Welcome to Dynamics AX world. I hope you will be happy with Dynamics AX.
In Dynamics AX, if you want to show any data about calculation of another
data, you can write a display method. You can use this method to show data
in forms and reports.
Firstly, you should add a display method like this to *Departments table* :
display int64 ShowEmployeeCount()
{
Employee Employees;
;
SELECT COUNT(recid) FROM Employees
WHERE Employees.DepartmentId == this.DepartmentId;
return Employees.recId;
}
After, you must add a field to *Departments form*. Select data source : *
Departments*, data method : *ShowEmployeeCount* and set label, and run the
form!

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Data Cleansing activities before Migration to AX4.0
Hi All, We are planning to upgrade from AX3.0 to 4.0 and we want to perform data cleansing activities (mostly Historical data) before upgrade process. Just to give idea regarding data cleansing activities: a) SalesOrder which have been created years ago and are not being used and are still open. b) Production orders which have been created but never got completed.. For example when i using function settlement in journal, i want to lock accountnum,accounttype,and postingprofile. so user can not change that field after using function settlement.
