Also sometimes you need to remove .Skype from your home folder. Then everything will be fine. It just take little time to sync all the message again. Sorry guys. My bad. I installed skype for ubuntu 12.04 on ubuntu 13.10. It works fine, if installed on ubuntu 12.04. Hi Yuri, I also found issues with Skype not logging in - I updated to the latest and it has worked cleanly since. It seems that your version is the latest, so only think I can suggest is removing it (possibly installing an older one) and then re-installing.
