Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Isn't weired with Axapta?

2004-11-03 Thread Chris Nicely

Hey subbu,

Aword from an american implementation consultant... The only one who can screw up you implementation is you.. honesty is the best policy and I have found the words: "Known Issue; with a temporary acceptable work around", to come in quite handy.

Hope you got my humor... but don't make yourself sick Axapta's flexibility makes up for it faults... that and some really smart people in some really good groups.

hello subbu,My dear friend please have patience with MBS Axapta.I think you are very new to axapta, so first thing isthat you need to first explore the possibilities inMBS Axapta.I know that when u r in the implementation process wehave limited time to give a solution and we makemistakes due to our limited knowledge on the Product.I admit myself committing mistakes in my previousimplementation, due to which we had to unnecessarydevelop i.e. customize some stupid functionalities.I assure you, you would get solutions work arounds orhints by posting your requeirements in these axaptagroups rather then using the MBS Axapta Partner sourcesupport, which i have been trying for one year, andcouldnt even get 20% of help from them, i am notcomplaining about them but they too lack productknowledge. I have
submitted two request to them andits almost one month over not even a single reply fromthem, they can reply something but no they wont.So the important thing is have know the businessprocess correctly and its integration, so that we canfind it out in Axapta how axapta handles it in itsstandard way.In your current case, you pointed a technical flaw, that if it is deleted from the master table, then tooon the related table its available and then it giveserror. This is an old issue, but microsoft haventlooked into it, may be they totally depend upon thepartners to fix such things. The same problem exists if you import the vendormaster with payment term "A" attached to it and without importing the payment term master table. So, this what we partners have to be carefull, as wecannot blame microsoft, cuz we sold it to the clientand we are implementing it.so just remember what JIM
saidCheers and Wakeup, and please dont get frustrated atthis early stage with microsoft, there is a long wayto go, hope we can help microsoft to build a very goodproduct in the market.thank youregardsvaibhav--- Jim Jo [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi subbu , Just add a restricted deleted action on 'paymterm' with VendTable. This will not allow you to delete the record when you have transaction attached. This simple problem will not screw up your 'BIG' implementation in the USA!. For every issue there IS a SOLUTION. Cheers and Wakeup ! JIM. Subbu [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Ax3.0 with SP3: Hi, I have created a new vendor and attached payment terms to 'A'. I
went to the table and deleted record 'A'. Now, I came to the vendor which I just created and found still its using payment terms 'A' even though its deleted at the table level. I have two questions. 1. Do you think if it is allowed to delete a record when its in use? is it not violating the RDMS concept against the data integrity? 2. Its still showing up the 'A'. I cleared the user cache, but still its showing 'A' for the vendor. I am just wondering if you accept this issue with me. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!. Is Axapta going to screw my Implemetation ( Largest in USA )? I don't want to support this type of systems!. Thanks, Subbu Sharing the

Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Interface Axapta HR to Payroll System

2004-08-05 Thread Chris Nicely

Hello,

What country are you in and are you trying to build a payroll system or use and existing one? If so what one?

I ask this because payroll is very country specific, between privacy laws, taxation information, and various benefit information calculations you couldneed very little or alot of information.

There is no such thing as typical information it depends on how you as a business operate, the benefits you offer and how automated you want you system to be.

I will need to look atAxapta HR again but I don't remember itbeing very heavy in HR functionality, or calculations which mean either you do more by hand, use an extremely comprehensive payroll system ordevelop what you need within Axapta.

But an easy answer to you question is you need to interface what your payroll system requires ;)
