shall not be named :) It was retail naturally but they may be
able to offer you something compelling.

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knows of a service provider (hopefully a wholesaler)
that can provide us 3G,4G,LTE services with a static IPv4 address?

We’ve got a bunch we need to switch over ASAP as our previous wholesaler has
decided that they’re not doing this anymore…. cause they don’t want to… *sigh*

Replies off list please,

Many thanks

Hi everyone

Aussie Broadband 4764 have completed our installation of RPKI and are dropping

Much thanks to Mark from Telstra for some pointers, but also the team from

12 midday or last night?

They had maintenance last night that’s all around midnight if that helps?
